| Can’t fly in TWW zones | Haven’t completed Pathfinder yet | Complete TWW Pathfinder achievement chain |

| Only Dragonriding works | Normal flying locked behind Pathfinder | Finish the achievement |
| Can use flying in old zones | Older expansion Pathfinders auto-unlocked | Legacy flying works there |

Farming Renown efficiently
- Daily / Weekly quests: Renown comes from faction-specific dailies and weeklies.
- World quests: Rotate through your faction’s zone world quests.
- Weekly chests: Each faction has a weekly chest for completing their weekly.
- Delver’s Journey: Delves weekly quest contributes to Dornogal Renown.
- Season events: Factions may offer accelerated Renown during events.
- Multiple characters: Renown is account-wide via Warbands for TWW factions.
Normal Flying vs Dragonriding
| Mode | Speed | Stamina |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Flying | 310% speed baseline | No stamina; infinite flight time |
| Dragonriding/Skyriding | 240+ with skill (faster with practice) | Vigor charges required |
| Ground Mount | 60-100% | No stamina |
| Walking | 7m/s baseline | No stamina |
Normal flying is slower per-click but requires no stamina management. Dragonriding is faster with skill but costs effort.

- Warlords of Draenor Pathfinder Part 1 and 2: Still gated; can grind if needed.
- Legion Pathfinder Part 2: Still gated; grind through faction quests.
- BFA Pathfinder Part 2: Still gated.
- Shadowlands Flying: Granted after reaching Renown milestones.
- Dragonflight Pathfinder: Granted through specific achievements.
- TWW Pathfinder: Current — see steps above.
If Pathfinder isn’t progressing
- Achievement log shows step incomplete? → verify each sub-step. Open the achievement for sub-criteria.
- Renown stuck? → spend 2-3 weeks on dailies; Renown is time-gated.
- Explorer step missing? → check each zone in Adventure Guide; must visit all corners.
- Loremaster stuck? → some quests require side chains; use Wowhead’s complete quest list.
- Can’t fly despite achievement? → log out and back in; it sometimes needs refresh.
- Related: Dragonriding, Warbands, Worldsoul Saga, weekly reset.
- Still stuck → Blizzard CS ticket.
FAQ
What is WoW Pathfinder?
The achievement chain required to unlock Normal Flying in the current expansion’s zones. Each expansion typically has 1-2 Pathfinder parts. Completing them permanently unlocks flight for that character (and often account-wide).
How long does TWW Pathfinder take?
2-4 weeks for a focused player. Must reach Renown 20-25 on 4 factions (grind), complete exploration, and finish Loremaster. Spread across weekly resets, expect 2-3 weeks minimum.
Is Pathfinder account-wide?
Partially. TWW Pathfinder is per-character, but Renown is account-wide via Warbands, so alts can inherit Renown progress. The achievement itself must be completed per character.
Do I need Normal Flying if I have Dragonriding?
Not strictly, but useful. Normal flying is slower but doesn’t require stamina management. Great for AFK flying between quests. Dragonriding is faster but needs active Vigor management.
How do I check Pathfinder progress?
Press Y to open Achievements → search “Pathfinder” → select current expansion’s Pathfinder → view sub-criteria and progress.
What if I don’t want to grind Renown?
You can skip Pathfinder entirely and use Dragonriding/Skyriding for all flight. Only reason to grind Pathfinder is wanting the Normal Flying alternative.
Can I buy Pathfinder?
No. There’s no way to purchase Pathfinder. Must grind the Renown and complete the achievements through gameplay.
