Build path
Gold efficiency
| Stat | Amount | Gold per point | Gold value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Health | 200 | 2.67 g | 533 g |
| Base Mana Regen % | 75 | 4 g | 300 g |
| Mana | 300 | 1 g | 300 g |
| Total stat value | 1133 g |
Gold efficiency = stat value ÷ item cost = 1133 ÷ 2250 = 50%. The gold per point comes from basic items of the same patch (for example, Long Sword: 35 g per Attack Damage). Passives and actives are not counted, and neither are Heal and Shield Power (no basic item sells this stat alone).

We compare cost and stats patch by patch in Riot's Data Dragon files. "Effect text changed" means the passive or active wording changed in that patch.
Whispering Circlet is the enchanter’s Tear item in League of Legends, new in patch 26.1: 200 Health, 300 Mana, 75% Base Mana Regen and 8% Heal and Shield Power for 2,250 gold in patch 26.21. Its Manaflow passive grows your Mana pool every time you land an ability, and once that growth reaches 360 bonus Mana the item transforms into Diadem of Songs on its own.
What does Whispering Circlet do?
It is a Tear of the Goddess for supports. The stats cover what an enchanter wants in the mid game (Health to survive, Mana to keep casting, Heal and Shield Power to make the casting count), and the two passives decide how the item scales.
Manaflow is the engine: landing an ability grants 4 maximum Mana, doubled against champions, with up to 5 charges that refill one every 8 seconds. Stack 360 bonus Mana and the Circlet becomes Diadem of Songs, a finished item, with no gold spent. Harmony is the second passive, and here Riot’s data text says only that you gain Heal and Shield Power, so the exact ratio lives in the shop tooltip rather than in the numbers we can quote. Is it a fast transformation? Not for a support who lands two spells a minute, which is exactly why the item rewards enchanters who poke constantly (Sona, Seraphine, Karma, Nami) over the ones who save everything for the big moment.
Is Whispering Circlet gold efficient?
On priced stats, poorly: 50%. The 200 Health is worth 533 gold, the 300 Mana 300 gold and the Base Mana Regen 300 gold, which is 1,133 gold of stats against a 2,250 gold price.
Heal and Shield Power has no basic item to set a price, so the figure leaves it out, along with both passives. Thing is, the number is low for the same reason every Tear item looks bad on day one: you are buying the finished form in advance. The 850 gold combine cost over a Forbidden Idol, a Ruby Crystal and a Tear is the premium for that. The sell price is 1,575 gold, which you will never collect, because the item upgrades itself before anyone would sell it.
What does it build from, and into?
Three components: a Tear of the Goddess, a Forbidden Idol and a Ruby Crystal. Nothing builds out of it by purchase; the only path forward is the Manaflow transformation into Diadem of Songs, which the shop does not sell separately.
That makes it the support counterpart of Winter’s Approach for tanks and the Archangel’s and Manamune pairs for mages and marksmen. Honestly, the enchanter version was the missing one for years, and the Tear start on a support used to mean a Seraph’s Embrace that wasted its shield; the Circlet fixes that by pointing the stacking at healing instead. The LoL items database lists the component prices.
Who buys it?
Enchanters who cast a lot and run out of Mana in long fights: Sona, Seraphine, Karma, Nami, Soraka and Janna are the obvious group, with Lulu and Milio close behind. Supports who buy it first item want the Tear early, so the usual path is Tear on the first recall, Forbidden Idol on the second, and the finished Circlet by the second item slot. Who skips it? Tank supports, who have no healing to amplify, and the mage supports like Brand and Zyra, whose builds go through Fated Ashes and Blackfire Torch instead.
How has Whispering Circlet changed over the patches?
It hasn’t. The item entered the data in patch 26.1 and has no recorded changes since, so the numbers above are the launch numbers. For what it’s worth, new items in this slot usually get a price or stat adjustment within a season, and the Circlet’s transformation threshold of 360 Mana is the kind of lever Riot tends to pull first, so check the table on this page after each patch.
When should you buy it?
Early, if you are going to buy it at all. A Tear bought on the first recall starts stacking from minute three; the same Tear bought at twenty minutes transforms around the time the game ends. So you make the decision on the first back: Tear plus a Faerie Charm toward the Idol if you plan on the Circlet, or the components of Moonstone or Helia if you do not. Put simply, the item is a scaling pick, and you buy scaling picks early or not at all. Players are still working out which enchanters scale best with it in this first season, and the guide to LoL roles covers what a support should do with the gold they get, with Whispering Circlet now one of the options on that list.
