Vayne ARAM Build and Guide
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch; ARAM balance numbers come from the League of Legends Wiki’s champion data.
A Vayne ARAM build starts from a small buff: in ARAM, Vayne deals 105% damage and takes 95% damage. Her kit is made for long duels, with Silver Bolts dealing a percentage of max health as bonus true damage on the third consecutive attack or ability against the same target, and Condemn stuns enemies that are knocked back into terrain.
The item picks below are my call, based on what each item actually does this patch. No win-rate tables involved.

How is she changed in ARAM?
Slightly buffed on both sides: 105% damage dealt and 95% damage taken, per the League of Legends Wiki’s ARAM data for patch 26.21.
| ARAM modifier | Vayne |
|---|---|
| Damage dealt | 105% |
| Damage taken | 95% |
Both nudges point the same way, and neither is big. A hit that would deal 1,000 damage on the Rift deals 1,050 here, and a 1,000 damage spell aimed at her lands for 950. The mode is rough on a 550 range marksman who needs three hits before her damage shows up, and these two modifiers take a bit of the edge off without pretending the problem isn’t there.
Does Vayne’s kit work in one lane?
Some of it. To be fair, the damage side is fine, but the part where she survives, the part where a 550 range marksman has to stand still for three hits, is not.
- Night Hunter: Move Speed toward nearby enemy champions. In one lane that is most of the time you move forward, as long as there is an enemy in front of you.
- Tumble: a short roll that loads her next attack with bonus damage, cooldown 6/5/4/3/2 seconds. Also her only dash.
- Silver Bolts: the third consecutive attack or ability against the same target deals a percentage of that target’s max health as bonus true damage. There is no cooldown on it.
- Condemn: a heavy bolt that knocks the target back and deals damage. If they hit terrain they are impaled, stunned, and take bonus damage. The cooldown runs 20 seconds at rank one to 12 at rank five.
- Final Hour: bonus Attack Damage, Invisibility during Tumble, a shorter Tumble cooldown, and more Night Hunter speed. Cooldown 100/85/70 seconds.
The problem is range. Her attacks reach 550, so poke champions chip her before she lands a single bolt, and with five a side in one lane nobody is handing her a clean one-on-one. Tumble buys a step, not a way out of a full engage.
What should a Vayne ARAM build focus on?
Attack speed and on-hit damage. Why not stack Attack Damage instead? Silver Bolts counts hits, not Attack Damage, so faster swings bring the true damage sooner.
Start with Berserker’s Greaves (30% Attack Speed, 45 Move Speed, 1,100 gold). Blade of The Ruined King gives 40 Attack Damage, 25% Attack Speed and 10% Life Steal, and its attacks deal a percentage of the enemy’s current Health as bonus physical damage on hit. Attacking a champion three times also slows them by 30% for 1 second, the same three-hit rhythm as Silver Bolts.
Kraken Slayer (45 Attack Damage, 40% Attack Speed, 4% Move Speed) makes every third attack deal bonus physical damage on hit, increased by the target’s missing Health. That is the third hit again, so it lines up with Bolts. Guinsoo’s Rageblade adds 30 Attack Damage, 30 Ability Power and 25% Attack Speed, plus 30 bonus magic damage on hit, and once Seething Strike is fully stacked every third attack applies on-hit effects twice. All three pay you for the same thing, staying on one target, and for what it’s worth the stats for everything else are in our item database.
How do you play her in ARAM?
From the back, and slower than you want to. Silver Bolts needs consecutive hits on one target, so in practice a fight that drags on gives her time to land the third hit.
- Count to three. Silver Bolts needs consecutive hits on one target. Pick the enemy you can keep hitting, not the lowest health bar.
- Save Condemn for a wall. Without terrain it is a knockback and some damage. A minion is not a wall. With terrain it is a stun on a 20 to 12 second cooldown, so a miss means a long wait.
- Tumble after Final Hour, not before. The ult gives Tumble Invisibility and a shorter cooldown. That is when you reposition through a fight.
- Let someone else start. Night Hunter speeds her up toward enemies, so it is for running people down once the fight is already on.
The hardest thing to unlearn is firing Condemn the second it comes up. Put simply, into open ground you get a knockback and a moment, but into the lane wall you get a stun, and that is the whole difference between a wasted cooldown and a kill.
How do shopping and Mark change the plan?
Two ARAM rules decide how a Vayne game goes. You can’t recall to shop, so you buy at the fountain at the start and after each death (those are your only shop visits), and the health relics in lane are there because nobody is walking back to base to heal. That is why the life steal on Blade of The Ruined King is worth more here than on the Rift. Decide your next item before you die, not while the respawn timer runs down.
Then there is Mark, the ARAM summoner spell. You lob a snowball, and landing it on an enemy lets you dash to whoever it struck. A second dash sounds great on a 550 range champion. The catch is that it is a dash in, and Tumble (cooldown 6 to 2 seconds) is her only way back out. So when is the snowball worth throwing? Mark someone who has already drifted away from their team, or use it to follow up your own Condemn stun. Your two summoner spells are locked in before loading finishes and cannot be swapped mid-game, so that choice is made once and lived with.
Is she good in ARAM?
If the enemy team is stacking health, yes. Honestly, if they are poking from range, you will spend most of the game behind your own tank. The 105% dealt and 95% taken help, but she still needs time on one target, and the mode does not always give it.
When she does get that time, max-health true damage on a tank line is exactly what you want. Who ruins her day? Whoever can jump on her before the third bolt lands. Our Vayne counters guide covers them for the Rift, and most of that logic carries over. Her skins are on the Vayne skins page, and our guide to LoL roles explains where the bot lane carry fits.
A good Vayne ARAM game is mostly you standing still for three hits while the rest of the lane loses its mind. Build attack speed, keep Condemn for a wall, and don’t step up until the ult is ready.
FAQ
Is Vayne buffed in ARAM?
Yes, slightly. The League of Legends Wiki’s champion data for patch 26.21 lists her ARAM modifiers at 105% damage dealt and 95% damage taken.
What items does a Vayne ARAM build use?
Attack speed and on-hit items: Berserker’s Greaves, Blade of The Ruined King, Kraken Slayer and Guinsoo’s Rageblade, all of which reward repeated hits on one target.
Does Condemn stun on the Howling Abyss?
Only if the target collides with terrain. Position so the knockback sends enemies into terrain.
Why does Vayne struggle in some ARAM games?
Her attack range is 550 and Tumble is her only dash. Teams with long-range poke or hard engage can hit her before the third Silver Bolts stack lands.
Is this build based on win rates?
No. I picked each item by reading what it and Vayne’s abilities actually do in patch 26.21, nothing more. We don’t use win-rate data.
