Okay so I wasn’t expecting to love this. Urgot mains are their own category of person on the Rift – they queue top lane, they click their legs on people in teamfights, they never explain themselves. This skin leans directly into that. A clog-wearing mob boss dressed in a suit, somehow looking completely at home on a champion that’s literally a mechanical spider-crab. First time I saw it was in a Diamond top game last April, enemy Urgot. Got dove at level 6. Didn’t even finish processing the concept before I was dead.
What Urgot the Clogfather actually changes
New VFX is the headline here. Urgot’s Q picks up a mechanical grime to it – heavier particle work, fits the Day Job mobster aesthetic better than I expected. The E, already one of the more satisfying poke tools in the top lane, gets reskinned to match. Think industrial machinery dressed up in pinstripe. His W gets touched too. Not a Legendary-level overhaul, but this is an Epic. 1350 RP gets you meaningful VFX changes, not a voice actor.
The recall is where Urgot the Clogfather makes its case. Thats the moment that sold me on this skin honestly – full crime boss staging, fits the Day Job concept without feeling forced. Some Epic recalls are an afterthought. This one isn’t. Worth sitting through the full animation before the next teamfight breaks out.
Base voice lines only. No new VO, which tracks for this tier. Paul M. Guyet’s base delivery is already unhinged enough that it doesn’t clash with the theme – Urgot sounding like he’s plotting something regardless of skin.
April 2025 drop, the Day Job line, and who painted it
Urgot the Clogfather released April 2, 2025. Right at the start of a new month, which meant I burned my RP budget before I could think twice. Classic.
Kevin Law and West Studio did the splash. They went hard on it – Urgot suited up, clogs on, criminal mastermind energy radiating off him like he runs a shoe empire that also does money laundering. (random aside: this is the first time I’ve ever seriously considered making an Urgot splash my phone wallpaper, which says something about how well it landed)
The Day Job skinline is a “what if they had normal jobs” concept Riot revisits every couple years. Urgot slots in naturally. There’s 8 chromas total. Obsidian goes almost completely dark, reading less like a mob boss and more like a hitman. Tanzanite hits a deep purple that honestly elevates the villain fantasy more than the base palette does. Catseye goes yellowy-gold – warmer than you’d expect, and it works well against the suit. The other five cover the usual spread if those three don’t land for you.
Is Urgot the Clogfather worth 1350 RP?
For Urgot mains: yes, straight up. New VFX, a recall that actually fits the concept, 8 chromas, and a theme memorable enough that enemies in lane will stop and read your skin ID. That’s not nothing for a champion with a smaller catalog.
Could be wrong here but I think this edges out Fright Night Urgot on personality, even if Fright Night has the stronger horror aesthetic. The Day Job angle is funnier and more specific. 1350 RP well spent if you’re grinding top lane with Urgot this season.
Still in the shop, loot eligible. No rush, but if Urgot is your one-trick for climbing, this is the lock-in.
