Sejuani ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Sejuani ARAM build is a pure tank path: Zeke’s Convergence to add a storm to Glacial Prison, Sunfire Aegis for the clump, and resistances for the rest. The Howling Abyss leaves her alone. Sejuani deals 100% damage and takes 100% damage in ARAM, which is no change at all. On one lane with five enemies, her bola and her charge always have something to hit.
Honestly, each item answers one line of her patch 26.21 kit, and win rates stayed out of the choice, since a crowd-control tank is easy to read from the ability text alone.

How is Sejuani changed in ARAM?
| ARAM modifier | Sejuani |
|---|---|
| Damage dealt | 100% |
| Damage taken | 100% |
Not at all, and that’s rare. Both values sit at 100%, which is unusual for a tank with this much crowd control (most of her neighbours in the tank class carry at least one nerf). Riot’s modifiers exist to fix champions the map breaks, and Sejuani apparently isn’t one of them. Her damage was never the point, so a damage nerf would change little, and a damage taken nerf would only shorten the frontline time that her team depends on. So she plays exactly as she does on the Rift, just with far more targets.
Why does Sejuani fit the Howling Abyss?
Because every ability in her kit is crowd control, and one lane means the enemy is always in range of it. Riot’s patch 26.21 text:
- Fury of the North (passive): out of combat she gains Frost Armor, with bonus Armor and Magic Resist and immunity to slows; it lingers briefly after damage. Damaging a stunned enemy shatters it for massive magic damage.
- Arctic Assault (Q): a charge that knocks enemies into the air and stops on the first champion. Cooldown 18/16.5/15/13.5/12.
- Winter’s Wrath (W): two mace swings that damage, slow and add Frost stacks. Cooldown 9/8/7/6/5.
- Permafrost (E): freezes and stuns a champion at maximum Frost stacks. Cooldown 1.5.
- Glacial Prison (R): a bola that freezes and stuns the first champion hit and leaves an ice storm that slows the others. Cooldown 120/105/90.
In practice, the Frost loop never stops here. Winter’s Wrath hits several enemies at once in a tight lane, Permafrost comes back every 1.5 seconds, and any ally melee hits push the stacks along too. Then the shatter. A stunned enemy takes massive magic damage from her passive, and on a map where someone is stunned every few seconds, that’s her real damage source. The ice storm from Glacial Prison slows four champions at once (which is most of the enemy team in one cast). Is there a downside? Her range is 150, so she has to walk into everything she wants to freeze.
What should a Sejuani ARAM build focus on?
Health and resistances, with one item that rewards the ultimate. She doesn’t scale with damage items; she scales with how long she stands in the middle.
Zeke’s Convergence is the first buy. When she throws Glacial Prison, Frostfire Tempest wraps her in a storm that lasts 5 seconds, ticking for 30 magic damage per second on enemy champions and cutting their Move Speed by 30%. Stack that on the bola’s own ice storm and nobody leaves. It’s cheap, too, at 2,200 gold with 300 Health and 25 of each resistance.
Sunfire Aegis follows, and to be fair it’s the obvious one. Immolate burns nearby enemies with magic damage per second for 3 seconds after she takes or deals damage, and she is always doing one or the other. The stat line (350 Health, 50 Armor, 10 Ability Haste) is the frontline she needs to keep the burn ticking.
Then Kaenic Rookern against the mages that every ARAM team seems to roll. Magebane grants a magic shield after 15 seconds without magic damage, on top of 400 Health and 80 Magic Resist. Funny enough, the fountain trip after a death is exactly when that shield recharges.
Jak’Sho, The Protean closes the build. Once she has been fighting champions for 5 seconds, Voidborn Resilience adds 30% to her bonus Armor and Magic Resist for the rest of the fight. How long do ARAM fights last? Longer than that, nearly always. Mercury’s Treads add 30% Tenacity so she stays on her feet long enough to shatter someone (a frozen Sejuani freezes nobody).
How do you play Sejuani on the Howling Abyss?
- Throw the bola at the carry. Glacial Prison stuns only the first champion it hits; the storm around it just slows.
- Swing Winter’s Wrath into the whole clump. Frost stacks on several targets mean several Permafrost options.
- Hit stunned enemies. Fury of the North shatters them for massive magic damage.
- Charge in with Arctic Assault only when the team follows. It stops on the first champion and leaves her deep.
- Step back for a moment between fights. Frost Armor only returns after time out of combat.
How do no-recall shopping and Mark work for Sejuani?
With no recall, she shops at the start and after each death. Zeke’s Convergence at 2,200 gold is a quick first purchase, and after that each respawn buys a chunk of a tank item. Her passive helps between relics: Frost Armor’s bonus resistances cost nothing, as long as she gets a few seconds out of combat to earn them.
Mark throws a snowball and grants a dash to whoever it hits, and the summoner pair is fixed once loading starts. On Sejuani, Mark is an extra Arctic Assault: snowball the backline, dash in, charge the carry, freeze them. Real talk, that’s a lot of commitment for a tank whose ultimate takes 120 seconds to come back at rank 1, and the backline usually has a dash of its own. Flash is the safer pair for a tank who already has a charge.
Is Sejuani good in ARAM?
Yes. No modifiers, 100% damage dealt and 100% damage taken, and a kit where the slow, the stun and the knock-up all land on groups. Her weak spot is early: before Zeke’s and Sunfire she’s a 150 range melee champion with low damage, and a poke team can keep her off the relics. After two items, she’s the frontline every random team wants.
The junglers who out-duel her on the Rift are in our Sejuani counters guide, and what a jungler is supposed to do each game sits in our LoL roles overview. Item numbers for the full set live in the League items database. Anyone collecting her looks should open the Sejuani skins page.
Put simply, the Sejuani ARAM build is Zeke’s Convergence, Sunfire Aegis, Kaenic Rookern and Jak’Sho on Mercury’s Treads, with the bola saved for whoever hurts the most.
FAQ
Is Sejuani nerfed in ARAM?
No. The League of Legends Wiki’s patch 26.21 values show 100% for both damage dealt and damage taken, so her numbers in ARAM equal her Rift numbers.
What items should Sejuani build in ARAM?
Zeke’s Convergence, Sunfire Aegis, Kaenic Rookern and Jak’Sho, The Protean, with Mercury’s Treads.
Why Zeke’s Convergence on Sejuani?
Its Frostfire Tempest passive summons a storm for 5 seconds when she casts Glacial Prison, which damages nearby enemy champions and slows them by 30%.
How does Sejuani’s passive shatter enemies?
Fury of the North lets her damage a stunned enemy to shatter it, dealing massive magic damage. Permafrost and Glacial Prison both provide the stun.
Where does this build come from?
Reading her patch 26.21 ability text gave one item per job. Win-rate charts weren’t used.
