Senna ARAM Build and Guide

Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.

A Senna ARAM build leans on Lethality and Attack Damage: Youmuu’s Ghostblade, Umbral Glaive, Bastionbreaker and Guardian Angel. On the Howling Abyss she deals 97% damage and takes 105% damage, a small nerf on both sides, but the mode feeds her passive with a constant stream of souls.

Every item here was picked by reading its current effect against her kit. Nothing comes from win rates.

How is Senna changed in ARAM?

Wiki ARAM stat Senna
Damage dealt 97%
Damage taken 105%

Two small penalties. A Relic Cannon shot that would hit for 1,000 on the Rift hits for 970 here, and a 1,000-damage combo on her lands as 1,050. Neither number changes how she plays. What changes is the souls. Units die near Senna all game in ARAM, and each soul she frees adds Attack Damage, Attack Range and Critical Strike Chance, so she scales on this map without needing to farm a side lane.

Why does Senna fit the Howling Abyss?

Because her kit is half carry and half support, and ARAM rewards both. In Riot’s patch 26.21 wording:

  • Absolution (passive): souls of units that die near her get trapped by the Black Mist. Attacking them powers her Relic Cannon with Attack Damage, Attack Range and Critical Strike Chance. Her attacks fire slower but deal bonus damage.
  • Piercing Darkness (Q) fires a beam through a target, healing allies and damaging enemies, on a 15 second cooldown.
  • Last Embrace (W): Black Mist latches onto the first enemy hit and, after a brief delay, roots them and everything nearby. Cooldown 11 seconds.
  • Curse of the Black Mist (E): a storm that makes her and allies inside camouflaged wraiths with extra Move Speed, unselectable and anonymous.
  • Dawning Shadow (R): a global beam that shields allies and damages enemies caught in the middle.

One lane, five enemies, so Last Embrace rarely roots only one person. Piercing Darkness passes through a target and heals whoever’s on the line, which in a crowded lane is usually more than one ally. The catch is mobility. She has none beyond the E storm, and at 105% damage taken a caught Senna doesn’t last long.

What should a Senna ARAM build focus on?

Lethality and Attack Damage, with a bit of safety at the end. Her damage comes from slow, heavy shots, and each one gets more out of flat damage than out of attack speed.

Start with Youmuu’s Ghostblade. It gives 55 Attack Damage, 18 Lethality and 4% Move Speed, plus Haunt for extra speed out of combat and Wraith Step, an active that adds Move Speed and Ghosting. For a champion with no dash, that active is a real escape button (her kit has none of its own).

Umbral Glaive comes next: 60 Attack Damage, 18 Lethality and 15 Ability Haste. Nightstalker adds true damage to your next attack on a champion after you’ve been unseen briefly. Curse of the Black Mist camouflages her, so there’s a natural overlap here (whether it triggers in every case isn’t something Riot’s text spells out, so don’t bank on it).

Then Bastionbreaker, with 55 Attack Damage, 18 Lethality and 15 Ability Haste. Its Shaped Charge passive adds true damage when your abilities hit a champion, and Piercing Darkness and Last Embrace both count. More haste means more heals, too.

Finish with Guardian Angel for 55 Attack Damage and 45 Armor. Rebirth restores 50% base Health after 4 seconds of stasis when you take lethal damage. On a champion who takes 105% damage and can’t run, a second life is worth the slot. Honestly, it’s the item you’ll be gladdest to have.

How do you play Senna on the Howling Abyss?

  • Collect souls between fights. They’re free stats, and in ARAM there are always some on the ground.
  • Throw Last Embrace into a group. It roots everything near the first target, so a clump of five is the best case.
  • Aim Q through an ally. The beam heals allies it passes and hits the enemy behind them.
  • Keep E for escapes. Unselectable wraiths are hard to catch, and it’s the only movement tool you have.
  • Fire Dawning Shadow early in a fight. The shield helps more before your team takes damage than after.

How does Senna use shopping and Mark?

ARAM has no recall. You shop at the fountain at the start and when you respawn, so know your next item while you’re alive. With no trips home, health relics on the lane are the way to recover between fights, and as a squishy marksman you’ll want them more than the tanks do.

Mark throws a snowball (it’s ARAM’s own summoner spell), and landing it opens a dash to whoever got hit. Should Senna ever dash into the enemy team? Rarely. Put simply, her strength is distance, and a dash forward undoes it. You choose summoner spells before the game loads and keep them all match, so pick with your role in mind (Mark is still worth taking for finishing a fleeing low-health target).

Is Senna good in ARAM?

Yes. The 97% damage dealt and 105% damage taken are minor, and the constant deaths in one lane keep handing her souls. She heals, shields, roots groups, and her range keeps growing as the souls pile up.

Her problem, to be fair, is divers. Champions who reach the back line will find a target with no dash, and the Summoner’s Rift version of that matchup list is in our Senna counters guide. Not sure whether she’s a support or a marksman? Our guide to LoL roles covers both. Every Senna skin is listed on the Senna skins page, next to the rest of our skins database, if you want to see her in each line.

So a strong Senna ARAM game looks like this. Free souls, hit the clump with W, heal through allies, ult early, and keep the storm for when someone finally reaches you.

FAQ

Is Senna nerfed on the Howling Abyss?

Slightly. The League of Legends Wiki’s champion data lists her at 97% damage dealt and 105% damage taken in ARAM.

What items does this build use?

Youmuu’s Ghostblade, Umbral Glaive, Bastionbreaker and Guardian Angel: Lethality and Attack Damage first, then a second life.

Why build Lethality instead of Attack Speed on her?

Her passive makes her attacks fire slower but deal bonus damage, so each shot benefits more from flat damage and Lethality than from Attack Speed.

Does Senna get more souls in ARAM?

Souls come from units dying near her, and in ARAM’s single lane minions and champions die close together all game, so she has more chances to collect them.

Is this build based on win rates?

No. We chose the items from their effects in patch 26.21 and how they fit her abilities. We don’t use win-rate data.
