Silver Age Skins
All 14 skins in the Silver Age skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Silver Age skin in League of Legends.
Silver Age is one of those skinlines that most people dont even realize exists as a unified theme. Been playing since season 2 and I only connected the dots maybe three years ago when someone on Reddit posted a tier list grouping these together. The whole vibe is retro sci-fi, like 1950s comic book covers meets League champion design. Think ray guns, chrome plating, exaggerated heroic poses. Not every skin in here lands the aesthetic equally but as a collection theres a charm to it that newer skinlines with their particle overhauls and prestige editions cant really replicate. 14 skins total, all Standard tier, prices sitting between 520 and 975 RP. Old school League at its core.

What Sets Silver Age Apart From Other Skinlines
Not gonna lie, Silver Age is a weird one to talk about because the visual cohesion isnt immediately obvious. These skins span from 2009 all the way to 2017, which means the art quality varies wildly depending on when each one dropped. The earliest entries like Feral Warwick and Deadly Kennen look like they were painted in a weekend. The later ones like Phoenix Quinn and Bioforge Darius have noticeably more polish. But the thread connecting them all is this retro-futuristic, slightly campy take on the champions.
Color palette leans heavy into metallics. Chrome silvers, industrial greens, glowing neon accents on abilities. Think old Fantastic Four comics or Flash Gordon serials. The splash arts, especially the ones that got updated over the years, share this exaggerated action-hero composition. Wide stances. Dramatic lighting. Capes or gadgets that look ripped from a Saturday morning cartoon.
Compared to something like Battlecast or PROJECT, Silver Age doesnt try to be gritty or serious. Could be wrong here but I think thats actually the appeal. These skins feel like Riot was just having fun with character concepts before every release needed a cinematic trailer and a Twitter hashtag campaign. No new voice lines on any of them, base VO across the board. No fancy recalls either on most. Just model changes and recolors that lean into the comic book fantasy.
The VFX situation is bare bones. Standard tier means you're getting texture and model swaps, maybe some minor particle adjustments on the newer entries. Cryocore Brand probably has the most noticeable ability changes since fire turning to ice is hard to miss. But if you're coming from Epic or Legendary territory expecting flashy new animations, Silver Age will disappoint. Thats not the point though. (Random aside: I genuinely think some of these would sell better today if Riot just slapped "Vintage" on the splash and charged 1350 RP.)
The skinline also has this interesting overlap with other themes. Super Teemo and Super Kennen lean superhero, Augmented Singed and Chemtech Tryndamere lean mad scientist, Infiltrator Irelia goes spy thriller. They all live under Silver Age but you could argue half of them belong in separate skinlines entirely. Riot's taxonomy was messy back then. Still is sometimes.
Best Silver Age Skins Worth Your RP
Alright real talk. 14 skins, all Standard tier, none of them are going to blow your mind compared to modern releases. But some of these punch above their weight class for what they cost.
Super Teemo. Top pick for me. 975 RP gets you Teemo in a full superhero outfit, cape and all. Been spamming this in ranked whenever I get autofilled top and need to tilt the enemy laner. The model is clean, the cape has decent physics for an old skin, and theres something deeply satisfying about watching a tiny yordle in a cape plant mushrooms across the Rift. My duo partner loses it every time I lock this in during late night sessions around 1 AM. Best Teemo skin? Probably not with Omega Squad existing. But funniest? Absolutely.
Rocket Girl Tristana sits at 975 RP and honestly holds up better than it should. The rocket launcher redesign fits the Silver Age retro-futuristic vibe perfectly. Played maybe 40 games on this one last season in Diamond and the auto attack animations feel crisp enough. Not sure if its just me but the projectiles read slightly cleaner than base Tristana in teamfights. Could be placebo.
Cryocore Brand at 975 RP is the sleeper pick. Brand but frozen. Ice instead of fire. Simple concept but the color inversion on his abilities makes every combo feel fresh. Took this into ranked for a solid two weeks back in season 12 and the W circle reads completely different in lane. Your opponents have to re-learn the visual language. Might be overthinking it but I swear people dodge the ice pillar differently than the fire one.
Bioforge Darius. 975 RP. This one came out in 2013 and it shows some age but the green toxic theme on Darius works. The axe redesign is solid. Not my first choice for Darius since Dreadnova and God-King exist, but for the price point its fine. Locked this in a few times during clash tournaments and got compliments on it, which surprised me.
Phoenix Quinn deserves a mention too. 975 RP, released in 2015, one of the newer entries. The fire bird aesthetic on Valor is cool. Quinn mains are starved for good skins anyway so this gets rotation time by default. Seen maybe five Quinn players total in my Diamond games this season and two of them were running Phoenix.
The Silver Age Champion Roster
14 skins across 13 champions. Kennen got two, the lucky yordle. Super Kennen and Deadly Kennen both live in this line. Kinda feels like Riot really wanted the superhero angle to work on him specifically. Fair enough, tiny ninja in a cape writes itself.
The roster reads like a tour of early League. Teemo, Tristana, Warwick, Tryndamere, Singed. These are season 1 veterans. Makes sense they'd get the retro treatment. Augmented Singed in particular fits the mad scientist vibe so naturally it almost feels like his base skin should have been this. Been maining Singed on and off since season 3 and Augmented is still my go-to when I want something different from Beekeeper.
