First time I saw Galactic Nasus in a loading screen I thought someone was running a custom skin. The purple-blue space armor on a giant dog god just looked out of place in the best way possible. Been playing Nasus on and off since season 2 and this skin still gets locked in when I want something clean without spending a fortune.

What Galactic Nasus actually changes

Real talk though, this is a Standard tier skin at 520 RP so temper your expectations. You get a full model swap and thats about it. Nasus trades his Egyptian pharaoh look for sleek metallic space armor with glowing accents. The staff gets a sci-fi redesign too, looks like something out of a 2010 space opera.

No new VFX on Q, W, E, or R. Voice lines stay base. No recall animation changes either. When you pop ult you’re still getting the same growing Nasus but now he’s a giant armored space dog which honestly reads better in teamfights than you’d expect. The color palette shifts to deep blues and purples against metallic silver. In lane specifically the model stands out against the Rift greens more than base Nasus does.

Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations feel slightly different with the reskinned staff. Probably placebo from 200+ games on this skin. The Q bonk is still satisfying regardless. Stacking cs in top lane with this skin just hits different when you’re cosplaying as some intergalactic warlord instead of Anubis.

(Random aside: my duo partner calls this skin “Space Doge” and I cant unhear it now.)

The Galactic line and when this dropped

Galactic Nasus released July 13, 2010. Season 1 era. Wild to think this skin is older than most of the champion roster at this point. The Galactic skinline is one of Riot’s earliest themed sets, back when they were just throwing ideas at the wall. Nasus, Renekton, and Azir all got Galactic skins eventually.

No splash artist credited in the data for this one which tracks for 2010 releases. Riot wasnt exactly documenting their art pipeline back then. The splash itself is dated but has a certain charm, Nasus standing in some cosmic void with his staff glowing. Permanent shop availability so you can grab it whenever. No chromas exist for Galactic Nasus which is a shame because a red or gold recolor of that armor would go hard.

The Galactic line never really took off the way Cosmic or Dark Star did later. Kinda feels like Riot tested the “champions in space” concept early, shelved it, then came back with better execution years later. Still, for collectors or Nasus mains who want variety in their skin rotation, it fills a niche.

Should you buy Galactic Nasus?

520 RP is basically nothing. Two patches ago I was looking at my Nasus skin collection and realized I still rotate this one in alongside Infernal and Space Groove. For a skin with zero VFX changes that says something.

If you’re climbing with Nasus and want a cheap cosmetic upgrade over the base model, this delivers. Not gonna lie, skins like Infernal or Archduke give you more bang for your buck with actual particle changes. But Galactic has that old-school appeal. Been spamming Nasus in Diamond this split and the skin just works for those late-game splitpush sessions where you’re bonking towers with 700 stacks at 1 AM on a Wednesday.

Skip it if you already own a Legendary Nasus skin. Worth 520 RP if you main Nasus and want something different for your rotation. Simple change – huge impact on how the champ feels even without new effects. The armor design alone carries it for a season 1 release.
