Fiddlesticks ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Fiddlesticks ARAM build is Ability Power and survivability on a champion the mode trims: Fiddlesticks deals 95% damage and takes 105% damage on the Howling Abyss. One lane and five enemies suit a scarecrow whose fear works from the unseen and whose Crowstorm damages everything around it, so you build to arrive and to live through the crows.
Item picks below are ours, made from what each item does in patch 26.21. No win-rate tables.

How is Fiddlesticks changed in ARAM?
| ARAM modifier | Fiddlesticks |
|---|---|
| Damage dealt | 95% |
| Damage taken | 105% |
Fiddlesticks deals 95% damage and takes 105% damage in ARAM, and those are its only two modifiers this patch. Neither is dramatic (on paper, anyway). A Crowstorm that would deal 1,000 damage over its duration on Summoner’s Rift deals 950 on the Abyss, and a scarecrow that gets caught dies a little faster than it already did. Why touch it at all? Because the Howling Abyss is a single lane with bushes along both edges, and a champion whose fear triggers from being unseen gets more unseen moments per minute here than anywhere on the big map. To be fair, Riot’s trim is gentle. The champion plays the same; the margin for a bad Crowstorm is just thinner.
Why does Fiddlesticks fit the Howling Abyss?
Because the map is built out of the two things it needs: cover to approach from and a crowd to land in. The kit, per Riot’s data for patch 26.21:
- A Harmless Scarecrow (passive): its trinket slot holds scarecrow effigies instead of wards.
- Terrify (Q): spells that damage enemies while Fiddlesticks is unseen, or the activation aimed at a target, strike them with fear and send them fleeing for a duration. Cooldown 15/14.5/14/13.5/13 seconds.
- Bountiful Harvest (W): drains health from nearby enemies, with bonus execute damage at the end of the duration. Cooldown 10/9.5/9/8.5/8.
- Reap (E): a scythe slash that slows everyone hit and silences those in the center. Cooldown 10/9/8/7/6.
- Crowstorm (R): crows flock around Fiddlesticks, dealing damage per second to every enemy unit in the area. Cooldown 140/110/80.
Count the targets. On the Rift a good Crowstorm catches two or three champions; on the Abyss the whole enemy team stands in one corridor, and a scarecrow that steps out of a side bush with the crows already spinning hits all five. Terrify then fears everyone those crows damaged, because Fiddlesticks was unseen when the damage started, and Reap silences whoever is left in the middle. The 480 range matters less here than on the Rift. Where does it fall apart? When the bush is warded, or when somebody saves a knock-up for the moment the crows appear. Both happen more in ARAM than you’d like, which is where the item choices come in.
What should a Fiddlesticks ARAM build focus on?
Ability Power to make the crows hurt, Magic Penetration because five enemies means somebody bought Magic Resist, and one item that keeps a scarecrow alive in the middle of a team. Four items from the current patch.
Zhonya’s Hourglass is the item that decides whether Crowstorm is a kill or a death. Its numbers are 105 Ability Power and 50 Armor, but the reason to buy it is Time Stop: 2.5 seconds of Stasis. Land in the middle, hit Time Stop, and the enemy team spends those seconds unable to touch the scarecrow at the centre of their own fight. Honestly, on the Abyss this isn’t optional (yes, even when you’re ahead).
Liandry’s Torment turns every tick into two. The numbers are 60 Ability Power with 300 Health attached, and the passive is the point: Torment sets a burn of 2% max Health magic damage per second on anyone your abilities damage, lasting 3 seconds, and Suffering adds up to 6% bonus damage the longer the fight with champions goes on. Crowstorm hits five people per second. Bountiful Harvest drains them, Reap slashes them, and the execute at the end of the drain finishes whoever the burn softened. Every one of those is a damaging ability, so every one of them lights the burn, and the 300 Health is welcome on a champion that takes 105% damage.
Cryptbloom comes third, and it’s the one that answers the Magic Resist problem and the support label at once. It gives 75 Ability Power, 30% Magic Penetration and 20 Ability Haste, and Life from Death spreads a healing nova from the corpse of any champion you damaged within 3 seconds of their death. In ARAM people die in clumps, next to each other, with your teammates standing right there (the nova doesn’t care who’s low). The 30 Magic Penetration is what keeps the crows relevant against a team that bought Spirit Visage.
