Briar is one of the newer champions on the Rift and her skin catalog is tiny compared to veterans like Lux or Ezreal. Three skins total. That's it. But honestly? The quality across all three is surprisingly solid for a champion who dropped in 2023. Been playing Briar since her release patch, mostly in Diamond jungle, and every skin she has feels like Riot actually tried. Not gonna lie, thats rare for a champion this young. Most new releases get one launch skin and then radio silence for a year. Briar got consistent attention and it shows.

Briar's Skin Collection So Far

Three Epics at 1350 RP each. No Legendary, no budget options, no Mythic tier nonsense. Just three solid 1350s released between 2023 and 2024. For context, champions like Yone had a similar start before Riot eventually dropped a Legendary on them, so I think Briar is heading the same direction eventually. Could be wrong here but she's popular enough in solo queue to justify it.

Street Demons Briar came first as her launch skin. Then Primordian Briar and Battle Academia Briar followed in 2024. The gap between releases was short, which tells you Riot sees her as a money maker. Fair enough. She's a jungle staple in my ranked games and I see her picked or banned in maybe 40% of lobbies in Diamond right now.

The thing about having only Epic skins is that comparison shopping is easy. Same price point across the board. You're really just picking based on theme preference and VFX quality. No tier anxiety about whether the Legendary is worth the premium over an Epic because that choice doesnt exist yet. Simple catalog. (Random aside: I kind of prefer it this way? Less decision fatigue when you're loading into champ select at 1 AM.)

All three skins change particles on her abilities, give her a new model, and include recall animations. Standard Epic package. Voice lines stay base across all of them, which is fine because Briar's base VO is genuinely entertaining. The feral screaming and confused dialogue carries regardless of what skin you're wearing.

Gonna rank these based on how they actually feel in-game, not just splash art. Played all three extensively in ranked this season and last.

Street Demons Briar sits at the top for me. The graffiti-punk aesthetic just works on a champion who literally bites people. Her W particles have this spray-paint splatter effect that reads clean against the Rift. Q connection feels snappy with the red VFX trail. The R - her ult where she launches across the map - gets this sick trail of urban debris and neon. Been running this since season 13 and it still holds up. 1350 RP well spent for mains.

Not sure if it's just me but Primordian Briar hits different in teamfights specifically. The bio-organic VFX on her E are thick and visible, which actually helps your team understand your engage range. Might sound like a weird reason to prefer a skin but when you're diving the backline in a 5v5 at dragon, clarity matters. The Primordian theme turns her into this alien creature thing and honestly it fits her kit better than you'd expect. Her passive bleed gets these gross purple-green particles. Love it.

Battle Academia Briar is the newest and probably the most popular pick I see in my games. The anime school theme is peak Riot fan service but they executed it well on Briar. Her feral nature contrasted against a school uniform is funny and the skin leans into that comedy. W activation has these sparkly energy bursts. R sends her flying with a trail of academic debris - books and energy and whatever. It's clean. Probably the safest pick if you just want something that looks good without being too edgy or weird.

Kinda feels like all three are A-tier honestly. None of them are bad, none are S-tier transcendent. Good lineup for a champion with only three options. If I had to lock in one skin permanently it'd be Street Demons but I rotate all three depending on my mood that night.

Skinlines and How They Fit Briar

Street Demons is the skinline that fits Briar most naturally. The whole urban chaos rebel aesthetic matches a champion whose gameplay loop is "lose control and kill everything." She's literally a vampire who can't control her bloodlust. Street Demons channels that into punk energy. The skinline includes other aggressive champions and Briar belongs there.

Primordian takes her in a sci-fi bio-horror direction. Think Alien meets League. This one works because Briar already has that monster quality in her base design - she's not a pretty champion by default, she's feral and dangerous. Leaning into the creature fantasy feels natural. The Primordian line doesn't have a massive roster but Briar is one of the better entries. (Sidebar for jungle mains: the ganking animations on this skin feel slightly different in timing even though they aren't, something about the visual startup on W throws people off.)

Battle Academia is the oddball pick thematically. School anime and a blood-crazed vampire don't obviously mix. But Riot's done this before with other aggressive champions and it works through contrast. The skin basically asks "what if this feral monster had to attend class" and the answer is entertaining. Real talk though, if you're a Briar one-trick who cares about thematic consistency, this might not be your first choice. I think its more of a fun alternate universe skin than a serious thematic statement.

The skinline coverage is diverse for three skins. Street Demons for edgy, Primordian for sci-fi horror, Battle Academia for anime comedy. Good range. Most champions with three skins end up with two similar themes and one outlier but Briar dodged that.

Budget vs Premium Picks

This section is short because there's no budget option. All three are 1350 RP. No 750 RP bargain bin skin, no 520 throwaway. Every Briar skin is Epic tier with full particle changes, new model, and recall animation. You're spending the same money regardless.

If you only have 1350 RP to spend on one Briar skin, Street Demons gives you the most cohesive package. Best VFX clarity, best thematic fit, best splash art in my opinion. Primordian is the second pick for people who want something more unique. Battle Academia if you like the anime aesthetic specifically.

No Legendary exists yet so theres no premium tier debate. When Riot eventually drops a 1820 RP Briar skin with new voice lines and animations it'll probably become the default recommendation. Until then all three Epics compete on even ground. Honestly not gonna lie, for a jungle champion I spam in ranked, having three equally priced options with no clear "whale tax" Legendary feels refreshing. Season 14 was when I started rotating all three and havent gone back to base since.

Fair price for any of them. 1350 RP is standard Epic pricing and all three Briar skins deliver above-average quality for that price point. Worth it if you main her. Skip if you're just picking her up for a few games because you saw a montage clip on YouTube at 3 AM last Saturday.
