First time I saw the loading screen for Prestige La Ilusión Renata Glasc I thought Riot finally figured out how to make a Prestige skin that doesnt just look like someone dipped the base version in gold paint. Played three games with it that same night around 1 AM on a Tuesday, and the white-gold color scheme genuinely caught me off guard. Clean execution for a Mythic tier skin on a champion most people forget exists in champ select.

How Prestige La Ilusión changes her kit

The base La Ilusión Renata Glasc already had a strong carnival-magic theme going on, but the Prestige version strips away the darker purples and swaps in pearl white and warm gold tones. Riot went with new VFX across the board here. Her Q hookshot trails this elegant golden thread instead of the base greenish energy. Feels less threatening visually but honestly reads better in teamfights because it contrasts against most Rift terrain.

W is where I think the real value sits. The shield buff on an ally has this radiant shimmer effect now. Been running this in Diamond support games and my ADC actually noticed the difference, which never happens. (Random aside: my duo partner said it looked like I was “blessing” him, which is the most accurate description of Renata W I’ve heard.) The revive proc specifically has a brighter flash on Prestige compared to base La Ilusión.

E sends out waves with gold particle trails. Subtle change but it tracks well against dark backgrounds like bot lane river bushes. Not sure if it’s just me but the hitbox feels more readable with the lighter particles. Could be placebo. Probably is.

Her R, the big teamfight ult, rolls out with white-gold mist instead of the base skin’s darker fog. Honestly not gonna lie, it looks gorgeous in a 5v5 engage. The berserk effect on enemy champions keeps a similar visual language but with that Prestige gold accent. Locked in Renata Glasc specifically for a clash game last month and the ult in dragon pit looked incredible against the terrain.

New recall animation carries over the La Ilusión carnival motif but elevated. She does this elegant card trick sequence with golden playing cards. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh on this one. Standard for Mythic rarity skins.

The La Ilusión skinline and release context

Prestige La Ilusión Renata Glasc dropped September 27, 2023. Late into season 13. Su Fu and Kudos Productions handled the splash, and they captured something special with the composition. The pose has this confident energy that fits Renata Glasc’s whole corporate chembaroness vibe but dressed up in carnival gold.

The La Ilusión line itself pulls from Latin American festival aesthetics. Renata Glasc fits the theme naturally because her base design already has that theatrical, almost performative quality. She’s a manipulator in the lore, and the carnival fortune-teller angle works. The La Ilusión collection includes skins for Nidalee, Ziggs, Gnar, Draven, and Qiyana among others. Might be overthinking it but Renata Glasc’s Prestige variant is one of the stronger entries in the set.

No chromas on this one. Prestige skins typically don’t get them, which makes sense since the whole point is the exclusive colorway. Mythic rarity means you’re looking at Special pricing through the Mythic shop rotation or event token crafting depending on when you’re picking it up. Available now through the Mythic shop system.

Worth grinding for Prestige La Ilusión?

Real verdict: Renata Glasc has a small skin pool. Admiral Glasc was her launch skin, Fright Night gave her the spooky treatment, base La Ilusión brought the carnival theme, and Masque of the Black Rose went gothic. Five skins total including this Prestige. For a champion released in early 2022, thats not a huge selection.

Prestige La Ilusión sits at the top for me. The white-gold palette reads cleaner than any of her other options. Been maining Renata Glasc with this skin on and off since it released and I keep coming back to it over Fright Night, which was my previous go-to. The VFX clarity in lane specifically matters when you’re trying to land Q through minion waves or time your W peel correctly.

Three things stood out after maybe 40 games: ult visibility in teamfights, the recall animation quality, and how the gold particles pop against Summoner’s Rift terrain. Season 13 I think, or maybe early 14 when I really started spamming it.

If you play Renata Glasc even semi-regularly in ranked, this is the skin. She’s a niche pick in most comps, usually best into heavy engage or dive compositions where her W and R carry fights. Having a skin that makes your abilities more readable for your team is a genuine gameplay advantage at higher elos where people actually track cooldowns. Skip it if you play her once every 30 games, but for anyone who locks in Renata Glasc with any regularity in solo queue, Prestige La Ilusión is the one to own. S-tier Renata Glasc cosmetic. The Mythic grind or shop investment pays off here more than most Prestige releases I’ve seen in the last two seasons.