Then Shadowflame: 110 Ability Power, 15 Magic Penetration, and Cinderbloom, which makes magic and true damage critically strike enemies below 40% Health for 20% increased damage. Bountiful Harvest already executes at the end of its duration. Cinderbloom makes the drain crit on the way there. If you’d rather have raw numbers, Rabadon’s Deathcap gives 130 Ability Power and raises your total by 30%, and the two items argue for the same slot. Boots are Sorcerer’s Shoes, 12 Magic Penetration and 45 Move Speed, because a scarecrow’s walk from bush to bush is the whole setup.
How do you play Fiddlesticks on the Howling Abyss?
- Approach through the side bushes. Terrify’s spell-fear only triggers while you’re unseen, and the Abyss gives you cover on both edges of the lane.
- Drop effigies where wards would go. A Harmless Scarecrow replaces your trinket with them, so the enemy learns to ignore scarecrows standing in bushes, which is exactly what you want them to learn.
- Crowstorm the back line, not the tank. The crows deal damage per second to everyone in the area, and the squishy targets are the ones who die while you sit in Stasis.
- Reap first when you can’t be unseen. The center silences, which stops the knock-up that would otherwise end your engage.
- Max W. Bountiful Harvest is your sustain between relics and your execute, and its cooldown drops from 10 seconds to 8 as it ranks up.
How do shopping and Mark change the game on the Howling Abyss?
You can’t recall on the Abyss, so the shop opens for you exactly twice: at the start, and each time you respawn. Between those visits the only Health you get back comes from the relics along the lane, and from Bountiful Harvest, which is why the drain matters more here than on the Rift. Plan the purchase before you die (you will, several times). For Fiddlesticks that usually means the Zhonya’s components first, even ahead of raw Ability Power, because a scarecrow that survives one Crowstorm and gets a second is worth more than one that hits harder once. The catch is that components don’t give you the active; only the finished Hourglass does.
Mark is ARAM’s own summoner spell. You throw a snowball; connect, and a dash to that champion opens up. Summoner spells lock before loading. For Fiddlesticks, who wants to be unseen and dies when seen, the snowball is a trap in both directions. Dashing in means arriving visible, which costs you the fear, and the enemy’s snowball is the thing that finds you in the bush before the crows are ready. In practice, carry it for the chase after Terrify sends their carry running, and never as your engage.
Is Fiddlesticks good in ARAM?
Yes, with one big condition: the first Crowstorm has to land. 95% damage and 105% damage taken is a small trim on a kit that fits this map almost perfectly, where bushes line a single corridor full of targets and Terrify turns one unseen moment into a team-wide fear. Funny enough, the thing that limits it isn’t the nerf. It’s how fast the enemy learns to ward the bushes and hold a knock-up. Against a team that does both, a scarecrow is a 480-range mage with no escape and a 140 second cooldown on its only real play.
Who shuts it down on the Rift? Junglers who reveal it or interrupt it, which is the subject of the Fiddlesticks counters guide, and most of that carries over to the Abyss. Our guide to LoL roles covers what the jungle role expects. Every item above, with patch history, is in the item database, and the Fiddlesticks skins page has the cosmetics.
Put simply: walk the bush line, let the effigies lie for you, land Crowstorm on the back line, press Time Stop, and drain whatever is still standing. That is the Fiddlesticks ARAM build in one engage. Then you respawn, buy the next piece, and find a new bush.
FAQ
Is Fiddlesticks nerfed in ARAM?
A little. Its ARAM line in the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data for patch 26.21 shows 95% damage dealt and 105% damage taken, and nothing else changed.
What items does the Fiddlesticks ARAM build use?
Zhonya’s Hourglass, Liandry’s Torment, Cryptbloom and Shadowflame, with Rabadon’s Deathcap as the alternative to Shadowflame and Sorcerer’s Shoes for boots.
Does Terrify work in ARAM?
Yes. Terrify fears enemies damaged by Fiddlesticks’ spells while it is unseen, or a target hit by the activation, and the Howling Abyss has bushes along the lane to approach from.
How long is the Crowstorm cooldown?
140 seconds at rank 1, 110 at rank 2 and 80 at rank 3. Crowstorm deals damage per second to every enemy unit around Fiddlesticks.
Is this build based on win rates?
No. The picks come from Fiddlesticks’ abilities and the item data for patch 26.21. We don’t use win-rate numbers.
