Darius Skins

15 skins available

Darius has one of the better skin catalogs in League and I will die on that hill. Been maining him on and off since season 3, mostly as a top lane counterpick when the enemy locks in a melee comp with zero peel. 15 skins deep now. Three Legendaries, three Mythics, and a handful of cheaper options that still hold up. Not every champion gets that kind of treatment from Riot. Some of these skins changed how I feel about playing the champion entirely, and a couple are straight up forgettable. Thats just how it goes with a roster this big.

How Darius Built Up 15 Skins Over the Years

Darius dropped in 2012 and the skin train started basically right away. Lord Darius and Bioforge Darius were the early ones, back when Riot's skin quality was... inconsistent to put it nicely. Bioforge is technically the oldest, and you can tell. The textures look muddy compared to anything released after 2016. Still got some nostalgic value if you been around long enough to remember when that splash looked impressive.

The catalog really picked up momentum around 2014-2015. Woad King gave him a tribal fantasy that felt fresh at the time. Then Dunkmaster dropped in 2014 and honestly changed the whole conversation about Darius skins forever. That was the moment Riot proved they could make a meme skin that actually plays well. Academy came after, budget tier, decent for what it costs.

Fast forward to 2018 and God-King Darius arrives. Peak Legendary execution. Then the pace kept rolling through 2020, 2021, 2022 with High Noon, Lunar Beast, Crime City Nightmare, Spirit Blossom, Porcelain. Riot clearly knows Darius prints money. The newest addition is Prestige Triumphant General Darius from 2025, which means he's still getting love after 13 years. Three Legendaries is wild for any champion. Three Mythics on top of that? Darius mains eat good.

Kinda feels like Riot treats him as a safe bet whenever they need a bruiser rep in a new skinline. Can't blame them. He's popular in every elo from Iron to Challenger, always relevant in solo queue. The five Epics fill in the gaps nicely, and the four Standards give budget players options that dont look terrible. Solid spread across tiers honestly.

Best Darius Skins to Lock In

God-King Darius. Full stop. Been saying this since it dropped in 2018 and nothing has changed my mind. The entire model is a complete overhaul. His Q - Decimate - has this massive golden axe sweep that feels heavier than base. W slam hits with divine authority, E pull looks like you're commanding the battlefield itself. The ult? When you execute someone with Noxian Guillotine in this skin, the screen effect is chef's kiss. New voice lines, new animations, the wolf companion. Could be wrong here but I think this is top 3 Legendary skins in the entire game, not just for Darius.

Dunkmaster Darius sits right behind it. Legendary tier, 1820 RP, released back in 2014. The basketball theme sounds stupid on paper and absolutely works in practice. His Q is a basketball spin, his ult is a literal dunk. The recall animation where he does a free throw? Played maybe 150 games with this skin over the years and the novelty hasnt worn off. (Random aside: my friends still call Darius "LeBron" in comms because of this skin and its been like 8 years.) The joke and taunt voice lines are genuinely funny which is rare for League.

Mecha Kingdoms Darius is the third Legendary and its a completely different vibe. Futuristic mecha aesthetic, transforms during ult. The Q animation with the mechanical axe extending outward looks clean in teamfights. Feels more serious than Dunkmaster, less mythical than God-King. Good option if you want something modern without the meme factor.

Not gonna lie, Dreadnova Darius deserves a mention even though most people will never own it. Mythic tier, special currency only. The sci-fi armor with the orange energy effects looks phenomenal. His abilities have this burning plasma feel that reads clearly on the Rift. If you got the Mythic Essence or rolled it from a chest, keep it. Worth flexing.

High Noon Darius is probably the best Epic in his catalog. The Western gunslinger crossed with executioner theme fits him perfectly. Q has dust particles, the ult has this sunset guillotine drop effect. Grabbed it on release day back in 2020 and used it exclusively for two months in ranked. Strong contender if you dont want to spend Legendary money.

Skinlines and Where Darius Fits

Darius shows up in a lot of skinlines and honestly fits most of them. Battle of the God-Kings is the obvious standout. That event in 2018 where you picked Darius or Garen? Peak League marketing. The God-King line gave him a mythological warlord identity that meshes perfectly with his lore as the Hand of Noxus. Divine God-King pushed that even further as a Mythic variant.

Dunkmaster is its own thing. Not sure if it's just me but that skinline never really expanded the way I expected. Darius and a couple others. The basketball court recall, the sneakers, the jersey. It works because Darius already has the "dunk" identity built into his kit with his ult reset mechanic. Thematic fit is 10/10.

