Fiora Counters: Who Beats Fiora
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch.
Fiora counters are top laners who fight her from range, cut her healing, or bait Riposte before committing their crowd control. She’s a 150-range duelist who heals and speeds up by striking marked weak points on champions, with a lunge, a parry that can stun, two quick attacks and an ultimate that heals her team.
We matched these five against her patch 26.21 ability text, one kit at a time. Win rates weren’t involved.

Why is Fiora hard to counter?
- Duelist’s Dance (passive): she reveals a weak point on a champion; striking it restores her Health and grants Move Speed.
- Lunge (Q): a lunge in a direction with a stab on a nearby enemy, dealing physical damage and applying on-hit effects. Cooldown 13/11.25/9.5/7.75/6.
- Riposte (W): she parries all incoming damage and disables for a short time, then stabs; the stab slows the first enemy champion hit, or stuns them if she parried an immobilizing effect. Cooldown 24/22/20/18/16.
- Bladework (E): faster attacks for the next two hits; the first slows and the second critically strikes. Cooldown 11/10/9/8/7.
- Grand Challenge (R): reveals all four weak points on an enemy champion and gives her Move Speed nearby; hitting all four, or the target dying after at least one, heals Fiora and allies in the area. Cooldown 110/90/70.
Riposte is the problem. It parries all incoming damage and disables, and if one of those disables was an immobilizing effect, the stab back stuns you. That turns most top lane crowd control into a coin flip. Her sustain comes from the passive, which heals her each time she strikes a weak point, and Lunge lets her reach them from an awkward angle. So what works? Champions who don’t need to land a stun to win, who can fight from outside 150 range, or who can make her healing smaller. And patience: Riposte is a 24 second cooldown at rank 1.
Which champions are the best Fiora counters?
Quinn
Quinn attacks from 525 range against Fiora’s 150, so Fiora has to Lunge just to start trading. Vault (E) dashes to an enemy, slows, briefly interrupts and then bounces Quinn back to near her maximum Attack Range. An interrupt isn’t a stun, though Riposte still parries the damage if Fiora times it, so Vault after Riposte is the safe order. Valor’s marks add bonus physical damage to her opening attack, Blinding Assault (Q) clouds Fiora’s vision, and if it all goes wrong, Behind Enemy Lines (R) is a very fast flight home (no shame in it). It’s a miserable lane for Fiora, honestly.
Tryndamere
Grand Challenge heals Fiora’s team if she hits all four weak points or if the target dies after she’s hit at least one. Undying Rage (R) makes Tryndamere impossible to kill for its duration. That second condition doesn’t happen while it’s active. Mocking Shout (W) lowers the Attack Damage of champions around him and slows anyone with their back turned, which cuts Fiora’s damage across the board. Bloodlust (Q) raises his Attack Damage as he loses Health and heals by consuming Fury, and Spinning Slash (E) chases her when she Lunges away.
Mordekaiser
Mordekaiser’s ultimate (R) drags Fiora into a separate dimension with him and steals part of her stats for the fight. No allies and no outside help, just the two of them, and he’s holding some of her numbers. Indestructible (W) builds a shield from damage he deals and takes, then converts it to healing, Obliterate (Q) hits harder on a single target, and Death’s Grasp (E) pulls every enemy in an area. Darkness Rise (passive) adds a damage aura after 3 attacks or spells. The catch is Death’s Grasp: if Riposte parries it and the text counts the pull as immobilizing, she stuns him back, so throw it after the parry.
Malphite
Bladework is two fast attacks with a slow and a crit, and Ground Slam (E) cuts the Attack Speed of everyone it hits. Cast it before she commits and her E gets a lot weaker. Granite Shield (passive) soaks part of each trade and recharges when he’s left alone for a few seconds, and Ground Slam’s magic damage grows with Armor, the stat you’d buy against a physical duelist anyway. Seismic Shard (Q) steals Move Speed from Fiora, which offsets the speed she gains from hitting weak points. Unstoppable Force (R) knocks her up from range. Save it for when Riposte is down (it’s an immobilizing effect, so she’ll parry it and stun back if she can).
Teemo
Teemo fights at 500 range and Blinding Dart (Q) blinds its target, and Fiora’s damage is attacks. A blinded Fiora can still Lunge, but Bladework’s slow and crit go nowhere. Riposte parries disables, so throw the dart after she’s used it. Toxic Shot (E) poisons with every attack for 4 seconds (over a whole lane, that adds up), which adds up over a lane where she has to walk forward to trade, and Guerrilla Warfare (passive) makes him invisible after standing still. Noxious Trap (R) slows and poisons her through the brush. Long story short, Teemo makes her come to him, and coming to him costs Health.
How do you play the lane against Fiora?
- Don’t throw crowd control into Riposte. A parried immobilizing effect stuns you back, so wait until the 24 second cooldown at rank 1 is running.
- Move so her weak point faces away. Duelist’s Dance only heals her when she strikes the marked side.
- Respect Bladework. The first attack slows and the second crits, so step back after the slow lands.
- Track Lunge. It’s her gap closer and her way out, and it’s a 13 second cooldown at rank 1.
- Spread out against Grand Challenge. The heal hits Fiora and her allies in the area, so fighting away from her team limits it.
Which items counter Fiora?
Grievous Wounds and Armor. Her passive heals her on every weak point she strikes, and Grand Challenge heals her whole team, so Wounds come first. Bramble Vest applies 40% Wounds for 3 seconds whenever an attack hits you, for 800 gold, and Fiora attacks constantly. Thornmail upgrades it with more Armor and Health. Randuin’s Omen has Resilience, which cuts damage from Critical Strikes, and Bladework’s second attack always crits. Frozen Heart, too. Fewer attacks per second means a slower Bladework. Damage dealers can use Executioner’s Calling or Chempunk Chainsword for Wounds through their own physical damage. Full numbers on each are in our items database.
When is Fiora at her weakest?
When Riposte is on cooldown. It’s 24 seconds at rank 1, and without it she’s a 150-range fighter with no way to block crowd control. To be fair, that’s also when Malphite’s ultimate, Mordekaiser’s pull and Quinn’s Vault all land safely. Before that, any stun you throw is a stun she might send back.
She’s also weaker before her ultimate comes online, since Grand Challenge is her team-healing tool, and against anyone who stops her from healing. How does she sustain without the passive? She mostly doesn’t. Put simply, Wounds and positioning that hides her weak point matter more than raw damage here.

FAQ
Who counters Fiora the most?
Top laners who out-range her, cut her healing or punish Riposte: Quinn, Tryndamere, Mordekaiser, Malphite and Teemo.
What does Riposte block?
Everything, briefly: damage and disables both get parried during its short window. If it blocks an immobilizing effect, the stab that follows stuns the first enemy champion hit instead of slowing them.
Does Grievous Wounds work against Fiora?
Yes. Duelist’s Dance heals her when she strikes a weak point, and Grand Challenge heals her and nearby allies. Wounds reduce both.
Why is Randuin’s Omen good against Fiora?
Its Resilience passive reduces damage from Critical Strikes, and the second attack of Bladework always critically strikes.
How were these counters chosen?
Each counter had to answer Riposte, her healing or her range according to the patch 26.21 ability text. No match statistics were used.
