Renata Glasc ARAM Build and Guide

Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.

A Renata Glasc ARAM build leans on Ability Haste and on-immobilize items, because her best tools are a root and a team-wide Berserk rather than shields. The Howling Abyss nerfs her: Renata Glasc deals 95% damage, takes 105% damage and shields for 80% in ARAM. Hostile Takeover on a clumped enemy team is still one of the strongest ultimates you can hit there.

Below, each item is tied to something in her patch 26.21 kit, and win-rate tables stayed out of the process from start to finish.

How is Renata Glasc changed in ARAM?

ARAM modifier Renata Glasc
Damage dealt 95%
Damage taken 105%
Shielding 80%

Three nerfs, and the shielding one is the biggest. Loyalty Program’s shields come out 20% weaker, her damage drops 5%, and she takes 5% more. Why? Honestly, it’s Hostile Takeover. A wave that sends enemies Berserk is devastating when all five of them stand in the same corridor, so Riot trims the rest of her kit instead of the ultimate. The practical result: build around the root and the Berserk, not the shields.

Why does Renata Glasc work on the Howling Abyss?

Because Hostile Takeover is a wave, and a single lane lines enemies up for it. Riot’s patch 26.21 ability text:

  • Passive: her attacks mark enemies for bonus damage, and her allies deal extra damage to marked targets.
  • Handshake (Q): roots the first enemy hit by the missile; recast to throw that unit in a chosen direction. Cooldown 16.
  • Bailout (W): empowers an allied champion and delays their death, possibly saving them if they get a takedown. Cooldown 28/27/26/25/24.
  • Loyalty Program (E): two missiles that shield allies and damage and slow enemies. Cooldown 14/13/12/11/10.
  • Hostile Takeover (R): a chemical wave that turns enemies Berserk. Cooldown 150/130/110.

Berserk enemies attack their own teammates, and in ARAM that means the enemy carry hitting their tank while yours walks in. One good Takeover on four people wins the fight on its own. In practice, Handshake gets better too. Root the enemy frontliner, recast, and throw them into their own backline. Bailout is the quiet extra (on a map where fights are constant, a delayed death that turns into a takedown happens often).

What should a Renata Glasc ARAM build focus on?

Ability Haste, Mana and effects that trigger on immobilizing a champion. Real talk, with shielding cut, pure shield power items give less here than on the Rift.

Imperial Mandate goes first. Handshake’s 16 second wait shrinks thanks to Control, worth 20 Ability Haste on any immobilizing spell, while Command leaves each rooted champion 7% Vulnerable for 4 seconds. Every root sets up extra damage.

Echoes of Helia is second. Soul Siphon stores 30% of her pre-mitigation damage to champions as Soul Charges, and her next heal or shield on an ally spends them to restore Health. Loyalty Program damages enemies and shields allies in one cast, so it charges and spends in the same motion. The item brings 20 Ability Haste too.

Third, Ardent Censer. Sanctify gives her and the shielded ally Attack Speed and bonus magic damage On-Hit for a few seconds, and it triggers off Loyalty Program even at reduced shielding. On a team with autoattackers, that’s the best way to turn a weaker shield into damage.

Shurelya’s Battlesong finishes the build, with Inspiring Speech granting nearby allies 30% Move Speed for 4 seconds. Use it to rush in while enemies are Berserk. On her feet, Ionian Boots of Lucidity add 10 more Ability Haste (and summoner haste, a small bonus).

How do you play Renata Glasc on the Howling Abyss?

  • Aim Hostile Takeover down the lane. The wave sends every enemy it hits Berserk.
  • Throw rooted enemies into their own team with Handshake’s recast.
  • Bailout the ally most likely to get a takedown. It delays death and can save them on a takedown.
  • Use Loyalty Program to damage and slow enemies while shielding allies in the same cast.
  • Stay behind your frontline. She has no dash and takes extra damage in ARAM.

How do no-recall shopping and Mark affect Renata Glasc?

ARAM has no recall. She shops at the fountain at the start and after deaths, and relics are the only healing between. Echoes of Helia gives her a little team sustain, which helps more on a no-recall map than the Rift. For a support with no dash and extra damage taken, dying is common (that’s fine if it happened after a good Takeover).

Mark is the snowball; hitting a champion unlocks a dash to them. Summoner spells don’t change once the game loads. Renata doesn’t want to be in front, so Mark is a strange fit. Is there a use? Sometimes: a snowball dash can put her in range for a Hostile Takeover on a team that thinks it’s safe. To be fair, Flash does the same job and also gets her out.

Is Renata Glasc good in ARAM?

She’s decent despite the nerfs. The 95% damage dealt, 105% damage taken and 80% shielding modifiers all cut into her, but Hostile Takeover on a clumped team decides fights, and Handshake still throws enemies into their own lines. Her weak spot is survival. No dash, extra damage taken and smaller shields mean she has to play far back.

The engage supports who catch her are in our Renata Glasc counters guide. Support is her Rift job. Our roles explainer covers it. The LoL item database holds every number quoted here, while the Renata Glasc skins page gathers her cosmetics.

So the Renata Glasc ARAM build is Imperial Mandate, Echoes of Helia, Ardent Censer and Shurelya’s Battlesong, played from the back with Hostile Takeover saved for the enemy clump.
