Conqueror Nautilus

First time I saw Conqueror Nautilus load in was during a ranked game around midnight, season 10. My support locked it in and I remember thinking the gold and crimson color scheme looked way better than it had any right to on a 975 RP skin. Been a fan of the Conqueror line since Karma, and Nautilus fits the esports celebration theme hard. Big dude, big anchor, draped in championship gold. Clean.

What Conqueror Nautilus actually brings

So this is a Standard tier skin at 975 RP, which means you’re not getting a full overhaul. Voice lines stay base. But what you do get is solid for the price point. The VFX swap out Nautilus’s usual deep-sea blues for warm gold and red particles. His Q hook trails golden light across the lane, and the W shield wraps him in this crimson energy that reads really well in teamfights. Not sure if it’s just me but the E ripples feel slightly more visible with the gold coloring, which honestly helps when you’re trying to peel for your ADC in a messy fight.

The recall animation is the highlight. Nautilus plants his anchor like a flag and strikes a victory pose. Simple change – huge impact on the skin’s personality. Feels earned, like he just won Worlds or something.

Model-wise, the armor redesign leans into that esports trophy aesthetic. Gold plating over dark red, with the Conqueror crest on the shoulder. The anchor gets the same treatment. Played maybe 40 games of Nautilus support with this skin last season and the auto-attack animations feel smooth, though thats probably just placebo from liking the visuals.

The Conqueror line and release context

Conqueror Nautilus dropped July 9, 2020. Mid-season 10. Lucas Parolin and West Studio handled the splash, and they captured the regal vibe perfectly. Nautilus standing tall with golden light pouring through, anchor planted. Portfolio-worthy piece honestly.

The Conqueror skinline is Riot’s esports celebration series. Each year a different champion gets the treatment, with proceeds going to the prize pool. Nautilus joining that roster made sense given how dominant he was in pro play around that time. Every other game in bot lane had a Nautilus engage comp running it down. (random aside: I think Nautilus was like 60% presence in pro that spring, which is wild for a support)

Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever. Hextech only these days unless Riot brings it back for an event. No chromas available for this one, which I think is a missed opportunity. Could be wrong here but a pearl white or obsidian variant would have gone crazy.

Should you pick up Conqueror Nautilus?

Real verdict: for 975 RP this is one of the better value Nautilus skins if you can get your hands on it. The VFX upgrade at this price tier is above average. You know what surprised me? How clean the gold particles look against Summoner’s Rift terrain, especially around dragon pit. Had a game last Thursday where I hooked their Jinx over the wall and the golden Q trail looked cinematic.

Competition in the Nautilus skin pool is tough though. Astronautilus exists. Shan Hai Scrolls exists. But Conqueror fills a different fantasy. This isnt cute or thematic, its prestige. Championship energy. Top pick for Nautilus mains who want something that says “I’ve been climbing with this champ since before he was meta.” Worth 975 RP if you main Nautilus, and the Legacy status gives it some rarity. Been running this in Diamond when I get autofilled support and it just hits different from the default. Skip it only if you already own Astronautilus and dont need a second option.