Then you get the mid-era additions. Irelia, Veigar, Nocturne, Brand. Infiltrator Irelia is the odd one out thematically. Spy thriller doesnt scream Silver Age comics to me but the execution is decent. Superb Villain Veigar on the other hand? Perfect. Tiny evil mage in a villain costume. Chef's kiss. (Sidebar for Veigar one-tricks: you already know Final Boss is the real pick but Superb Villain is the budget alternative and it works.)
Darius and Quinn round out the later entries. Both 2013 and 2015 respectively. The roster is heavy on melee fighters and light on ADCs. Quinn's basically the only marksman. No mages besides Brand and Veigar. No supports at all. If Riot ever revisited Silver Age, which I doubt they will, a support would be nice. Thresh in a Silver Age skin? Braum as a retro superhero? The concepts write themselves but Riot seems to have moved on from this line entirely. Last addition was 2017 and silence since then.
Who's missing that should be here? Honestly Jayce. The whole hammer-cannon dual identity thing screams comic book hero. Heimerdinger as a retro mad scientist. Maybe Ziggs as a Silver Age villain with those cartoonish bombs. But again. 2017 was the last release. Seven years of nothing. Line's probably dead.
Tier Breakdown and Pricing
This is the simplest breakdown you'll ever see. All 14 skins are Standard tier. Every single one. No Epics, no Legendaries, no Mythics. Pure Standard. Price range goes from 520 to 975 RP which in today's economy is basically pocket change.
The 520 RP entries are your basic model swaps. Deadly Kennen, Feral Warwick, that tier. Minimal changes, minimal price. The 975 RP skins like Super Teemo, Rocket Girl Tristana, Cryocore Brand bring more substantial model overhauls and some particle adjustments. Nothing close to what a 1350 Epic gives you today but remember these were made in an era when 975 was premium pricing.
Honestly the all-Standard lineup is both the skinline's biggest weakness and its charm. No Legendary anchor means theres no standout skin carrying the whole theme with new VO and animations. But it also means the entire collection is accessible. You could buy every Silver Age skin for less than two modern Legendaries cost. Played through all of them last Tuesday in normals just to compare and the quality gap between 520 and 975 within this line is noticeable but not massive.
For mains of these champions, Silver Age skins are solid budget options. Not gonna compete with modern releases on flashiness. Thats not the game they're playing. Think of them as vintage jerseys. You wear them because you appreciate the history, not because they have the latest tech.
Silver Age Skinline FAQ
How many Silver Age skins are there?
14 skins total in the Silver Age line right now. All Standard tier, no Epics or Legendaries. The line covers 13 different champions since Kennen got two entries, Super Kennen and Deadly Kennen. Prices range from 520 to 975 RP. Not a huge collection compared to something like PROJECT but its been building since 2009 so the roster has some depth to it. Last skin added was back in 2017 though.
What is the best Silver Age skin?
Super Teemo gets my vote. 975 RP, the cape physics are fun, and the superhero model on Teemo is genuinely hilarious in ranked games. Cryocore Brand is the close second if you want something that actually affects how your abilities read in lane. The ice reskin on Brand's fire kit creates real visual confusion for opponents. Both solid picks for the price.
Which champions have Silver Age skins?
13 champions in total. Teemo, Tristana, Warwick, Tryndamere, Singed, Dr. Mundo, Irelia, Veigar, Nocturne, Brand, Kennen, Darius, and Quinn. Heavy on melee fighters and early League roster champs. Kennen has two skins in the line. No supports represented which feels like a missed opportunity honestly. The roster skews toward season 1 and 2 era champions.
Does Silver Age have Legendary skins?
Nope. Zero Legendaries. The entire Silver Age lineup is Standard tier, every single skin. Prices cap at 975 RP. No new voice lines, no unique recalls, no special animations on any of them. Pure model and texture swaps with minor particle work on some. Kinda wish Riot had given the line a Legendary anchor but that ship sailed years ago. The line hasnt gotten a new skin since 2017.
When did the Silver Age skinline release?
First Silver Age skins dropped in 2009, making it one of the oldest skinlines in League. The line kept getting additions through 2017 with the last batch. Thats an eight year span which explains why art quality varies so much between the early and late entries. Feral Warwick from 2009 looks nothing like Phoenix Quinn from 2015 in terms of polish.
Are Silver Age skins worth buying?
Depends what you're after. If you main one of these champions and want a budget skin option, Silver Age delivers at 520-975 RP. You're not getting modern Epic quality but the prices reflect that. Super Teemo and Cryocore Brand punch above their weight. The cheaper 520 RP entries like Feral Warwick are harder to recommend unless you're a collector. Think of them as vintage picks, not showpieces.
Do Silver Age skins have chromas?
Most Silver Age skins have zero chromas. These were made in an era before chromas existed as a feature in League. A couple of the champions might have chromas on other skins but the Silver Age versions themselves are what you see is what you get. One color scheme per skin, no variants. Standard tier from a different time in Riot's design philosophy.
Will Riot make more Silver Age skins?
I seriously doubt it. The last Silver Age skin came out in 2017 and Riot hasn't mentioned the line since. Their focus has shifted to event-driven skinlines with Epic and Legendary tiers, cinematic trailers, the whole production. Silver Age's all-Standard roster doesn't fit that model. Could be wrong here but I think this line is quietly retired. Maybe we'll see a spiritual successor someday but Silver Age itself seems done.
