Valorant Agent Contracts are the XP-based agent unlock system — each agent has its own 10-tier contract, play matches with that agent equipped to earn Contract XP, tier 5 unlocks the agent for use in all modes, tier 10 completes the contract with final cosmetic reward; alternative: unlock agents immediately for 1,000 VP each. How Agent Contracts work
- 10 tiers per agent: Grind through 10 reward tiers to complete.
- Tier 5 unlock: Agent becomes usable in all queues (Unrated, Ranked, Spike Rush, Clash, Deathmatch).
- XP earned: Play any match with the agent selected → XP per match.
- Tier 10 reward: Final cosmetic (card, title, spray).
- Max contracts active: 3 at once (customize your priority agents).
- Contract switching: Change active contracts between matches.

- Standard match: 1,000-3,000 Contract XP per match, depending on performance.
- Daily missions: First-win-of-day bonus.
- Weekly missions: Larger contract XP boosts.
- Battle Pass XP: Also earns Contract XP in parallel.
- Agent XP cap: No hard daily cap, but diminishing returns after 10 matches/day.

Managing multiple contracts
- Active contracts: 3 at once.
- Click Contracts tab → select active agent contracts.
- Play any match with the selected agent → XP flows to that contract.
- Can swap between matches without penalty.
- Completed contracts auto-cycle to next agent.
Best early unlock order
Strategic order for new players:
- Omen (Controller) or Viper (Controller): Fill a gap (most teams lack Controllers).
- Yoru or Raze (Duelist): Entry alternatives.
- Cypher (Sentinel): Great defensive agent.
- Breach or Fade (Initiator): Team utility.
- Expand based on what role you play most often.
If contracts aren’t working
- XP not progressing? → ensure you selected the agent in match; XP only applies to that agent.
- Can’t use agent despite completion? → log out and back in; may need refresh.
- Contract tab empty? → verify you have 3 active contracts; set them first.
- Agent unlock purchase failed? → verify VP balance; try again.
