Timewalking rotation (2026)
- Timewalking runs roughly every other week for one expansion — rotation includes TBC → WotLK → Cata → MoP → WoD → Legion → BFA → Shadowlands.
- Each event lasts 7 days (Tuesday to Monday).
- Some weeks skip Timewalking entirely for seasonal events (Darkmoon Faire, Hallow’s End).
- Check in-game calendar: Social → Calendar → upcoming week shows the TW icon.
How to queue
- Reach level 71 (previously 70, bumped with War Within).
- Open Group Finder (
I) → Dungeons → Timewalking tab (visible only during event week). - Queue solo or with a group.
- Complete any 5 Timewalking dungeons during the event week for the Chromie Prisms / Timewarped quest reward.
- Collect drops from each boss — gear scales up to current endgame level.
Rewards per TW type
| Reward type | How to earn |
|---|---|
| Scaled-up endgame gear | Each boss has a chance to drop gear at current-item-level + 5-10 |
| Weekly quest reward | Complete 5 TW dungeons this week → quest turn-in at Dornogal → 1 Great Vault slot + box of current gear |
| Legacy mounts | From specific legacy bosses — e.g., Attumen, Infinite Timereaver (rare secret boss drop) |
| Transmog | Full legacy gear sets drop; faster path to collect missed sets |
| Timewarped Badges | Currency to buy legacy mounts/toys/transmog from TW vendors |
| Achievements | Dungeon completion achievements tied to each expansion |
Boss-drop legacy mounts worth farming
- Infinite Timereaver: Ultra-rare drop from the final boss of any Timewalking dungeon (~0.05%).
- Reins of the Raven Lord: Attumen in Timewalking Karazhan.
- Riding Turtle: Legacy guild vendors / fishing (not TW-specific but part of the farming meta).
- Each TW expansion mount: Buyable with Timewarped Badges from the expansion’s TW vendor.

| WotLK | Dalaran (Crystal Vale) |
| Cata | Stormwind Keep / Grommash Hold |
| MoP | Vale of Eternal Blossoms |
| WoD | Stormshield / Warspear |

If Timewalking isn’t working
- No TW tab in Group Finder? → event isn’t running this week; check calendar.
- Queue stuck 15+ min? → off-peak; dps-only queues can run long. Specs that can heal/tank unlock faster.
- Reward item level lower than expected? → make sure you did the weekly quest, not just one dungeon.
- Legacy mount not dropping? → farm aggressively; Infinite Timereaver is a <1% drop.
- Great Vault missing TW slot? → confirmed 5 TW dungeons completed this week via Quest log?

FAQ
What is WoW Timewalking?
Event-week dungeon content that scales your character down to a past expansion’s level cap and runs that expansion’s dungeons at a tuned difficulty, while scaling rewards up to current endgame item levels.
How often does Timewalking run?
Roughly every other week. Each event lasts 7 days (Tuesday to Monday). Rotation covers TBC through Shadowlands. Check the in-game calendar for the current week’s event.
Do I get modern-level rewards?
Yes. Timewalking dungeons drop gear scaled up to current endgame item level (the exact ilvl shifts each expansion). The weekly 5-dungeon quest gives a Great Vault slot.
Where are Timewalking vendors?
In each expansion’s main capital (Shattrath for TBC, Dalaran for WotLK, etc.). See the vendor table above. You spend Timewarped Badges earned from TW dungeons.
Can I earn legacy mounts in Timewalking?
Yes. The Infinite Timereaver is a super-rare drop from the final boss of any TW dungeon (<1%). Each expansion’s normal legacy drops still happen too. Timewarped Badges can also buy expansion-specific mounts.
Do I need a group?
No — solo queue works. Group Finder matches you with other players. You can also queue as a 5-stack with friends.
Does Timewalking have Mythic+ difficulty?
No. Timewalking is one tuned difficulty per event. Separate from Mythic+ keystones.
