The spotlight’s on Season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals, and it’s bringing a storm of changes – especially in the Team-Up department. With the patch notes now out in the wild, players can get a full rundown of all the updated, added, and removed Team-Ups shaking things up this season. Whether you’re a hero main or just team-curious, here’s everything you need to know.
🔥 New Team-Ups Arriving in Season 2.5
1. Symbiote Shenanigans
Jeff the Land Shark just leveled up. He’s now borrowing Venom’s symbiote powers to whip out healing tendrils that link with nearby allies. In chaotic team brawls, this Team-Up lets Jeff deliver sustained healing to multiple teammates – potentially turning losing fights into game-winning moments.
2. Operation Microchip
The Punisher’s got Black Widow’s back – literally. This Team-Up gives her a new rifle firing mode that pierces enemies while aiming down sights. It’s a much-needed boost for Widow’s lethality and could make her a more viable pick in competitive play.
3. Chilling Assault
Hawkeye meets Luna Snow. With her ice at his disposal, he can fire a terrain-piercing arrow that stuns and deals bonus damage from long range. It’s a serious upgrade to his crowd control game – suddenly, keeping your distance from Hawkeye isn’t as safe as it used to be.
4. Rocket Network
Peni Parker and Rocket Raccoon combine their tech-savvy brilliance. Peni can now deploy a second Bionic Spider-Nest that cranks out armor packs, while Rocket’s beacon morphs into a mini-nest spewing Spider-Drones and Arachno-Mines. Defensive plays just got an overwhelming new layer of chaos – and yes, it’s as terrifying as it sounds.
5. Stark Protocol
Ultron just borrowed Tony Stark’s Unibeam. This piercing blast doesn’t just wreck enemies – it also heals allies. Think of it as a more aggressive version of Invisible Woman’s basic attack, but with bigger splash and staying power. Expect some wild team-saving plays.
6. Jeff-Nado
You asked. Marvel delivered. Jeff and Storm fuse their ultimates into a wild tornado that drags enemies in, dishes out tons of damage, and finishes with Jeff chomping the leftovers. It’s a play on “Sharknado” and a hilarious (yet deadly) Team-Up that’s bound to get some love. With two new Team-Ups this season, Jeff is definitely having a moment.
❌ Team-Ups Getting Removed in Season 2.5
Out with the old – these four Team-Ups are being retired this season:
Chilling Charisma
Allied Agents
Ammo Overload
Symbiote Bond
Whether these will return in a reworked form later remains to be seen, but for now, they’re off the battlefield.
⚙️ Team-Ups Getting Adjusted
Gamma Charge
Iron Man is officially out of this combo. Starting in Season 2.5, he’ll no longer be able to access the infamous Gamma Overdrive. This change dials back the overpowered synergy he had with it – and yes, Hulk mains are breathing a sigh of relief.
Season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals goes live on May 30, 2025, and it’s shaping up to be a major shakeup for Team-Up dynamics. Whether you’re strategizing your next comp or just here for Jeff’s glorious tornado, there’s plenty to dive into.
