Neeko ARAM Build and Guide

Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.

A Neeko ARAM build is burst AP with a way to reach the enemy team, built around Pop Blossom. The Howling Abyss gives her a buff: Neeko deals 110% damage in ARAM, and nothing else about her changes. On a map where five enemies stand in one corridor, an ultimate that knocks up and stuns everyone nearby is about as strong as utility gets.

The four items below come from matching her patch 26.21 abilities against the current shop, not from win-rate data.

How is Neeko changed in ARAM?

ARAM modifier Neeko
Damage dealt 110%

One modifier, and it’s in her favour. Every Blooming Burst, every Tangle-Barbs and the Pop Blossom landing hit 10% harder than on Summoner’s Rift, while the damage she takes stays at its normal value. Not huge (it’s a flat bump, nothing fancy). But on a burst mage whose combo is meant to finish people, that extra slice is often the difference between a low-Health carry and a dead one. Why is she buffed at all? Our guess, for what it’s worth, is the disguise. Inherent Glamour is less useful in a mode where every champion is visible in one lane, so the damage bump makes up for a passive that rarely surprises anyone here.

Why does Neeko fit the Howling Abyss?

Because a single lane packs enemies close together, and both her root and her ultimate hit more targets the tighter the crowd. What Riot’s text says:

  • Inherent Glamour (passive): she can look like an allied champion or other units; crowd control, damaging spells, hitting towers as a non-champion or losing the disguise’s health bar break it.
  • Blooming Burst (Q): a seed that deals magic damage and blooms again on hitting champions or killing units. Cooldown 9/8.5/8/7.5/7.
  • Shapesplitter (W): bonus magic damage on every third attack plus a short speed boost; the active sends a clone she can redirect. Cooldown 16/15/14/13/12.
  • Tangle-Barbs (E): roots everything it passes through and grows larger, faster and longer-rooting after crossing a champion. Cooldown 12/11.5/11/10.5/10.
  • Pop Blossom (R): a short preparation, then a leap that knocks up nearby enemies and stuns them on landing. The wind-up is hidden while she’s disguised. Cooldown 120/105/90.

Look at Tangle-Barbs first. It gets bigger and roots longer after passing through a champion, and in a lane where the enemy frontline stands in front of their carries, the first champion it crosses powers it up for the second. In practice, Pop Blossom works the same way: on the Rift you might catch two people, while here a well-timed jump catches four. The disguise still has a use too (copy an ally walking toward a fight, and the enemy can’t see your ultimate winding up).

What should a Neeko ARAM build focus on?

Burst, a gap closer, and a way to survive landing in the middle of five people. Honestly, that third part is the one most Neeko players skip, and it’s why the fountain sees them so often.

Hextech Rocketbelt goes first. Supersonic dashes you in a target direction and fires missiles that deal magic damage, which turns into the delivery system for Pop Blossom: dash, start the ultimate, land in the crowd. It also brings 350 Health and 10 Ability Haste, both welcome on a champion who has to stand close to the enemy.

Shadowflame is second. Cinderbloom makes magic and true damage critically strike enemies below 40% Health for 20% increased damage, and Pop Blossom usually lands on a team that’s already been poked. The item’s 110 Ability Power is the highest on this list, and with the 110% damage modifier on top, the finishing blow lands reliably.

Third, Zhonya’s Hourglass. Time Stop puts her in Stasis for 2.5 seconds, which is exactly what she needs after landing a stun in the middle of the enemy team. To be fair, it’s a dull pick. It’s also the item that turns a trade into a kill instead of a death.

Malignance finishes the four. Scorn adds 20 Ultimate Ability Haste, trimming a 120 second cooldown, and Hatefog burns the ground beneath any champion hit by her ultimate for 3s while lowering their Magic Resist. Against tanky teams, Liandry’s Torment swaps in. Sorcerer’s Shoes complete the set, 12 Magic Penetration for 1,100 gold.

How do you play Neeko on the Howling Abyss?

  • Throw Tangle-Barbs through the frontline. It grows after crossing a champion, so the carry behind gets the bigger, longer root.
  • Disguise as an ally before walking in. Pop Blossom’s preparation is hidden while Inherent Glamour is up.
  • Rocketbelt, then ultimate. The dash gets you into position; the jump does the rest.
  • Send the Shapesplitter clone ahead to draw skillshots, then follow behind it.
  • Press Zhonya’s Hourglass right after the stun lands, before the enemy team recovers.

How do no-recall shopping and Mark affect Neeko?

Gold only gets spent at the fountain, and only when you’re there anyway: at the start, or after dying. Between those visits, the lane’s health relics are all you get. For a burst mage who dives in with Pop Blossom, deaths happen, so plan the next component before you respawn rather than staring at the shop. A death with a full item’s worth of gold in the pocket is the one that really hurts (it happens more than people admit).

Mark puts a snowball in your summoner slot. Hit someone with it and a dash to them unlocks, and like every summoner spell it’s picked before the loading screen and stays put for the whole game, so the choice matters more than it seems. Is a second gap closer worth it on Neeko? Usually, yes. Mark plus Rocketbelt gets her into the enemy backline from much further than her 550 range would normally allow. Funny enough, that short range is the weakest part of her kit on the Rift, and here two dashes paper over it completely.

Is Neeko good in ARAM?

Yes. The 110% damage dealt buff pushes her burst up, and a single lane suits both Tangle-Barbs and Pop Blossom better than any map on the Rift. Real talk, her weakness is survival: she has to jump into the enemy to use her ultimate, and without Zhonya’s she tends to land a great stun and then die for it.

The mid laners who give her the most trouble are listed in our Neeko counter picks. Not sure where she normally plays? The positions guide covers mid and support, both of which she fills. Every item’s numbers are in the League item database, and her cosmetics are on the Neeko skins page.

In short, the Neeko ARAM build is Hextech Rocketbelt, Shadowflame, Zhonya’s Hourglass and Malignance on Sorcerer’s Shoes: dash in disguised, Pop Blossom the group, Stasis before the counterattack lands.

FAQ

Is Neeko buffed in ARAM?

Yes. In patch 26.21 the League of Legends Wiki lists her ARAM damage dealt at 110%, with no other modifiers.

What is the best Neeko ARAM build?

Hextech Rocketbelt, Shadowflame, Zhonya’s Hourglass and Malignance, with Sorcerer’s Shoes. Liandry’s Torment replaces Malignance against tanky teams.

Why build Hextech Rocketbelt on Neeko?

Its Supersonic active is a dash, which gets her close enough to land Pop Blossom on several enemies at once.

Does the disguise work in ARAM?

Yes. Inherent Glamour works the same as on Summoner’s Rift, and while she’s disguised the preparation of Pop Blossom stays hidden.

How were these items chosen?

By reading each item’s passive or active next to Neeko’s patch 26.21 abilities. We don’t look at win rates.
