Battle Academia Briar

First time I saw this skin pop up on PBE I thought Riot finally cracked the code on Briar. Not gonna lie, the Battle Academia line has been hit or miss over the years but Briar in a school uniform with that unhinged energy? Sold. Locked it in day one and took it straight into ranked around midnight, queued up three games back to back. The vibe is chaotic student who skipped every class and showed up just to fight. Perfect fit.

What Battle Academia Briar actually looks like in game

So the model swap puts Briar in this academy outfit with the signature Battle Academia color palette. Red and gold accents, styled hair instead of the feral mess she usually has. Kinda feels like they gave her a makeover but she’s still ready to bite someone’s face off. The contrast works.

Voice lines stay base. No new VO here which is expected for an Epic. Base voice lines, no changes. Her Q still has the same lunge animation but the outfit sells it differently. Something about a school girl diving at your ADC in bot lane hits funnier than base Briar doing it. The W heal zone reads cleanly against the Rift too, no visual clutter issues I noticed in my Diamond games.

Might be overthinking it but the auto attack animations feel snappier with this skin. Probably placebo. Still though, after maybe 40 games with it I keep coming back. The recall is standard, nothing new added there. E knockback looks fine. R is the same long range dive but the outfit flapping during the flight is a nice touch even if its not a new animation. Clean skin overall.

Battle Academia and where Briar fits in

Battle Academia launched years ago with Ezreal and Lux carrying the line. Since then Riot has been adding champions that fit the anime school fighter fantasy. Briar slots in naturally. She’s the feral transfer student energy. The skinline has over a dozen champions now and Briar honestly feels like she should have been in it from the start.

8 chromas total for Battle Academia Briar. Obsidian goes full dark mode which pairs well with the vampire aesthetic, and Rose Quartz softens the whole look into something almost cute. Pearl is clean if you want that prestige-adjacent vibe without spending prestige money. The rest fill out the usual spread but those three stood out to me specifically.

No splash artist credited in the data I have. Whoever handled it captured Briar mid-lunge with that manic grin though. Banger splash. (Random aside: been using it as my Discord avatar for weeks now and nobody’s asked who the champion is, they just say it looks cool.) Shop has it, permanent availability so no rush to grab it.

Should you pick up Battle Academia Briar

Real verdict: this is a solid Epic for Briar mains. Not the flashiest skin in the world but Briar doesnt have a massive skin catalog yet so the competition is thin. Street Demons has a different vibe, Primordian goes full creature horror. Battle Academia sits in the middle as the “clean” option.

Been running this in ranked for a while now. Last Thursday I had a game where I ulted from river into their Jinx under tower, got the kill, and the Battle Academia outfit made the whole play look like an anime scene. My duo lost it. Worth it for moments like that alone.

Could be wrong here but I think this is the best “everyday” Briar skin right now. The one you default to when you dont want something too edgy or too weird. Fair price for the package assuming standard Epic pricing. If you main Briar or you’re spamming her in jungle this season while climbing, this skin just fits. Skip it if you already have Street Demons and prefer that darker aesthetic, but for everyone else maining Briar in solo queue this is the pick. Top pick for Briar mains who want something clean without going full monster mode.
