Camille ARAM Build and Guide

Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.

A Camille ARAM build is fighter items that reward one long trade, on a champion the Howling Abyss props up from every side: 105% damage dealt, 95% damage taken, 120% healing, 110% shielding and 10 bonus Ability Haste. Five adjustments for a wall-jumper on a map with two walls. That’s not a coincidence.

The items below were read out of their patch 26.21 descriptions, one by one. Win rates weren’t consulted.

How is Camille changed in ARAM?

ARAM modifier Camille
Damage dealt 105%
Damage taken 95%
Healing 120%
Shielding 110%
Ability Haste +10

Five lines, and all five point the same way. She deals 105% damage, takes 95%, heals for 120% of normal, shields for 110%, and gets a flat 10 Ability Haste that stacks with whatever haste the items bring. Why so generous? Because the Howling Abyss removes most of what Camille is for. Hookshot needs a wall, and the lane has one on each side and nothing in between. The Hextech Ultimatum isolates one champion, which on Summoner’s Rift means a kill and on the Abyss means four other champions standing right there, hitting her through the circle. So Riot pays her back: the healing bump feeds Tactical Sweep, the shielding bump feeds Adaptive Defenses, and the haste shortens a Hookshot that is a 16 second cooldown at rank 1 (every second counts when there are two walls).

Why does Camille fit the Howling Abyss?

Because the two walls she does have are always next to the fight. Riot’s data for patch 26.21:

  • Adaptive Defenses (passive): basic attacks on champions grant a shield worth a percentage of her maximum Health against that champion’s damage type, physical or magic, for a brief duration.
  • Precision Protocol (Q): her next attack deals bonus damage and grants Move Speed. A recast is available for a short period, and the second hit deals significantly more if she delays between the two. Cooldown 9/8/7/6/5.
  • Tactical Sweep (W): after a delay she blasts a cone. Enemies in the outer half take extra damage, are slowed, and heal her. Cooldown 12/11.5/11/10.5/10.
  • Hookshot (E): she pulls herself to a wall, leaps off and knocks up enemy champions where she lands. Cooldown 16/15/14/13/12.
  • The Hextech Ultimatum (R): she dashes to a target champion and anchors them to the area, dealing bonus magic damage to them with her attacks. Cooldown 140/115/90.

Camille on the Abyss is a side-lane assassin in a hallway. Her targets stand in a clump between two walls, which is where Hookshot’s landing knocks up more than one of them, and Tactical Sweep’s outer half, the part that heals her, catches several champions at once in a crowd. The healing is 120% of normal here. Hit three champions with the outer cone and that’s a lot of Health back. And the ultimate? Anchoring the enemy mage next to their own team is a bad idea on paper. In practice it works when the anchored champion is the one everybody else was about to focus anyway, because now that champion can’t leave and Camille has 110% shielding against their damage type. The weakness is obvious. She has 125 range, one gap closer, and five people who all saw her coming.

What should a Camille ARAM build focus on?

Attack Damage with Health, plus Ability Haste on top of the free 10, so Hookshot and the Q come back for the next fight. Four items from the current patch.

Trinity Force first, as always for her. The stats are 36 Attack Damage, 30% Attack Speed, 333 Health and 15 Ability Haste; the passives are Spellblade (bonus physical damage On-Hit on the attack after an ability) and Quicken (20 Move Speed for 2 seconds whenever she attacks). Precision Protocol is two empowered attacks with a cast in between, which is two Spellblade procs if you space them. Funny enough, that’s the reason the item has been glued to her for years.

Ravenous Hydra second, because the Abyss is a crowd. 65 Attack Damage, 15 Ability Haste and 12% Life Steal, Cleave makes attacks deal physical damage to nearby enemies, and Ravenous Crescent is an active that damages everything around her with Life Steal applied. Life Steal is healing, and healing is 120% here. Every Q on a clump cleaves, every cleave heals, and a Camille inside her own ultimate with four enemies around her is, for once, in a good spot for it.

Sterak’s Gage is third, with 400 Health and 20% Tenacity, plus bonus Attack Damage from The Claws that Catch. Lifeline grants a decaying Shield for 4.5 seconds when damage would drop her below 30% Health, and shields on her are 30% bigger, well, 110% of normal to be exact. The Tenacity matters as much as the shield. A Camille stunned mid-ultimate is a Camille who built a cage for herself.

