Kai’Sa ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Kai’Sa ARAM build is an on-hit hybrid path, Attack Speed with both Attack Damage and Ability Power, so Plasma stacks fast and her items upgrade several spells. On the Howling Abyss she gets 102.5% Attack Speed and 95% damage taken, with damage dealt unchanged at 100%.
We picked items by checking her patch 26.21 ability text against each item’s description. No win-rate data was involved.

How is Kai’Sa changed in ARAM?
| ARAM modifier | Kai’Sa |
|---|---|
| Attack Speed | 102.5% |
| Damage dealt | 100% |
| Damage taken | 95% |
Two small buffs. Her Attack Speed is multiplied by 102.5%, and she takes 95% damage, so she attacks a touch faster and survives a touch longer. Damage dealt stays at 100%. The Attack Speed one is the more interesting of the two (Plasma stacks on attacks, after all). More attacks per second means Second Skin’s Plasma builds faster, and Plasma is where her bonus magic damage comes from.
Why does Kai’Sa fit the Howling Abyss?
Her missiles seek targets, and ARAM gives them plenty. From Riot’s patch 26.21 data:
- Second Skin (passive): attacks stack Plasma for increasing bonus magic damage; allies’ immobilizing effects help stack it; item purchases upgrade her basic spells.
- Icathian Rain (Q): missiles that seek nearby targets, more of them once upgraded. Cooldown 10/9/8/7/6.
- Void Seeker (W): a long-range missile that applies Plasma marks; upgraded, more marks and a cooldown refund on champion hits. Cooldown 20/18.5/17/15.5/14.
- Supercharge (E): Move Speed, then Attack Speed; upgraded, a short burst of Invisibility. Cooldown 16/14.5/13/11.5/10.
- Killer Instinct (R): a dash near an enemy champion. Cooldown 130/100/70.
Void Seeker is a long-range missile that marks enemies, and in a single lane there’s almost always someone in its path. Upgraded, it refunds cooldown on champion hits. Steady poke, all game. Icathian Rain is weaker when enemies stand together, since the missiles spread out, but it still adds damage in any fight. Killer Instinct lets her dash near a marked champion, so a carry who gets hit by Void Seeker in the backline is a target she can reach. What holds her back? A 525 range that leaves her exposed after the dash.
What should a Kai’Sa ARAM build focus on?
Attack Speed with on-hit damage, split between Attack Damage and Ability Power so several spells upgrade. Four items plus boots.
Kraken Slayer goes first, and honestly the 40% Attack Speed is the headline (the Attack Damage and a sliver of Move Speed come along too). Bring It Down makes every third attack deal bonus physical damage on hit, more against targets missing Health, and with ARAM’s extra Attack Speed that third hit comes around quickly.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade is the second item, and it’s built for a hybrid like her. It gives 30 Attack Damage, 30 Ability Power and 25% Attack Speed, Wrath adds 30 bonus magic damage on hit, and Seething Strike stacks Attack Speed up to four times, then applies on-hit effects twice on every third attack. Kraken Slayer’s third hit is an on-hit effect too.
Nashor’s Tooth third: 80 Ability Power, 50% Attack Speed and 15 Ability Haste, with Icathian Bite adding magic damage on hit. The Ability Power feeds Plasma’s magic damage, and the haste shortens Void Seeker.
Zhonya’s Hourglass closes it out. Killer Instinct puts her next to an enemy champion, usually in the middle of their team, and Time Stop gives 2.5 seconds of Stasis so she can wait for her team to arrive. It adds 105 Ability Power and 50 Armor. Boots: Berserker’s Greaves for 30% Attack Speed.
How do you play Kai’Sa on the Howling Abyss?
- Fire Void Seeker down the lane often. It’s long range and applies Plasma marks, and the narrow lane makes it easy to land.
- Use Icathian Rain on isolated targets (it’s at its best one-on-one). The missiles seek nearby targets, so a lone champion takes all of them.
- Dash with Killer Instinct after your team engages. It lands you next to an enemy champion, and you want company there.
- Save Supercharge for repositioning. It gives Move Speed first, then Attack Speed, and Invisibility once upgraded.
- Follow your team’s crowd control. Allies’ immobilizing effects help stack Plasma on the target.
How do shopping and Mark work for Kai’Sa?
There’s no recall here. The fountain is the only shop, at the start and after each death, and since her item purchases upgrade her spells, every trip back can change how her kit works. Buy toward Kraken Slayer first for the early damage (the components alone already help). She has no healing in her kit, so grab the lane’s Health relics whenever they’re free.
Summoners are picked once and kept for the match, and the ARAM-only option is Mark, a snowball whose hit lets you dash straight to that champion. She already has Killer Instinct for diving, so does she need a second dash? Usually not. Real talk, Flash plus a defensive spell keeps her alive in the fights where Killer Instinct put her somewhere dangerous.
Is Kai’Sa good in ARAM?
Yes. Her modifiers, 102.5% Attack Speed, 100% damage dealt and 95% damage taken, all point the right way, and Void Seeker is a reliable poke tool in a narrow lane. To be fair, her dive is risky with so many enemies close together, so timing Killer Instinct matters more here than on the Rift.
The bot laners who give her trouble are in the Kai’Sa counters guide. Our guide to LoL roles explains bot lane, the LoL items database has each item listed with full stats, and the Kai’Sa skins page collects her cosmetics.
Long story short, the Kai’Sa ARAM build is Kraken Slayer, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Nashor’s Tooth and Zhonya’s Hourglass, and the plan is Void Seeker poke until a marked carry is worth diving.
FAQ
Is Kai’Sa buffed in ARAM?
Slightly. The Wiki’s patch 26.21 data lists 102.5% Attack Speed, 100% damage dealt and 95% damage taken for her in ARAM.
What items does the Kai’Sa ARAM build use?
Kraken Slayer, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Nashor’s Tooth and Zhonya’s Hourglass, with Berserker’s Greaves.
Why build hybrid items on Kai’Sa?
Her passive upgrades her basic spells based on item purchases, and Plasma deals magic damage. Items with both Attack Damage and Ability Power, like Guinsoo’s Rageblade, support both sides of her kit.
Why Zhonya’s Hourglass on a marksman?
Killer Instinct dashes Kai’Sa near an enemy champion. Thing is, the landing is the dangerous part, and a couple of seconds of Stasis from Time Stop gets her through it.
How was this build chosen?
Second Skin did most of the deciding: items that feed Plasma and upgrade spells, read against the patch 26.21 ability text. No win-rate data was used.
