Street Demons Briar

First time I locked in Street Demons Briar was maybe two days after it dropped in September 2023 and I remember thinking Riot actually understood the assignment. Briar already has chaotic energy baked into her kit. Slapping a streetwear demon aesthetic on top of that? Felt natural. Not sure if it’s just me but something about the graffiti-styled VFX just makes her W feel more aggressive in lane.

What Street Demons Briar actually changes

The model rework goes harder than most Epic skins at this price point. Briar gets a full streetwear outfit with torn details, spray-paint accents, and these horns that lean into the demon half of the skinline. Base voice lines, no new VO, but honestly the voice pack already fits the vibe so it wasnt a dealbreaker for me.

New VFX across the board. Her Q bite has this neon splash effect that reads cleanly in teamfights, which matters when you’re diving the backline and need your team to see what you’re doing. The W frenzy particles get a purple-red graffiti trail that looks sick during jungle clear. E snare has paint-splatter visuals on the ground. Played maybe 40 games with this skin in Diamond last season and the ability readability is solid. No complaints there.

The recall animation is the highlight. Briar goes full street performer mode. Quick little scene that fits the Street Demons theme without overstaying its welcome. Short and punchy. Compare that to some recalls that drag on forever and you appreciate the restraint.

The Street Demons line and release context

Street Demons dropped September 13, 2023. This was Briar’s first skin outside her base, which makes sense given she released the same patch. Herbie Wang and Kudos Productions handled the splash, and they captured the energy perfectly. The composition has Briar mid-leap with city lights behind her. Clean work.

The Street Demons skinline is one of Riot’s smaller themed drops. Briar fits it better than most of the roster honestly. The whole concept is urban supernatural creatures and Briar’s hunger-driven kit translates naturally into that world. Real talk though, I think Riot designed the skin and the champion in parallel because the synergy is too tight to be coincidence.

8 chromas total for Street Demons Briar. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark colorway makes the neon VFX pop harder against the Rift. Tanzanite hits this deep purple that reads like a night-mode version. Pearl exists if you want the clean look but kinda feels like it fights the whole street demon aesthetic. 1350 RP for the base skin, standard Epic pricing. Sits in the shop permanently, grab it any time.

Should you buy Street Demons Briar?

Okay, the real question. If you main Briar this is basically a must-own. Been running this as my default Briar skin since season 13 and I keep coming back to it over her other options. The VFX changes alone justify 1350 RP. Could be wrong here but I think the ability particles are slightly easier to track in chaotic teamfights compared to base, which matters when you’re trying to peel or engage in a messy comp.

For non-Briar mains who just want a fun skin to pull out occasionally, its still solid. The recall and model quality punch above their weight for an Epic tier. I’ve seen maybe 5 of these in my Diamond games all season which is surprising given how good it looks. Might be because Briar’s pick rate fluctuates hard between patches.

Skip it only if you’re saving for a Legendary on another champ you play more. But if Briar is anywhere in your rotation, 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. The Street Demons fantasy works, the VFX are clean, and Obsidian chroma turns it into something that looks way more expensive than it is. Solid Epic. Been daily driving it and dont see myself switching any time soon.