High Noon grabbed him and it made sense. Executioner with a big axe in a Western setting? Easy sell. The Woad skinline is older League, that Celtic warrior vibe from season 4 or 5. It aged okay but feels dated next to anything post-2018. Academy is the lighthearted slice-of-life line, Darius as a school delinquent. Cute concept, nothing groundbreaking. Spirit Blossom and Porcelain are the recent thematic pushes - Riot putting him in Asian-inspired fantasy settings. Both look good, Spirit Blossom especially has some gorgeous VFX on his Q and ult.

Crime City Nightmare Darius from 2021 went darker. Eldritch noir aesthetic. Might be overthinking it but that skin feels underrated in the community. The tentacle effects on his abilities are unsettling in the best way. Not every Darius player wants to look noble or funny. Sometimes you want to look terrifying while you're running down the enemy top laner pre-6.

Budget Picks vs Going All In

Real talk though. You don't need to spend 1820 RP to have a good-looking Darius. The Standards start at 750 RP and Woad King Darius at 975 still looks clean for the price. Lord Darius at 750 is the absolute cheapest option and its fine for what it is. Basic model swap, different armor color. Nothing flashy but nothing embarrassing either.

At the Epic level, 1350 RP gets you way more. High Noon is my recommendation if you want one Epic skin and thats it. Crime City Nightmare is the pick for players who want something darker. Lunar Beast Darius has that Lunar New Year flair, solid VFX, good splash. (Sidebar for Darius one-tricks specifically: you probably already own 8 of these so this advice isnt for you.)

The Legendaries at 1820 RP are where the real value lives though. God-King and Dunkmaster both justify the price with new VO, new animations, completely transformed ability VFX. If you're climbing ranked and want to feel good about your champion, investing in one Legendary beats owning three mediocre Epics. Played both extensively in Diamond last season and the God-King recall animation alone is worth it for the mental game in lane.

Mythics are a different conversation. You cant just buy Dreadnova or Divine God-King with RP. Either you have the Mythic Essence saved up or you dont. If you do, Dreadnova is the play. The plasma effects are unique to that skin and you'll rarely see another one in your games. Seen maybe 4 total in my last 300 ranked matches.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Darius have?

15 skins total as of 2025. Thats a big catalog by any standard. Four Standards, five Epics, three Legendaries, three Mythics. He's been getting consistent releases since 2012 so Riot clearly sees him as a priority champion for skins. Not every top laner gets this kind of love.

What is the best Darius skin?

God-King Darius. No contest in my opinion. New VO, completely overhauled model and VFX, the wolf companion, and that ult execution effect. Been running it since 2018 and still not bored. Dunkmaster is a close second if you want the meme factor. Both Legendaries, both worth 1820 RP.

What is the cheapest Darius skin?

Lord Darius at 750 RP. Basic model swap with different armor but it gets the job done if you're on a budget. Woad King at 975 RP is the next step up and honestly looks better for not much more. Both permanent shop skins so you can grab either whenever.

Does Darius have a Legendary skin?

Three Legendaries actually. Dunkmaster Darius from 2014, God-King Darius from 2018, and Mecha Kingdoms Darius. All three have new voice lines, unique animations, and completely redone ability VFX. Having three Legendaries puts him in rare company. Most champions are lucky to get one.

What skinlines is Darius in?

A bunch. Battle of the God-Kings, Dunkmaster, High Noon, Woad, Academy, Dreadnova, Spirit Blossom, Porcelain, Crime City Nightmare, Lunar Beast, and Mecha Kingdoms. Riot puts him in basically every major skinline they launch. Makes sense given his popularity across all ranks on the Rift.

Does Darius have chromas?

Yeah, several of his Epic and higher skins have chromas. High Noon, Spirit Blossom, Crime City Nightmare, Lunar Beast, and Porcelain all got chroma sets. The Ruby chromas are usually free with bundles on release. If you missed the bundle window you can still pick individual chromas up with BE during Essence Emporium events.

When was Darius's last skin released?

Prestige Triumphant General Darius in 2025. Mythic tier. So he's still actively getting new cosmetics, which is a good sign for mains who want fresh options. Riot hasnt slowed down on Darius content even after 13 years. Expect more honestly.

Is Darius worth buying skins for?

If you play him regularly, absolutely. His Legendaries are some of the best in the game and the Epic options punch above their weight too. Hes a champion where skins genuinely change how the gameplay feels because his animations are so central to the kit. Spamming Q in lane with God-King VFX just hits different than base.
