First time I saw Cursed Revenant Nocturne load in, I thought someone on the enemy team was running a custom skin. The whole vibe is different from base Nocturne. Darker, more spectral, like something crawled out of the Shadow Isles instead of the dream realm. Been running this in Diamond for a few seasons now and it still catches people off guard in loading screen. Not gonna lie, for 750 RP this thing punches above its weight class.

What Cursed Revenant actually changes

So at the Standard tier you’re not getting new VFX or voice lines. Voice stays default. No recall animation either. What you do get is a full model overhaul and thats where this skin earns its spot. Nocturne’s body shifts from that smoky blue-black silhouette to a more defined ghostly warrior look. The armor pieces have this worn, ancient feel to them. Cracked edges, faded gold trim. His blades get a redesign too – they look heavier, more like cursed weaponry you’d find in some forgotten crypt.

The color palette leans into deep greens and dark teals mixed with black. Playing this skin, the model reads really well against the Rift. Especially in river fights around dragon pit. Had a game last Thursday where I ulted from fog and my duo literally said “that looked sick” because the green tones pop hard during Paranoia. Q trail doesn’t change but the darker model makes Duskbringer feel more threatening somehow.

No new particles on W or E either. Standard tier, standard expectations. But the model work alone carries it. Kinda feels like Riot put extra effort into this one compared to other 750 RP skins from the same era. The silhouette during passive proc is clean. You can tell the difference from base immediately which isnt always the case with cheaper Nocturne skins.

The Omen of the Dark line and release context

Cursed Revenant Nocturne dropped May 4, 2016. Part of the Omen of the Dark skinline. Pan Chengwei handled the artwork and honestly the splash is one of my favorites in Nocturne’s catalog. The composition puts him mid-dive with those blades fanned out. Menacing without being over the top.

The Omen of the Dark line fits Nocturne naturally. He’s already a nightmare creature so leaning into the revenant fantasy just works. Season 6 I think this came out, right around when Nocturne jungle was seeing some play in solo queue before the assassin rework shook everything up. 750 RP puts it at the budget end. Shop has it, permanent availability. No vault rotation to worry about.

(Random aside: this splash has been my Discord profile pic for like two years and nobody’s ever guessed it was a League skin.)

Should you pick up Cursed Revenant?

Real verdict: if you’re a Nocturne main climbing through ranked and you want something that looks distinct without dropping Legendary money, this is the pick. Eternum exists at 1350 and yeah it has the full VFX package. But Cursed Revenant at 750 RP feels fair for what you get. The model alone changes the experience enough.

Could be wrong here but I think this is the best value skin in Nocturne’s lineup. Maybe not the flashiest. Definitely not the most loaded with features. But the design hits a specific dark fantasy tone that none of his other skins really nail. Been maining Nocturne with this equipped since like season 9 or 10 dont remember exactly, and I keep coming back to it over Old God and Hextech. Something about the simplicity. You lock in Nocturne, you want to look like a threat in the jungle, and Cursed Revenant delivers that without the visual noise. Skip it if you need new particles on every ability. Worth 750 RP if you main Nocturne and care more about the model than effects.
