First game I loaded this up, my duo asked if Renata Glasc got a visual update. Not gonna lie, I had to double check myself. Masque of the Black Rose Renata Glasc landed January 9, 2025, and the whole vibe is this theatrical Noxian masquerade energy that fits her character like nothing else in her lineup. Been running this in Diamond support games for a few weeks now and the skin just clicks with how she plays.

For a Standard tier skin this one punches way above its weight. New VFX across the board. Her Q tether has this dark crimson thread effect that reads cleaner than base in teamfights, which matters when you’re trying to land the pull on their backline ADC. Might be overthinking it but I swear the W shield particles feel more visible too.

The recall animation is new and its probably the highlight. Renata Glasc adjusts her mask, does this subtle bow like she’s at some Noxian gala. Very in character. Small detail but it sells the fantasy.

E artillery scatter gets a dark rose petal overlay. Subtle change but in lane prio fights where you’re poking through the wave, theres a nice visual clarity to it. R is where the VFX shine hardest. Hostile Takeover sends out this wave of dark mist with rose motifs. Looked great when I caught three in dragon pit last Thursday around midnight. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected at this price point. Debra Wilson’s original performance carries fine here anyway.

Renata Glasc fits naturally into the theme since her whole lore is Zaunite power broker rubbing shoulders with Noxian elite. The skinline pulls from that Black Rose secret society angle and honestly Renata feels like the most lorefully justified pick in the set.

Real verdict: this is the best themed Renata Glasc skin if you care about lore cohesion. The Masque of the Black Rose fantasy just works for her kit. Been maining Renata Glasc with this equipped since it dropped and I keep coming back to it over Admiral and Fright Night.
