Kayle ARAM Build and Guide

Updated for patch 26.21. Ability text follows Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.

A Kayle ARAM build is an on-hit AP build: Nashor’s Tooth, Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Rabadon’s Deathcap, with Zhonya’s Hourglass for safety on Berserker’s Greaves. She’s nerfed on the Howling Abyss (95% damage dealt, 110% damage taken), so she has to survive a fragile start before Divine Ascent gives her range and fire waves.

We matched every Kayle ARAM item to a line in her patch 26.21 kit. Win rates weren’t part of it.

Why does Kayle get ARAM nerfs?

ARAM modifier Kayle
Damage dealt 95%
Damage taken 110%

Blame the endgame version of her. Once Divine Ascent is fully grown, Kayle attacks from range with fire waves that hit groups, and a lane where five enemies always stand together is the perfect target. Riot answers on both sides: 95% damage dealt and 110% damage taken. The second number hurts more. She’s melee at the start, and taking extra damage while walking into poke makes her early fights rough (to be fair, a random comp with a lot of frontline gives her time).

How does Kayle’s kit play in ARAM?

From Riot’s patch 26.21 data:

  • Divine Ascent (passive): leveling and spending skill points grants Attack Speed, Move Speed, Attack Range and fire waves on attacks.
  • Radiant Blast (Q): a piercing sword that slows, damages and lowers resistances. Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8.
  • Celestial Blessing (W): heals Kayle and the nearest ally and gives them Move Speed. Cooldown 15.
  • Starfire Spellblade (E): magic damage on attacks; the active adds missing-Health damage. Cooldown 8/7.5/7/6.5/6.
  • Divine Judgment (R): grants an ally invulnerability and rains swords around her target. Cooldown 160/120/80.

Fire waves are the payoff. Once Divine Ascent adds them, every attack splashes, and on a lane this narrow that means she’s hitting two or three champions at a time from range. Divine Judgment is the other big piece. Invulnerability on your diving tank, or on yourself when an assassin jumps in, can flip a whole fight. Her early levels? Rough. Radiant Blast and Celestial Blessing are all she has, so stay behind your frontline and farm with the slow.

What is the best Kayle ARAM build?

Nashor’s Tooth first. It packs 80 Ability Power, 50% Attack Speed and Icathian Bite for magic damage on every hit, which fits a champion whose attacks already carry Starfire Spellblade damage.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade second. Each attack adds a stack of Seething Strike (8% Attack Speed apiece, four stacks max), and a fully stacked Kayle doubles her on-hit effects on every third swing. Wrath adds 30 magic damage on-hit. With fire waves, that’s a lot of splash damage.

Rabadon’s Deathcap is third, because Starfire Spellblade and the fire waves both scale with Ability Power, and Magical Opus multiplies the total by 30% on top of the 130 it gives directly. Zhonya’s Hourglass finishes the build: 2.5 seconds of Stasis buys time when an assassin reaches her, and its 50 Armor offsets part of the 110% damage taken. Berserker’s Greaves for 30% Attack Speed; Mercury’s Treads if the enemy comp is all crowd control.

How should Kayle position in teamfights?

  • Stay behind your frontline early. She’s melee until Divine Ascent adds range.
  • Farm with Radiant Blast. It pierces and slows, which also keeps divers off you.
  • Save Divine Judgment for the champion about to die. It’s 160 seconds at rank 1.
  • Use Celestial Blessing on the way in or out. It heals and speeds up you and the nearest ally.
  • Pick up health relics. There’s no recall to heal.

Which summoner spells and fountain buys suit Kayle?

Lobby choices are final for the match. Flash is the standard pick for a carry with no dash. Mark doesn’t fit her, since a snowball dash puts a fragile scaling champion in the middle of the enemy team. Thing is, her best spell is the one that keeps her alive long enough to reach the late game.

Shopping happens at the fountain only, at the start and after each death. How soon should Nashor’s Tooth be done? By the first or second trip back, ideally, since everything else in her build leans on it. Health relics, sure, but only the ones on your side of the fight.

Is Kayle good in ARAM?

Late, very. Early, not at all. The nerfs (95% damage dealt, 110% damage taken) make her start harder, but fire waves in a crowded lane and a team-saving invulnerability give her a strong finish. Assassins and hard engage are her problem.

Our Kayle counters guide shows who punishes her early, and her looks are collected on the Kayle skins page.

Long story short, the Kayle ARAM build is Nashor’s Tooth, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Rabadon’s Deathcap and Zhonya’s Hourglass on Berserker’s Greaves: survive early, farm with Radiant Blast, then splash fire waves across their team.
