Super Galaxy Skins

All 8 skins in the Super Galaxy skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Super Galaxy skin in League of Legends.

Super Galaxy is one of those skinlines that just commits to the bit. Full mecha anime aesthetic, bright neon colors, over-the-top transformations. Been playing League since season 3 and I remember when Super Galaxy Rumble dropped in 2014, it felt like Riot was channeling Gurren Lagann directly into the Rift. The whole line leans into that sentai/mecha fantasy hard, and honestly it works. Not every champion fits it, but the ones that do? They go all in. Eight skins total across the roster, ranging from 1350 to 1820 RP, and the quality is surprisingly consistent for a line that started over a decade ago.

What Sets Super Galaxy Apart from Other Skinlines

Kinda feels like Riot looked at every mecha anime from the early 2000s and said "yeah, all of that." The visual signature is unmistakable. Bright neons, predominantly hot pink and electric blue, layered over sleek robotic armor. Every champion in the line gets a full mech suit treatment with glowing energy cores and jet-thruster particles. The splash arts all share that same dramatic pose energy, like each champion is about to launch into orbit for the final battle.

The VFX palette ties everything together. Pink and cyan dominate ability effects across the board. Doesnt matter if you're playing Rumble or Kindred, the particle work screams "space mecha pilot" in the same visual language. Compare that to something like PROJECT where each skin can feel disconnected from the others. Super Galaxy keeps it tight.

(Random aside: the recall animations in this line are some of my favorites in the entire game. Every single one has that dramatic transformation sequence where the champion suits up. Pure anime energy.)

What really separates it from similar tech-themed lines like Mecha or Program is the personality. Mecha skins feel cold, industrial. Program skins feel sterile. Super Galaxy has warmth to it. The colors pop, the animations are exaggerated, theres genuine fun baked into every skin. Not gonna lie, I think the tone is what keeps me coming back to these skins even years later. They dont take themselves seriously and thats the whole point.

The shared color palette also means these skins look incredible in a coordinated comp. Ran a full Super Galaxy team once in a normal game back in like season 7. Five pink and blue mechas running down mid. Absolute spectacle. We lost, but we looked good doing it.

Best Super Galaxy Skins Worth Your RP

Super Galaxy Rumble. Full stop. This is the Legendary of the line at 1820 RP and it earns every point. Released back in 2014, this skin basically defined what Super Galaxy would become. New VO, completely reworked ability VFX, unique animations. Rumble's Q flamethrower becomes this massive energy cannon effect, his W shield gets the full mecha barrier treatment, and his R is genuinely one of the most satisfying ult animations in the game. The equalizer raining down pink energy missiles? Been spamming this in ranked for years and it never gets old.

Not sure if it's just me but the voice lines carry this skin harder than almost any other Legendary in the game. Rumble goes full anime protagonist. He's shouting attack names, he's monologuing about justice and courage. It's ridiculous and perfect. Every time I lock in Super Galaxy Rumble I feel like I'm piloting a Gundam in the top lane.

Super Galaxy Shyvana is my second pick. Epic tier at 1350 RP. Her dragon form transformation gets the full mecha treatment and it looks absolutely nuts. The contrast between her human form mech suit and the giant robot dragon she becomes is peak Super Galaxy. Real talk though, the base form abilities are clean too. Q auto reset has this satisfying mechanical crunch to the particles.

Elise is a sleeper hit in the line. The spider form becomes this mechanical drone thing, and rappel looks like she's launching a grappling hook from her mech suit. Played maybe 30 games of Super Galaxy Elise in Diamond last season and the skin feels smooth. Ability clarity is solid even in chaotic teamfights.

Kindred deserves a mention too. They came in the 2017 batch and the Wolf becomes this energy construct that orbits Lamb's mech suit. The ult zone is this bright neon dome that actually reads better than most Kindred ult VFX. Good skin, maybe slightly underrated because Kindred has so much competition in the skin department now.

Annie rounds out my top picks. Tibbers as a giant mecha bear is exactly as cool as it sounds. The stun passive indicator glows with that signature pink energy. Simple concept but executed well for 1350 RP.

The Super Galaxy Champion Roster

Eight champions total. Could be wrong here but I think this is one of those lines where Riot had a specific vision for the roster and stuck with it rather than forcing in popular picks. The lineup is Rumble, Annie, Elise, Nidalee, Shyvana, Fizz, Gnar, and Kindred.

Rumble is the anchor. He fits the mecha fantasy so naturally that Super Galaxy might as well be his default skin at this point. His entire kit revolves around piloting a machine, so strapping him into a sentai mech suit is just chef's kiss. Perfect thematic fit.

Shyvana and Gnar both bring transformation mechanics that the skinline exploits beautifully. Shyvana's dragon form and Gnar's Mega form both get distinct mech designs, so you're essentially getting two skins in one. That's solid value at 1350 each. Gnar specifically, Mini Gnar is this tiny mecha pilot and then Mega Gnar becomes this hulking battle robot. Love the contrast.