Death’s Dance is the fourth slot, bringing 60 Attack Damage alongside 50 Armor and 15 Ability Haste. Ignore Pain spreads a share of the damage she takes over 3 seconds, and Defy cleanses what’s left and restores Health over 2 seconds when a champion she damaged within 3 seconds dies. The Hextech Ultimatum exists to make one champion die, and the Defy heal is, again, 120% of normal. Against a team of mages, Maw of Malmortius instead, 60 Attack Damage and 40 Magic Resist with a magic damage shield below 30% Health. Boots: Plated Steelcaps against attackers, Mercury’s Treads against anyone with a stun (so, usually).

How do you play Camille on the Howling Abyss?

  • Hookshot along the wall, not across the lane. She pulls herself to a wall and leaps off it, and the Abyss walls run the length of the lane, so the approach is sideways, from the edge.
  • Sweep the crowd with the outer half. Only the outer half of Tactical Sweep heals her, and at 120% healing a cone through three champions is her sustain.
  • Ultimate the champion who’s already being focused. The Hextech Ultimatum anchors them to the area, so pick the one your team wants dead, not the one farthest away.
  • Space the Q. The recast deals significantly more if she waits, and the 10 bonus Ability Haste means the next Precision Protocol is never far off.
  • Attack the damage type you fear. Adaptive Defenses shields against the type of the champion she attacked, and at 110% shielding the choice of first target is a defensive one.

How do shopping and Mark change the game on the Howling Abyss?

There’s no recall on this map, which makes the fountain your only shop: once at the start, then after every death. For Camille the first full item is the one that matters, and the components should point at it. Sheen first. Spellblade on Precision Protocol is a trade-winning passive from the first buy, and a Camille who dies early with Sheen and boots is still a Camille who hits hard on respawn. Then Phage for the Health, then the rest of Trinity Force. Thing is, the healing relics along the lane are less important for her than for most melee champions, since Tactical Sweep heals and heals at 120%, so leave them to the squishier teammates (the relics, not the fights).

Mark, the snowball spell, lets you dash to the champion it hits, and on Camille that’s a second Hookshot without the wall. Throw it, dash, Hookshot off the nearest wall from there, ultimate. That’s three movement steps on a champion the enemy thinks has one. To be fair, it’s also three steps into five people, and the way back is the same walls you came in along. Real talk: pick the fights where your team is one step behind you, not five.

Is Camille good in ARAM?

Yes, with every number on her side. 105% damage dealt, 95% damage taken, 120% healing, 110% shielding and 10 Ability Haste are Riot’s answer to a wall-jumper on a map with two walls, and the answer is enough. She’s a side-entry fighter here, not an assassin, and the ultimate is a pick tool for the champion your team was already on.

The top laners who deny the Hookshot on the Rift are in the Camille counters guide. Our guide to LoL roles explains why fighters like her live in the top lane. The item database has a page for each item above (with patch history), and the Camille skins page has her cosmetics.

Put simply: Trinity Force, Hydra, Sterak’s, Death’s Dance, and Hookshot in from the side. That’s the Camille ARAM build. The walls are the same two every game, so learn them once.

FAQ

Is Camille buffed in ARAM?

Yes, on five counts: 105% damage dealt, 95% damage taken, 120% healing, 110% shielding and 10 bonus Ability Haste, per the Wiki’s champion data for patch 26.21.

What items does the Camille ARAM build use?

Trinity Force, Ravenous Hydra, Sterak’s Gage and Death’s Dance, or Maw of Malmortius against mages, with Plated Steelcaps or Mercury’s Treads.

Can Camille use Hookshot on the Howling Abyss?

Yes. The lane has a wall along each side, and Hookshot pulls her to any wall in range before she leaps off it, so the approach comes from the lane’s edge rather than across it.

Who should Camille ultimate on the Howling Abyss?

The champion your team is already attacking. The Hextech Ultimatum anchors the target to the area, so it keeps a focused target from escaping, and isolating a far-away champion next to their own team usually ends badly.

Were win rates used for this build?

No. Every choice here traces back to Camille’s ability descriptions for patch 26.21 and the item numbers, not to statistics.
