Grand Reckoning Rell

First time I saw Grand Reckoning Rell load in, I thought someone was playing a different champion. The silhouette reads completely different from base Rell, and thats coming from someone who has locked in Rell support more times than I’d like to admit this season. Terence ‘Terrylefruit’ Cantal nailed the splash. The armor redesign hits a tone Rell’s been missing since launch.

What Grand Reckoning actually changes on Rell

So for 975 RP on a Standard tier skin, you’re getting more than I expected. New VFX across her kit and a new recall animation. No new voice lines, voice stays default. But honestly the visual overhaul carries the skin hard enough on its own.

The W crash-down has this dark energy ripple effect that reads way cleaner in teamfights. Been playing Rell into engage comps in Diamond for weeks now and the visual clarity on her E tether is noticeably better with Grand Reckoning equipped. Not sure if it’s just me but the Q stab feels more satisfying too, something about the particle trail.

Recall animation is solid. Short and punchy. Rell plants her lance and this reckoning energy surges through her armor. Nothing over the top, fits the theme. Played maybe 30 games with this skin since it dropped in early March and the recall hasnt gotten old yet.

The Grand Reckoning line and where Rell fits

Grand Reckoning released March 5, 2025. Late season 15 drop. The Grand Reckoning skinline is one of those themes that works better on some champs than others. Rell fits naturally. The whole “judgment day” aesthetic pairs well with her identity as this armored vanguard who dismounts and crashes into the backline.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity honestly because the color palette could have gone some interesting directions. Dark purple variant? Red and gold? Riot left RP on the table here. (Random aside: my duo partner who mains Rell was genuinely upset about the no chromas thing, sent me a whole paragraph about it at like 1 AM last Wednesday.)

Is Grand Reckoning Rell worth it?

Real verdict: for Rell mains this is a no-brainer pickup. 975 RP feels fair for what you get. The VFX upgrade alone makes her abilities read better in chaotic teamfights around dragon pit or Baron. Could be wrong here but I think the W animation is slightly faster visually, even if the actual cast time hasnt changed.

Grand Reckoning Rell competes with Star Guardian and High Noon in her skin pool. If you want something darker and more serious than those two, this is your pick. Been running this as my default Rell skin since that ranked session two weekends ago where I went on a 7 game win streak peeling for my ADC. The skin just fits her engage-heavy playstyle. Skip it if you never play Rell in ranked, but for support mains who pull her out for specific comps, 975 RP well spent.
