Roblox Error Codes 2026: Complete Table with Fixes

Updated November 6, 2026
Roblox groups every player-facing error into a single index of about a dozen active codes, and every code on the index has a dedicated support article with its fix. The table below pulls every active entry from Roblox’s own error codes index, maps each code to the exact message a player sees, and links through to the source and our fix guides. Verified against Roblox Support on 6 November 2026.

| Failed to Load Library | Roblox error: failed to load library | Client | Clean reinstall (clear AppDataLocal on Windows) |
The above is the exhaustive list of active codes from the index. Roblox groups them into logical families: network (266, 277, 279), version (280), permission (524), ban (267, 268, 600), and platform-specific (292 iOS, 901 Xbox, Failed to Load Library).
Network family — 266, 277, 279
These three codes all boil down to “the client cannot reach the server.” The root causes overlap, and the fix sequence is similar on every platform.
The common steps across the three:
- Reinstall the Roblox app from the current store.
- Clear app data. On Windows, run
cd AppDataLocalthenrmdir /s Robloxin command prompt. Roblox’s own line: “This gets the access cache build-up cleared from your system, i.e., clearing the app’s data restores the app to its default settings and clears all stored app data.” - Open UDP ports 49152–65535 on the router or firewall. Roblox’s own range from the General Connection Problems article.
- Disable ad-blockers and browser extensions on roblox.com if playing through the web.
- Check the device clock. Clock drift breaks TLS and surfaces as 277/279.
For 277 and 279 fix walk-throughs, the table above has direct links. 266 clears with the same three-step reinstall as 277.
Version family — 280 only
280 is the single Roblox code that specifically means “your client is out of date.” Roblox’s own definition: “Roblox Error Code 280 occurs when there is an issue with the Roblox version running on your PC, Mac, or mobile device.”
The remedy is a clean reinstall so the client pulls the current build. If 280 returns within minutes of reinstall, the AppData cache was not wiped — repeat with the full command prompt sequence from Roblox’s article. The per-OS walkthrough is linked in the row 280 of the table above.
Permission family — 524
524 is a social or privacy error, not a technical one. Roblox’s own line: “Error Code 524 typically indicates that you do not have permission to join a specific experience or private server.” Causes listed verbatim:
- Privacy settings too restrictive
- VIP/private server you were not added to
- Server temporarily unavailable
- Unstable connection or temporary bug
Fix order: privacy settings first, verify server permissions second, restart third, reinstall last. The row for 524 in the table above links the full walk-through.
Ban family — 267, 268, 600
These three codes are often confused but map to two distinct scenarios. 267 and 600 are experience-creator bans — the game’s owner banned the account from their specific game. Roblox’s own text: “Error Code 267 indicates your account has been banned by the experience creator for violating Roblox Community Standards within their experience. This ban is not issued by Roblox.” The same wording appears on the 600 article. For both, the appeal path runs through the creator — see our Error 267 guide.
268 is different. Its wording is: “You have been kicked due to unexpected client behavior.” This is tied to the Hyperion anti-cheat flagging exploit tools or modified clients on the device. The fix is technical:
- Close any script executors, trainers, or third-party tools on the device.
- Reinstall Roblox from the official store.
- Reboot the device and retry.
Platform-level bans from Roblox itself (account moderation actions) are a separate category and do not surface as any of these codes; they appear as login-screen messages instead.
Access family — 403
403’s wording: “Access to www.roblox.com has been denied. You are not authorized.” The three common causes:
- A region block — Roblox is restricted in some jurisdictions.
- An IP ban at account level (rare, but happens).
- A VPN routing through an IP that Roblox has blacklisted.
Disconnect any VPN and retry on the native connection. If 403 still appears, the device’s IP may be on a block list; ask a Roblox Support ticket to clarify.
Platform-specific — 292, 901, Failed to Load Library
Error 292 is an iOS low-memory warning. Close background apps, reboot the iPhone or iPad, and retry. If the device is older and routinely hits memory limits, closing recently-used apps before launching Roblox is the practical habit.
Error 901 is an Xbox-specific login failure. The fix is on the Xbox Live side — check sign-in, confirm the Xbox account is active, and retry after an Xbox network reset.
Failed to Load Library is a client file-corruption error. The fix is the standard Roblox clean reinstall: uninstall, wipe AppDataLocalRoblox on Windows, reinstall, retry.
Studio — 270
Code 270 is unique in that it only appears in Roblox Studio with Team Create enabled. The wording: “Lost connection to Team Create, please reconnect.” This is for developers, not players. The fix is to reconnect the Team Create session; the game’s players will not see this error.
Account — 264
Error 264 is a dual-session error. Roblox allows one account to be logged in and playing on one device at a time. If a second device signs in and tries to launch a game, 264 appears on the second device. The fix is literal: close the Roblox session on the first device.
FAQ
What is the most common Roblox error?
Across Roblox’s own support traffic and player reports, 277 and 279 are the two most frequent, because they map to network and firewall issues that affect many players at once when a router misconfigures or an ISP’s routing changes.
Are any Roblox error codes a permanent ban?
Error 600 (“banned from an experience”) is a game-level ban that only the game’s owner can lift. A platform-level ban from Roblox itself does not surface as a code — it surfaces as account access denial on login. 403 looks similar but is usually region or VPN related, not a ban.
Does reinstalling Roblox lose my account progress?
No. Robux, inventory, friends, and game progress live on Roblox’s servers and are tied to the account. A reinstall affects only the client binary and cache on the device.
Do error codes repeat between platforms?
Mostly yes — 277, 279, 280, 524 appear on every supported platform. Error 292 is iOS-only (low memory). Error 901 is Xbox-only. “Failed to Load Library” is desktop-only. Roblox’s error codes index notes this where relevant.
How does Roblox decide what error code to show?
The server returns a numeric code with each failed request. The client looks up the code in its internal table and shows the matching support-article link. New error codes are added when a new failure mode is introduced; retired codes are dropped from the index over time.
Can I turn off Roblox error codes?
No. They are diagnostic — the code is the quickest way to identify what failed and route players to the right fix. Hiding them would make troubleshooting harder, not easier.
What information does Roblox need if a code is not listed?
Per Roblox’s own instructions: “If you can’t find the error code or message you’re experiencing in our help articles, please contact our support team for assistance.” Include Roblox username, exact error text, device model, OS version, and the steps that trigger the error.
How to escalate to Roblox Support
If none of the per-code fixes work, Roblox’s own escalation path is the same across all articles. Open a ticket at the Roblox Help Center and include:
- Roblox username (the exact username, not the display name).
- Error message as shown on screen, including the numeric code.
- Device model and operating system version.
- Steps that reproduce the error, in order.
- Recent changes to the network, device, or account (new router, new firewall rule, new VPN, recent OS update).
Roblox Support asks for these five fields because they cover nearly every case where a code does not clear with the standard fix. Omitting any of them can delay the response by a full day.
What error-codes pages change in 2026
Roblox’s error-codes index is actively maintained. Codes 36639955031060 (the index itself), 36795858515860 (277), 36794291921684 (279), 36792120219284 (280), and 41933144508180 (524) were all last updated in October–November 2026, confirming the article wording quoted on this page is current. Older codes that no longer appear on the index (for example, retired codes from the pre-Hyperion anti-cheat era) are not listed because Roblox no longer returns them to clients.
