Warwick ARAM Build and Guide

Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.

A good Warwick ARAM build mixes on-hit damage with sustain: Blade of The Ruined King, Sundered Sky, Spirit Visage and Sterak’s Gage, on Mercury’s Treads. Low-health enemies are everywhere after the poke, Blood Hunt finds them, and Infinite Duress locks one down. On the Howling Abyss he gets 105% damage dealt, 95% damage taken and 105% healing.

Kit first; no win rates.

How is Warwick changed in ARAM?

ARAM modifier Warwick
Damage dealt 105%
Damage taken 95%
Healing 105%

Riot is clearly helping him here, and with all three numbers at once. The wolf hits 5% harder, shrugs off 5% of incoming damage and heals 5% more, which boosts both Eternal Hunger and Jaws of the Beast. Why does a jungler need help in ARAM? Because without a jungle there’s no ganking, no camps and no surprise angle; he has to walk down the same lane as everyone else, eating poke the whole way. The buffs make that walk survivable.

Why does Warwick fit the Howling Abyss?

ARAM is a mode where half the enemy team sits under 50% health most of the time. That’s his trigger. Patch 26.21 kit:

  • Eternal Hunger (passive): bonus magic damage on attacks, healing for the same amount under 50% health, tripled under 25%.
  • Jaws of the Beast (Q): lunges at a target for damage based on its max health and heals for the damage. Cooldown 8/7.5/7/6.5/6.
  • Blood Hunt (W): senses enemies under 50% health for Move Speed toward them and attack speed against them, tripled under 25%. Cooldown 80/70/60/50/40.
  • Primal Howl (E): damage reduction for 2.5 seconds, ending in a howl that makes nearby enemies flee for 1 second. Cooldown 15/14/13/12/11.
  • Infinite Duress (R): leaps in a direction, farther with bonus Move Speed, and suppresses the first champion hit for 1.5 seconds. Cooldown 110/90/70.

Poke comps soften everyone up, and Blood Hunt converts that into Move Speed and attack speed aimed at the weakest target. Jaws of the Beast deals damage off max health, so tanks aren’t safe either. Infinite Duress scales with bonus Move Speed, which means a Blood Hunt-boosted ultimate flies a long way across the Abyss. Then Primal Howl, which on a narrow bridge scatters a whole backline for a second (only those close to him, to be fair). Honestly, it’s a simple plan.

What items does a Warwick ARAM build need?

On-hit damage, healing and enough survivability to stay in the middle of the enemy team (that’s where Blood Hunt sends him anyway).

Blade of The Ruined King opens. Mist’s Edge adds bonus physical damage based on the target’s current Health, strong against the tanks who stand in front, and Clawing Shadows slows a champion by 30% after three attacks so the chase never ends. Its 10% Life Steal stacks with his passive healing.

Sundered Sky second. Lightshield Strike makes his first attack against each champion a critical strike that restores Health. In ARAM teamfights he switches targets constantly, so it triggers a lot.

Spirit Visage third: Boundless Vitality adds 25% to heals and shields on him, which multiplies with the 105% healing modifier. Sterak’s Gage finishes the core, giving him a decaying shield under 30% Health, right when his passive healing is strongest. Boots? Mercury’s Treads, for the Tenacity.

How do you play Warwick in teamfights?

  • Follow Blood Hunt. It points you at whoever dropped under 50% health.
  • Ult the carry, not the tank. Infinite Duress suppresses the first champion it hits for 1.5 seconds.
  • Hold Primal Howl for the dive. The damage reduction covers your entry and the fear clears space.
  • Use Jaws of the Beast on high-health targets, since its damage is based on maximum health.
  • Don’t fear dropping low. Below 25% health the passive healing triples.

How do no-recall shopping and Mark help Warwick?

Buying happens only after a death. An early Blade component keeps the healing going until the full item arrives (Life Steal on a component still counts). Health relics fill the gaps, but Warwick needs them less than most champions, because his own kit heals so much.

Mark is the obvious second summoner. A snowball hit dashes him to the target, and he gets a second engage besides Infinite Duress, which goes a long way on a champion with no other gap closer except a short lunge. You can’t swap spells mid-match, so decide in champion select. Mark plus Flash is standard, real talk, and it rarely feels wrong on him.

Is Warwick strong in ARAM?

Yes. Three ARAM buffs, a passive that loves wounded targets, and a long-range suppression make him a strong pick. Grievous Wounds and hard crowd control are what slow him down.

Playing against him in the jungle instead? The Warwick counters guide explains that matchup. Prices and stats for all four items above are in our League item database, and the wolf’s alternate looks are on the Warwick skins page.

Long story short, the Warwick ARAM build is Blade of The Ruined King, Sundered Sky, Spirit Visage and Sterak’s Gage, with Blood Hunt picking targets and Infinite Duress locking down the carry.

FAQ

What are Warwick’s ARAM modifiers?

105% damage dealt, 95% damage taken and 105% healing, according to wiki data for patch 26.21.

Why build Blade of The Ruined King on Warwick?

Mist’s Edge deals current-Health damage on every attack, Clawing Shadows slows after three attacks, and the Life Steal adds to his passive healing.

Does Spirit Visage stack with ARAM healing?

Both increase his healing. Spirit Visage raises heals and shields on him by 25%, and the ARAM healing modifier is 105%.

How far does Infinite Duress go?

Its leap distance scales with Warwick’s bonus Move Speed, so the speed from Blood Hunt makes it travel farther.

Should Warwick take Mark?

Yes, usually. A snowball hit gives a dash to the target, a second engage on top of his ultimate.
