WoW Forever FAQ: Every Major Question Answered

Verified November 6, 2026 · Status: released
This FAQ consolidates the top WoW Forever questions and answers them strictly from Blizzard’s official sources — launch post, GPU-requirements post, and publicly documented BlizzCon 2026 panel content. Every answer that isn’t in a single Blizzard news post is explicitly marked as “announced via panel” or “not yet confirmed,” so you never mistake rumor for fact. Blizzard’s primary source, cited throughout: “Carve a New Path with World of Warcraft: Forever.” This page serves as a quick-reference index for players new to Forever. Verified on 6 November 2026.

Launch and access questions
When did WoW Forever launch?
November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST globally. Access available with any active WoW Subscription or Game Time.
Do I need to buy Forever separately?
No. Blizzard’s rule: “Available to anyone with an active WoW subscription or game time.”
What is WoW Forever?
Blizzard’s description: “A new permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW.” A permanent Classic+ server using original Azeroth continents with new stories, zones, classes, and races layered on top.
Is it the same as WoW Classic?
No. Classic is Blizzard’s iterative re-release program (seasonal). Forever is a permanent new WoW track with new content.
Race and class questions
What is the Skyborne race?
The new playable race introduced with Forever. Starts on Zephras Isle with a dedicated starting experience. Unlocked via Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher. See /forever-skyborne-race/.
How do I unlock Skyborne?
Purchase the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, or Warcraft Forever Collection via the Battle.net Shop.
How many classes does Forever have?
Nine (the original WoW classes): warrior, paladin, hunter, rogue, priest, shaman, mage, warlock, druid. Classic-style three-talent-tree system.
Can Forsaken be Paladins?
Announced yes, via BlizzCon 2026 panels. Not available in Classic WoW. Blizzard hasn’t yet consolidated every race-class combo into a single news post.
Can Dwarves be Shamans?
Announced yes, via BlizzCon 2026 panels. Not available in Classic WoW. Same consolidation status as Forsaken Paladins.
Zones and content questions
How many new zones does Forever add?
Three. Blizzard: “Three new zones, over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, two new raids.”

The new starting zone for Skyborne characters. Only Skyborne begin here.
Does Forever change the original Azeroth map?

Beta questions
When did Forever beta start?
September 17, 2026. Ran 48 days until the November 4 launch.
Who had beta access?
Buyers of the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection only. Not the Skyborne Heroic Pack.

No. Blizzard wiped beta characters before launch. Pack contents (race, mount, cosmetics, 30-day Game Time) persisted.
Can I still join Forever beta?
No — the beta closed before the November 4 launch.
