Spirit Blossom Yorick

First game I played with Spirit Blossom Yorick was around 1 AM on a random Wednesday, and the Maiden looked so different I genuinely forgot what ability I was using for a second. Not gonna lie, Yorick getting a Spirit Blossom skin felt like Riot finally remembered this champion exists. Been maining Yorick on and off since season 8, and the skin options were rough for a long time. This one changed things.

What Spirit Blossom actually does to Yorick’s kit

The VFX overhaul is where you feel the 1350 RP. His Q slam has this soft petal burst on impact that reads way cleaner than base. The ghouls get a full Spirit Blossom redesign, these translucent spirit forms that float instead of shamble. Huge difference. Walking down a lane with four of them trailing behind you actually looks intentional now instead of like you’re herding zombies.

W gets the biggest visual upgrade I think. The wall rises with cherry blossom branches instead of that dark grave soil, and it just fits the theme perfectly. Trapping their Jinx inside a cage of spirit wood last Tuesday in a Diamond game felt way more satisfying than it should have. E marks the target with a blossom sigil, clean animation, nothing too flashy but distinct enough you can track it in a teamfight.

The Maiden though. Kinda feels like Riot put 60% of the skin budget into her redesign. She’s this ethereal spirit figure now, flowing robes, glowing presence. When she’s pushing a side lane with you the whole splitpush fantasy just hits different. The recall animation ties it together with Yorick communing with spirits, petals swirling around. Base voice lines, no new VO, but honestly Yorick’s base voice is good enough that it doesnt bother me.

The Spirit Blossom line and where Yorick fits

Released October 6, 2022. Second wave of Spirit Blossom skins after the original 2020 batch. Jeremy Chong and West Studio handled the splash, and they captured something specific here. Yorick kneeling among spirit blooms with the Maiden hovering behind him. Check it out, the composition tells you everything about the champion’s identity without being heavy-handed.

Spirit Blossom as a skinline is one of Riot’s better thematic universes. The Ionian spirit world aesthetic works for champions who deal with death and the afterlife, and Yorick is literally a shepherd of souls. Perfect fit. More natural than some of the other Spirit Blossom picks that felt like Riot just wanted popular champions in the line.

9 chromas total. Night Blossom is the standout for me, the dark blue and silver palette makes the Maiden look almost ghostly in a different way than base. Obsidian goes full shadow aesthetic which pairs well with the splitpush menace energy. Pearl is clean but maybe too bright for my taste. (Random aside: I used the Night Blossom chroma as my desktop wallpaper for like three months straight.) Could be wrong here but I think the chromas on this skin are better than most Epic tier offerings because the spirit VFX change tint with them.

Is Spirit Blossom Yorick worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Yorick at all, this is the skin. Before this dropped the best option was Meowrick which is funny but not exactly serious. Arclight exists but feels dated. Pentakill III is fine. Spirit Blossom is the first Yorick skin that feels like a premium product.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, completely redesigned ghouls and Maiden, solid recall. Permanent shop, grab it whenever. Been running this in ranked for maybe 150 games since it came out and I keep coming back even after picking up other skins. The ghoul redesign alone sells it. If you’re a Yorick one-trick climbing through Diamond or you just want your splitpush to look clean, this is the one. S-tier Yorick cosmetic. Only real complaint is no voice filter, but at this price point thats expected. Skip Arclight, skip Resistance, lock in Spirit Blossom.
