Faerie Court Milio

Milio dropped into the game and within weeks Riot already had a Faerie Court skin lined up for him. March 23, 2023. Kid barely got to exist before they dressed him up like a woodland prince. Not gonna lie, when I first saw the splash I thought it looked way too polished for a champion most people hadnt even figured out how to play yet. But after locking in Milio support for maybe 40 games in Diamond with this skin equipped, I get it now.

What Faerie Court Milio actually brings

The base Milio kit is already colorful. Warm oranges, playful fire sprites. Faerie Court takes that warmth and cools it down into this ethereal blue-green palette that reads completely different on the Rift. His Q, the fireball kick, trails these delicate petal particles instead of the standard flame burst. Looks clean. The W shield aura shifts to a softer luminescent glow, almost like fireflies circling your ADC during lane phase.

E is where I noticed the biggest change. The empowered auto attacks from your teammates get this sparkle effect that’s subtle but visible enough in teamfights. Played a game last Wednesday where my Jinx had the buff active and the particle contrast against river was genuinely nice to track.

His R, the big cleanse and heal, blooms out in this burst of faerie dust and petals. Solid visual payoff for an ult that otherwise just looks like a green circle on base. Voice lines stay base, no new VO on this one. But the recall animation is new and fits the Faerie Court theme: Milio does this little courtly bow with his fire companion transforming into a butterfly creature. Short and sweet.

(Random aside: the recall animation alone made my duo partner switch from base skin to this one mid-session.)

The Faerie Court line and where Milio fits

Faerie Court as a skinline has some heavy hitters. Katarina, Ezreal, Fiora, Kalista, Seraphine. Milio sitting in that roster feels a bit odd at first since he’s this wholesome support kid surrounded by assassins and carries. But kinda feels like that contrast works in his favor. Fortune ‘Fortuneee’ K nailed the splash, capturing Milio in this regal garden setting that makes him look like actual fae royalty instead of a fire boy from Ixtal.

Released during patch cycle in early season 13. The Faerie Court batch was one of Riot’s stronger thematic drops that year. Could be wrong here but I think Milio’s version holds up better than some of the flashier ones in the set because the simpler champion model lets the skin details breathe more.

This is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP. Permanent shop. Standard pricing for new VFX and a new recall, which is exactly what you expect at this price point.

Chromas and which ones matter

9 chromas total on Faerie Court Milio. Thats a lot of options for a support skin. Obsidian is my pick, the dark palette against the faerie particles creates this contrast that pops hard in bot lane specifically. Rose Quartz leans into the pink aesthetic if you want something softer, and Aquamarine basically turns him into a water sprite which I think reads better than the base color scheme honestly.

Been running this in Diamond for a couple seasons now whenever I get Milio in my support rotation. The skin doesnt change how the champion plays obviously, but the cleaner particle work on Q and R makes ability tracking slightly easier in chaotic teamfights. Maybe just my experience but the petal VFX on the ult feel more readable than the base fire burst when there’s 10 champions stacked on dragon pit around 25 minutes in.

Should you buy Faerie Court Milio?

Real verdict: if you play Milio at all, this is the skin. Full stop. He only has a few options and Faerie Court is the most complete package. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New particles across every ability, clean recall, strong splash art. No new voice lines holds it back from being exceptional, but for an Epic that launched alongside the champion’s debut window, Riot put in the work here.

Skip it if you’re not a Milio player. Pick it up if you main him or play enchanter supports regularly. The Obsidian chroma specifically elevates the whole thing. Been season 13 through now and I still havent found a reason to swap off it. S-tier Milio cosmetic, not that there’s much competition yet. Give it two more years and a Legendary and we’ll talk, but right now Faerie Court is the one.