Nidalee works well enough. The cougar form gets the mechanical treatment, spears become energy projectiles. It's clean. Not groundbreaking but competent. Fizz feels slightly forced to me honestly. His playful trickster vibe doesnt mesh as naturally with the stoic mecha pilot thing, but the ult shark becoming a mecha shark saves it.

(Sidebar for anyone wondering: I think Rumble, Vi, and maybe Corki should have been the core trio for this line. Vi punching things in a mech suit? Come on Riot. That's free money.)

The roster stopped growing after 2017. Eight skins across three years, 2014 to 2017, and then nothing. Feels like Riot moved on to newer mecha-adjacent lines like Mecha Kingdoms. Shame. There's room for more here.

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

Pretty straightforward tier structure. One Legendary, seven Epics. That means you're looking at 1350 RP for most of the line with Rumble sitting alone at 1820.

The Epics carry this skinline. Hard. Seven out of eight skins are Epic tier and the quality across them is remarkably even. No duds in the bunch. Some lines have that one 1350 skin that feels like it should be 975. Super Galaxy doesn't have that problem. Every Epic delivers new particles, recall animation, and the full mech suit model.

For the price range, 1350 to 1820 RP, you're getting consistent quality. Might be overthinking it but I think Super Galaxy Epics punch above their weight class compared to modern 1350 skins from some other lines. The mech suit models are detailed, the particles are distinctive, and the recalls all have that transformation gimmick. In 2024 and 2025 some Epic skins feel like glorified chromas. These dont.

No budget options though. If you want a Super Galaxy skin, minimum entry is 1350. No 975 or 750 tier skins exist in the line. Fair warning, that means collecting the full set runs you around 11,270 RP before any sales. Been watching for the rotating shop discounts and I've grabbed three of them at 50% off over the past couple years. Worth the wait if you're patient.

The Legendary tax on Rumble is justified. New VO alone puts it in a different category from the Epics. If you only buy one Super Galaxy skin and you play Rumble at all, that's your pick. No question.

Super Galaxy Skins FAQ

How many Super Galaxy skins are there?

Eight skins total in the Super Galaxy line. Rumble, Annie, Elise, Nidalee, Shyvana, Fizz, Gnar, and Kindred. The line dropped skins across three years from 2014 to 2017 and hasnt gotten a new addition since. Not sure if Riot considers it retired or just on a really long break, but either way eight is the current count.

What is the best Super Galaxy skin?

Super Galaxy Rumble. Not even close. It's the only Legendary in the line at 1820 RP and it delivers new voice lines, completely reworked animations, and some of the best ult VFX in the game. Been my go-to Rumble skin since it released. The anime protagonist VO alone makes it worth the price for any Rumble main.

Which champions have Super Galaxy skins?

Annie, Elise, Fizz, Gnar, Kindred, Nidalee, Rumble, and Shyvana. Eight champions total. The roster leans toward champions with transformation mechanics or pets. Shyvana's dragon form, Gnar's Mega form, Elise's spider form, and Annie's Tibbers all get distinct mecha designs which is a nice touch at 1350 RP each.

Does Super Galaxy have Legendary skins?

One Legendary. Super Galaxy Rumble at 1820 RP. It was actually the first skin in the line back in 2014 and set the tone for everything that followed. New VO with full anime pilot dialogue, unique recall, and reworked ability VFX. The other seven skins are all Epic tier at 1350 RP. Solid lineup honestly.

When did the Super Galaxy skinline release?

Started in 2014 with Super Galaxy Rumble. Then Riot expanded it with batches in 2016 and 2017. Shyvana, Fizz, and Kindred came in those later waves. The whole line wrapped up by 2017 and theres been nothing new since. Four years of releases, then silence. Could be wrong but I think Mecha Kingdoms kind of absorbed this line's design space.

Are Super Galaxy skins worth buying?

If you like the mecha anime aesthetic, absolutely. The Epics at 1350 RP each deliver strong value with full particle reworks and those transformation recall animations. Rumble's Legendary is a must-buy for Rumble mains. The line has aged well visually too. Played Super Galaxy Shyvana last week in ranked and it still holds up against newer releases.

Do Super Galaxy skins have chromas?

Some of them do, yeah. Not all eight got chromas though. The later releases picked up chroma packs but the original Rumble Legendary doesnt have any. Typical Riot approach where older skins in a line miss out on the chroma treatment. Check individual skin pages for specific chroma counts and color options if thats what you're after.

Will Riot make more Super Galaxy skins?

Honestly? Probably not anytime soon. The line hasnt seen a new skin since 2017 and Riot tends to move on to fresh themes rather than revisiting older ones. That said, they've surprised us before with revivals like Arcana coming back after a long gap. Maybe just my experience but I think Super Galaxy's niche got filled by newer mecha lines. Would love to be wrong though.
