How to verify email
- Settings (gear icon) → Account Info.
- Enter email address → Save.
- Check email inbox for Roblox verification message.
- Click “Verify your email” link.
- Return to Roblox — email is now verified; shield icon appears beside it.
How to verify phone number
- Settings → Account Info → Add Phone Number.
- Enter your mobile number with country code (not landline or VoIP).
- Roblox sends an SMS code.
- Enter the code → phone is verified.
- Phone verification enables SMS-based 2-step verification as an option.
How to verify age (ID verification)
- Settings → Age Verification.
- Upload a government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, national ID).
- Take a selfie to confirm the ID matches you.
- Processing takes minutes to hours — sometimes 1-3 days.
- Verification result sent to your email and shown in Settings.
- Your name and date of birth on the ID must match your Roblox account.
Verification data and privacy
- Roblox uses a third-party identity service for age verification.
- Your ID is encrypted and used only for age verification.
- Roblox stores a Yes/No age flag, not the actual document long-term.

If verification isn’t working
- Email verification link expired? → request a new one from Settings.
- SMS code not arriving? → check carrier; try email code if SMS blocked.
- ID verification rejected? → ensure document is clear, well-lit, and your name matches your Roblox account.
- Name mismatch on ID? → update your Roblox account name to match your legal name on the ID.
- Age under 17 but want 17+ access? → cannot bypass; wait until 17.

Why does Roblox verify age?
Age gates certain features: voice chat requires 13+, 17+ experiences require 17+ verified. Verification also enables DevEx cash-out and some privacy protections for younger users.
What ID can I use?
Government-issued photo ID: passport, driver’s license, national ID card. Student IDs and work IDs are not accepted. The ID must show your full name and date of birth clearly.

Is my ID photo kept forever?
