Spirit Blossom Zyra

First game I played with Spirit Blossom Zyra was last Wednesday around midnight and I genuinely sat in the fountain for a few seconds just watching the idle animations. The plants look like they belong in some old spirit realm painting. Zyra has had a solid skin catalog for years now but this one hits a tone none of the others really touch. Not sure if it’s just me but something about the color palette feels quieter than what Riot usually ships for her.

What Spirit Blossom actually changes on Zyra

The VFX overhaul is the headliner here. Q seeds bloom into these translucent petal-like shapes that scatter light particles when they sprout. The Thorn Spitters and Vine Lashers both got full redesigns. Thorn Spitters have this ethereal glow, almost like lanterns floating in a garden. Vine Lashers twist with pink and white energy threads that trail behind their attacks. Looks clean in teamfights when you’ve got three or four plants up simultaneously.

W plants growing out of the ground have new sprout animations. Small detail but it reads well. E roots trail spirit petals along the ground instead of the usual thorny vines, and the snare indicator has a soft blossom ring to it. Been running this in Diamond support games and the root is slightly harder for enemies to read against certain terrain. Could be wrong here but the lighter colors blend into river better than base Zyra’s green.

R is where the skin earns its price. Stranglethorns erupts with a burst of cherry blossom energy. The knockup zone fills with floating petals that linger for about a second after the ability resolves. Dropped this ult in dragon pit last night and my jungler pinged the question mark on it because he thought it was an enemy ability for a split second. Thats how different it looks from base.

New recall animation too. Zyra kneels and spirit flowers grow around her in a circle before she vanishes in a swirl of blossoms. Standard voice lines, no new VO. Karen Strassman’s original performance still carries fine honestly.

Spirit Blossom line and release context

Spirit Blossom Zyra dropped April 30, 2025. Late into this current season. The Spirit Blossom skinline is one of Riot’s most popular thematic sets and for good reason. It pulls from Ionian spirit mythology and every champion that gets one tends to look incredible. Zyra fits the theme naturally since shes already a plant mage, the spiritual garden aesthetic works without forcing anything.

8 chromas total if you want variety. Tanzanite is my personal pick, the deep purple energy on the plants looks premium. Obsidian goes full dark mode which reads well against the bright Rift colors, solid for ranked where you want clean visual clarity. Rose Quartz leans into the soft pink aesthetic even harder than the base skin. (Random aside: Tanzanite Zyra is genuinely my new desktop wallpaper since the day I bought it.)

1350 RP puts this in Epic tier. Shop has it. Permanent availability so no rush, but I grabbed the bundle on release day and dont regret it. The Spirit Blossom line keeps expanding every year and Zyra was overdue for an entry.

Is Spirit Blossom Zyra worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is top two Zyra skin material. Coven Zyra held the crown for a long time and I think Spirit Blossom genuinely challenges it. Different vibes obviously. Coven is dark and menacing, Spirit Blossom is elegant and ethereal. If you play Zyra support in ranked, the plant VFX alone justify the price. The Thorn Spitters especially look like they belong in a different game entirely.

Kinda feels like Riot put extra care into this one. The recall, the plant models, the ult particles. Everything coheres. Been maining Zyra with this skin for maybe 15 games now and I keep noticing small details I missed initially. The way seeds shimmer before they sprout. The petal trail on E fading out gradually instead of just disappearing.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. If you one-trick Zyra or even just play her as a pocket pick for bot lane, Spirit Blossom Zyra is worth locking in. Skip it only if you already own Coven and Prestige Coven and genuinely cant justify a third premium Zyra skin. For everyone else, first choice for Zyra mains this season. Real talk though, season 15 Zyra support with this skin in your collection just feels right.
