First time I saw Eternal Dragon Brand in a loading screen I thought it was a Legendary. Honest reaction. The splash hits that hard. Brand already has the whole fire mage thing locked down but wrapping him in dragon armor with celestial flame effects takes it somewhere else entirely. Been running this as my default Brand skin since around mid season 11 and I keep coming back to it over everything else in his catalog.

VFX and what actually changes

So the base model gets a full dragon-themed overhaul. Brand’s armor has these layered scales with gold and white accents, and the flames shift from standard orange to this ethereal blue-white energy. Looks clean. The Q pillar of flame reads differently in lane because the projectile color change is significant enough that it messes with your muscle memory for dodging if you’re on the receiving end. Not sure if it’s just me but I swear people sidestep my Qs less with this skin equipped.

W is where the VFX really pop. The pillar drops with a dragon sigil on the ground before detonation, and the circle itself has sharper particle edges than base Brand. E spread looks more like crackling lightning than fire, which is a cool distinction. Ult bounce keeps the dragon energy theme and the bouncing effect between targets in a teamfight is genuinely easier to track than default.

New recall animation too. Brand does this whole dragon summoning pose, very Dragonmancers flavor. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but honestly Brand’s base voice is menacing enough that it doesnt hurt the fantasy. The auto attack particles got touched up as well. Smoother feel on the autos when you’re trying to cs in lane.

The Dragonmancers line and release context

Eternal Dragon Brand dropped October 1, 2020. Late into season 10, right around Worlds time if I remember. Terence ‘Terrylefruit’ Cantal and West Studio handled the artwork, and they cooked on this one. The splash captures Brand mid-transformation with dragon energy swirling around him. (Random aside: this splash rotated as my desktop wallpaper for like three months straight.)

The Dragonmancers skinline is one of Riot’s stronger thematic sets. Brand fits the dragon aesthetic naturally since he’s already a fire caster. Some champions feel forced into skinlines but Brand channeling ancient dragon power just makes sense. The line includes champions across multiple roles so you can run a full Dragonmancers comp if your team is feeling it.

9 chromas total for Eternal Dragon Brand. Obsidian is my pick, the dark scales with shadow flame give off a corrupted dragon vibe that reads way better than base in my Diamond games. Emberclaw goes for this deep crimson and black palette that hits different at night. Jadeclaw with the green energy is solid too if you want something that stands out on the Rift. The rest are fine but those three carry the chroma lineup.

Is Eternal Dragon Brand worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is the best Brand skin if you main him as support or mid. Could be wrong here but I think it edges out Zombie Brand purely on VFX clarity. Zombie Brand has the novelty factor and the walking animation but Eternal Dragon Brand gives you cleaner particle reads in teamfights, which matters when you’re trying to track your passive procs on multiple targets.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX across all abilities, solid recall, strong model redesign. This Epic tier skin punches above its weight. Been spamming this in Diamond ranked for multiple seasons now and I’ve maybe seen 4 or 5 other people using it, which is wild because the skin deserves more attention. Shop has it permanently so no rush, but if you play Brand at all this should be the first skin you grab. Skip Spirit Fire, skip Arclight, go straight to Eternal Dragon Brand. That ranked game last Thursday where my Brand support carried a 4v5 after our Kayn disconnected? This skin was on. Felt right.

Might be overthinking it but there’s something about the auto attack feel on this skin that makes laning smoother. Placebo or not, I’ll take it. Worth every RP for Brand mains, and even if you only pull him out occasionally for support autofill games, Eternal Dragon Brand makes the pick feel premium.
