Bel’Veth Counters: Who Beats Bel’Veth
Updated for patch 26.21. Ability details come from Riot’s official game data for this patch.
Bel’Veth counters are junglers who stop her attacks, stop her dashes, or turn her own attack speed against her. She’s a 150-range fighter who grows on stacking Attack Speed, dashes with Void Surge on a very short cooldown, and roots herself in place to channel Royal Maelstrom.
Our list comes from setting each rival’s kit beside her patch 26.21 ability text. No win-rate figures were involved.

What makes Bel’Veth dangerous?
- Death in Lavender (passive): permanent Attack Speed stacks from large minions, monsters and champions she takes down, plus temporary Attack Speed after each ability.
- Void Surge (Q): a dash in a chosen direction that damages every enemy she passes through. Cooldown 4/3.25/2.5/1.75/1.
- Above and Below (W): a tail slam that damages, knocks up and slows. Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8.
- Royal Maelstrom (E): she roots herself and channels slashes that target the lowest-Health enemy, gaining lifesteal and damage reduction. Cooldown 24/21/18/15/12.
- Endless Banquet (R): consuming Void coral turns her into her true form, with more max Health, attack range and Attack Speed. Cooldown 1.
Bel’Veth snowballs on takedowns. Every large monster and champion adds a permanent stack of Attack Speed, every ability adds a temporary burst on top, and by rank 5 Void Surge dashes every second, so she’s nearly impossible to pin down in an open fight. Royal Maelstrom is the odd one out: it roots her in place while she channels. That’s the opening. Counters punish her in one of three ways: they make basic attacks useless for a few seconds, they stop the dashes outright, or they lock her down during the channel. Which matters most? Usually the first, since almost all of her damage arrives as basic attacks.
Which junglers are the best Bel’Veth counters?
Jax
For a short window, Counter Strike (E) makes Bel’Veth’s attacks slide off Jax entirely, and when it ends, everyone near him is stunned. Against a champion whose damage is mostly attacks, that’s a few seconds where Bel’Veth hits nothing, followed by a stun right where she’s standing. Leap Strike (Q) jumps to a unit, so Jax follows her Void Surge dashes, and Relentless Assault (passive) stacks his own Attack Speed the longer he keeps hitting. Grandmaster-at-Arms (R) adds Magic Damage on every third attack, and the active grants Armor and Magic Resist for a short time. Empower (W) charges the next hit. Honestly, a Bel’Veth who walks into Counter Strike just loses the trade.
Rammus
Curled up with W, Rammus piles on Armor and Magic Resist and sends damage back to whoever swings at him. Bel’Veth attacks a lot. Frenzying Taunt (E) forces her into a reckless assault on him, so she keeps hitting the curled-up ball whether she wants to or not, and Spiked Shell (passive) turns all that Armor into Attack Damage. Powerball (Q) rolls in and slows on impact, and Soaring Slam (R) slows an area, adding a knock-up near the center when he casts it mid-Powerball. Put simply, Rammus is built to be the target an attack-speed jungler should never hit.
Poppy
Steadfast Presence (W) is the cleanest anti-dash tool in the game: active, it stops enemy dashes around Poppy, and a stopped dash leaves the enemy slowed and grounded. A grounded Bel’Veth can’t Void Surge. The passive part of W also adds Armor and Magic Resist, more of it when Poppy is low. Heroic Charge (E) dashes to a target and pushes it back, stunning on impact with a wall, and the jungle has walls everywhere. Keeper’s Verdict (R) channels a hammer strike that knocks enemies very far away. Iron Ambassador (passive) throws a buckler that Poppy picks up for a shield, and Hammer Shock (Q) slows in a zone before it explodes.
Vi
Cease and Desist (R) runs Vi down to one enemy, knocking aside anyone in between, then knocks the target into the air and slams it down. Bel’Veth can’t dash away from it once it’s cast. Vault Breaker (Q) charges a punch that carries Vi forward and knocks back, a decent way to break a Royal Maelstrom channel, while Denting Blows (W) breaks Armor and builds Attack Speed. Relentless Force (E) blasts through the target into enemies behind it, and Blast Shield (passive) charges a shield over time that pops on when one of her abilities connects. Vi isn’t faster than Bel’Veth in a long duel, to be fair. She wins by choosing who fights and when.
Warwick
His ultimate, Infinite Duress, is a leap that pins the first champion it touches in a 1.5 second suppression. Suppression stops everything, including the dashes and the channel. Primal Howl (E) gives damage reduction for 2.5 seconds, then makes nearby enemies flee for 1 second, which wipes out a full second of her attacks. Jaws of the Beast (Q) bites for damage based on max Health and heals Warwick for it, and Eternal Hunger (passive) heals on attacks once he drops below half Health (more below a quarter). Blood Hunt (W) gives Move Speed toward low-Health enemies. Real talk, a Bel’Veth who over-extends on a Warwick rarely gets back to her jungle.
How do you play against Bel’Veth in the jungle?
- Deny her stacks. Death in Lavender stacks Attack Speed permanently from large monsters, so take or contest her camps.
- Hit her during Royal Maelstrom. She roots herself while channeling, so it’s the one moment she isn’t dashing.
- Watch for Above and Below. The tail slam knocks up and slows on a 12 second cooldown at rank 1.
- Don’t fight her in an open field late. Void Surge drops to a 1 second cooldown at rank 5.
- Contest Void epic monsters. Endless Banquet’s Void coral from them lets her summon Void remora.
What items counter Bel’Veth?
Armor and anything that slows attacks. Start with Frozen Heart: its 75 Armor is welcome, but the real reason is Winter’s Caress, which drags down the Attack Speed of every champion near you by 20%. Thornmail adds Armor and applies Wounds to attackers, which cuts the lifesteal from Royal Maelstrom (Bramble Vest does the same early for 800 gold). Randuin’s Omen takes less damage from Critical Strikes and its Humility active slows nearby enemies hard. On boots, Steelcaps take 10% off each of her hits. Stats for each are in our LoL item database.
When is Bel’Veth weakest?
Early. Death in Lavender needs takedowns, and before she’s stacked Attack Speed her damage is ordinary for a jungler. Void Surge is still on a 4 second cooldown at rank 1. Can you invade her? With Jax or Warwick, often (just track her first clear).
Also before the true form. Endless Banquet needs Void coral to transform her, so a team that takes the first big fight off her keeps her a step behind. For what it’s worth, the same thing that makes her scary, takedowns, is what you take away by playing safe.
Still learning the jungle? Our explainer on LoL roles covers it. Every champion we’ve covered is in the guide hub, and her skins are on the Bel’Veth skins page. In short, Bel’Veth counters make her attacks miss and her dashes stop.
FAQ
Who counters Bel’Veth the most?
Junglers who dodge, punish or stop her attacks and dashes: Jax, Rammus, Poppy, Vi and Warwick.
How do you stop Bel’Veth’s dash?
Poppy’s Steadfast Presence stops nearby enemy dashes and grounds the champion. Suppression from Warwick’s Infinite Duress also stops it.
Does Grievous Wounds work against Bel’Veth?

What is the cooldown of Void Surge?
Void Surge has a cooldown of 4/3.25/2.5/1.75/1 seconds.
How were these Bel’Veth counters picked?
Each pick had to blank her attacks, stop her dashes, or lock her down during Royal Maelstrom, judged from patch 26.21 ability text. Win rates were not used.
