First game I played with Zesty Dip Zac I genuinely could not stop laughing at the recall animation. Zac as a glob of guacamole-looking dip with tortilla chips sticking out of him is exactly the kind of stupid Riot excels at. Not gonna lie, I wasnt expecting to like this one as much as I do. Locked it in for a dozen ranked games the week it dropped and it stayed in my rotation for months.
What Zesty Dip Zac actually looks like in game
The model turns Zac into this thick, chunky dip. Yellow-green base color with visible chips embedded in his body. Every time he stretches for Q or launches with E, you see the texture warp and the chips shift around. Small detail but it sells the whole fantasy.
VFX got a full rework for this tier. His Q connects with these splashy sauce particles. W pulses out rings of what looks like salsa dripping outward. E launch trail has chip fragments scattering behind him. The R bounces – honestly the best part – leave these massive splat marks on the ground like someone dropped a bowl of dip. Playing this skin, the teamfight VFX really pop against the Rift’s darker terrain.
Recall is where Riot went all in. Zac morphs into a full dip bowl shape, chips arrange around him like a party platter, then he cannonballs back to base. Been spamming this in Diamond and I hit recall in front of the enemy bot lane just to flex the animation. Worth it even when my jungler pinged me for it (random aside: the recall sound design is criminally underrated on this skin).
Voice lines stay base. No new VO which is expected at 1350 RP. Standard for the tier. Zac’s default lines still work fine here because his personality already has that goofy energy that matches the Food Fight theme.
The Food Fight line and release context
Food Fight dropped April 3, 2024. Late season 14 start. Rudy Siswanto nailed the splash – Zac front and center looking like the world’s most aggressive appetizer. The composition has him mid-stretch with chips flying everywhere and its one of those splashes that immediately tells you what the skin is about.
The Food Fight skinline is one of Riot’s goofier collections. Kinda feels like they looked at the success of stuff like Cafe Cuties and thought “what if we went dumber.” And honestly it works. Zac fits the Food Fight line better than most champions would because his blob physique translates naturally into food. He already looks like he could be something edible.
8 chromas total. Chocolate Fondue is the standout for me – turns him into this rich brown that reads like melted chocolate and the chips look like they belong in a fondue set. Black Sesame goes dark and moody which is a weird contrast with the silly theme but I respect it. Forest Berry Jelly hits this purple tone that honestly looks cleaner than base in certain lighting on Summoner’s Rift. Could be wrong here but I think the Guacamole chroma is redundant since base Zesty Dip Zac already looks pretty guacamole-adjacent.
Is Zesty Dip Zac worth 1350 RP?
Real verdict: if you play Zac at all, this skin earns its price. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, a recall that actually makes people in your game type in chat, and a model that commits fully to the bit. Played maybe 40 games with this thing since April 2024 and I still notice new particle details.
Zac’s skin catalog is weird. You got Pool Party which is solid, Battlecast which goes serious, SKT which is whatever. Zesty Dip Zac sits in that sweet spot where it’s funny without being obnoxious. Not sure if it’s just me but the Q and E animations feel slightly smoother on this skin compared to base – probably placebo but I’ll take it.
Skip this if you hate joke skins. Grab it if you main Zac or even just pull him out for jungle clear sessions in norms. Shop has it. Top pick for Zac mains who want something that matches his personality. That ranked game last Thursday where my Zac E landed on three people in dragon pit and the dip splatter covered the whole screen? Thats the kind of moment this skin was made for.
