Enchanted Galio

Pulled this from a chest sometime last November and wasnt expecting much. Enchanted Galio is a 520 RP Standard skin from 2010 and yeah, the age shows in places. But it surprised me more than it had any right to.

What Enchanted Galio actually changes

The base Galio model is grey stone. Enchanted Galio swaps that for a softer teal-and-gold palette. Lighter, more regal. Reads less like a gargoyle and more like something summoned out of a Demacian mage tower. The model update is texture-level, but theres new VFX on the abilities, which I genuinely did not expect from a 520-RP skin this old.

His Q projectile picks up a greenish hue. The passive shield bubble gets a subtle visual tweak. Nothing that shifts your lane prio or changes how you play pre-6, but when you’re ulting into a teamfight and trying to track your own abilities through the chaos, the different VFX color actually helps distinguish them from the noise. Niche benefit. Real one though.

No new voice lines. Base VO, no VO refresh. Josh Petersdorf voices Galio and the base lines hold up fine, but there is nothing new here beyond the visuals.

Release, artist, and the Legacy catalog

Released August 10, 2010. Season one. That is not a typo. Enchanted Galio predates most of the current playerbase even opening the client. Mike Azevedo handled the splash, and honestly it is the best part of the whole package. (Random aside: this splash sat as my phone wallpaper for two full seasons, which is a weird thing to admit about a 520-RP skin.)

The art sells a regal, glowing Galio – gold trim, arcane swirls, the works. The in-game model cannot fully match it given 2010-era poly limits, but the gap is smaller than you would expect from something this old.

Part of Riot’s Legacy catalog. Shop availability is permanent, so no vault hunting needed. No chromas, nothing extra. Grab it at 520 RP if the teal palette appeals to you.

Is Enchanted Galio worth 520 RP?

Real verdict: it is a budget skin from season one with texture changes and some new VFX. Gatekeeper and Debonair are doing far more for the price, and those are the skins showing up in Diamond lobbies when someone lock-ins Galio support.

Could be wrong here but I think Enchanted Galio has a specific audience: collectors, Galio mains who want every skin, and players who genuinely prefer the softer teal color for spamming his kit in ranked. Been running it in norms occasionally just to get the feel right, and the VFX reads cleanly on the Rift when you’re poke-engageing from mid.

Fair price. Low expectation skin. Worth it if you main Galio and want something different from base without spending 1350 RP on something with a full visual overhaul.
