Count Kledula

First time I saw Count Kledula in the loading screen I actually laughed out loud. Not sure if it’s just me but Kled dressed as a vampire is one of those concepts that shouldnt work and yet completely does. The angry little yordle riding Skaarl in a full Dracula getup, cape and all. Ridiculous. Been running this skin in my Diamond games since around season 9 I think, and it still gets comments in all chat.

What Kled and Skaarl actually look like as vampires

Kled gets the full vampire treatment here. Dark purple and black outfit, high collar cape, the whole classic horror aesthetic. Skaarl becomes this green ghoulish lizard mount that looks like something out of a B-movie monster flick. The contrast between Kled’s tiny vampire lord energy and Skaarl’s hulking undead beast is what sells it.

The VFX got a Halloween makeover. Q throws out a spectral chain with ghostly particles, and when you land the tether on someone in lane it reads so much cleaner than base. W procs hit with these dark purple slashes that feel satisfying to spam during trades. Played maybe 40 games with this one weekend back in October 2023 and the auto attack animations with the new effects just felt right.

E charge has bats trailing behind Skaarl. Actual bats. Every time you E through a wave or into the enemy toplaner there’s this swarm effect that looks great in motion. The R is where it really shines though – Skaarl’s charge across the Rift leaves a trail of dark energy and the impact feels heavy. Real talk though, the recall animation is the highlight. Kled pulls out a coffin, Skaarl tries to fit inside, chaos ensues. Classic Kled energy.

Voice lines stay base. No new VO which is fine honestly because Spike Spencer’s original Kled voice is already unhinged enough to fit a vampire theme without changes.

The Trick-or-Treat line and where Count Kledula fits

Released October 24, 2018. Right before Halloween, obviously. Rudy Siswanto nailed the splash – Kled looks genuinely menacing for a yordle, fangs out, Skaarl looming behind him with those glowing eyes. The Trick-or-Treat skinline is one of Riot’s seasonal rotations that they pull out every year, and Count Kledula sits alongside skins like Trick or Treat Ekko in that space.

This is Epic tier at 1350 RP. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever you want. Gotta wait for the Harrowing event or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Seen maybe 5 of these across all my ranked games this season which makes it feel more exclusive than it probably is.

6 chromas total. Obsidian turns the whole thing into a darker, more serious vampire look that I actually prefer over base. Golden gives Kled this royal vampire king vibe, like he raided someone’s treasury before the teamfight. Rose Quartz is the weird one – pink vampire Kled is a choice, not one I’d make, but it exists. (random aside: my duo partner bought the Rose Quartz chroma specifically to tilt people in top lane and honestly it works)

Should you pick up Count Kledula?

Okay, the real question. If you main Kled this is a strong pickup. Kled has a small skin pool compared to most champions and Count Kledula is arguably the most fun option. The VFX changes are noticeable without being distracting, the theme fits Kled’s personality perfectly, and the recall alone is worth it for the entertainment value between fights.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New particles on Q, W, E, R plus the recall animation. For an Epic skin thats pretty standard but the execution here is above average. Kinda feels like the art team understood Kled’s vibe and leaned into it hard. The splitpush fantasy of a tiny vampire yordle charging at you on a zombie lizard while you’re trying to cs under tower – that’s the Kled experience distilled.

Could be wrong here but I think this edges out Sir Kled for best thematic fit. Sir Kled is clean but Count Kledula has more personality. If you’re climbing with Kled and want something that matches the chaotic engage playstyle, lock this in next time the vault opens. Last Harrowing around late October they brought it back. Worth the wait if you one-trick the little maniac.
