Heartbreakers Skins

All 14 skins in the Heartbreakers skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Heartbreakers skin in League of Legends.

Heartbreakers is one of those skinlines I have a weird relationship with. Been playing since season 3 and every February without fail Riot drops another pink-and-red Valentine skin that I tell myself I wont buy. Then I lock in Varus or Jinx and somehow end up with the bundle in my purchase history. The aesthetic is pure Valentine's Day cheese - cupid arrows, heart particles, pastel pinks and golds - but honestly some of these skins hit way harder than they have any right to. 14 skins deep now across champions you'd never expect to share a thematic line.

What Makes the Heartbreakers Line Stand Out

Not gonna lie, most seasonal skinlines feel phoned in. Snowdown gets the same blue particles copy-pasted across six champions. Pool Party just slaps a pool noodle on everything. Heartbreakers actually puts in work on the VFX side, at least for the Epic tier releases.

The visual signature is obvious: pinks, reds, golds, heart-shaped particles on every ability. But the execution varies wildly between the older Standard skins and the newer Epics. Sweetheart Annie from 2016 is basically a texture swap with a cute dress. Heartpiercer Fiora from 2019 has full custom VFX with rose petals on every lunge. Night and day difference.

Color palette stays consistent though. Every splash in this line shares that warm pink-to-gold gradient background with floating hearts. The splashes feel cohesive when you scroll through them - whoever art directed this line kept it tight across eight years of releases. Kinda feels like the art team had a shared mood board they actually stuck to, which is rare for Riot honestly.

What ties it together beyond color is the cupid fantasy. Arrows, bows, heart-tipped weapons. Varus literally shoots heart arrows. Ashe's frost arrows become love arrows. Even Vi's gauntlets get the heart treatment. Its a simple concept but the commitment to it across 14 skins makes the line feel intentional rather than slapped together.

Compared to something like Crystal Rose which tries a similar romantic vibe but goes more elegant wedding aesthetic, Heartbreakers leans full Valentine kitsch. Crystal Rose is the wedding. Heartbreakers is the cheesy card your partner buys at the gas station. And I mean that as a compliment - it knows what it is.

Best Heartbreakers Skins Worth Your RP

Heartseeker Orianna. Full stop. Best skin in this line and might be the best seasonal skin Riot's made period. The ball becomes this ornate golden heart mechanism, her abilities leave rose trails, and the recall has her dancing with the ball like a music box ballerina. Been spamming this in Diamond on my mid alt and the Q particles are genuinely cleaner to track than base Orianna. 1350 RP well spent for mains.

Heartseeker Varus takes second spot and honestly its close. Released back in 2015 at 1350 RP, this was one of the first Heartbreakers to get full VFX treatment. The Q charge-up with the heart forming is iconic at this point. Seen it in pro play a few times too. Could be wrong here but I think this is still his most popular skin in ranked based on what I see in my games.

Heartpiercer Fiora surprised me. Dropped February 2019 and the rapier becomes this elegant rose-tipped blade. Her vitals proc with heart bursts. The riposte animation specifically - the parry stance with rose petals floating - looks better in motion than the splash suggests. Took this into ranked for maybe 40 games that February and the auto-attack animations feel slightly smoother than base. Placebo probably but still.

Heartseeker Jinx is the fun pick. Not the best technically but Jinx's personality fits Valentine's Day energy perfectly. The minigun/rocket swap between Cupid's bow and a heart cannon. Recall animation is her smashing a heart pinata. Peak Jinx characterization.

Heartseeker Lucian rounds out my top five. The dual pistols becoming golden heart guns works thematically since he and Senna have that whole love story. (Random aside: wish they'd made a matching Heartseeker Senna instead of giving her a different line entirely.) His ult raining golden hearts down a lane is genuinely satisfying. Played maybe 50 games with it season 10.

Champion Roster and Thematic Fit

14 champions in this line and the fit ranges from perfect to questionable. Varus with his bow is an obvious cupid parallel. Ashe same deal - archer champion, heart arrows, writes itself. Quinn with Valor as a little cupid bird. These make sense.

Then you have Vi. Heartbreaker Vi. Not sure if it's just me but putting heart gauntlets on the woman who punches people into walls feels like a stretch. It works aesthetically because the skin looks good, but thematically? She's punching you with love I guess.

Xayah and Rakan as Sweethearts was the obvious call and I'm glad Riot made it. They're literally the couple champions. Sweetheart Rakan's recall where he gives Xayah flowers is one of the few couple interactions that doesnt feel forced. My duo partner and I ran these bot lane for all of season 8. Good times.

Yuumi fits because she's a support cat with a book of love spells or whatever. Annie works because cute kid in a Valentine dress. Sona works because ethereal musician in pink. Orianna works because elegant dancer.

Champions I'd add next: Senna (obvious Lucian match), Ahri (fox charm queen - write itself), Evelynn (heartbreaker literally in her kit design), and maybe Thresh for the irony of the lantern being a heart cage. Real talk though I think Riot retired this line after 2020. Haven't seen a new one in six years.

Tier Breakdown and Pricing

Split between Standard (5 skins) and Epic (9 skins). No Legendaries. No Ultimates. This is a midrange skinline through and through.

The Standards are all older releases - 750 RP range, mostly texture swaps from 2012-2016 era. Heartseeker Ashe (2012), Heartseeker Vayne (2014), that generation. They show their age. Ashe's is literally just a pink outfit swap with no new particles on the original. Fine for 750 but don't expect Legendary quality.

Epics carry this line hard. 1350 RP each with full VFX, new recalls, sound effects. Heartseeker Orianna, Varus, Jinx, Lucian, Heartpiercer Fiora - all solid 1350 value. Might be overthinking it but I think the Epic tier is where Riot's art team does their best work under constraint. Not enough budget to phone it in, not so much budget they overthink it.

Price range: 750 to 1350 RP across the full line. Most of what you'd actually want to buy sits at 1350. The 750 skins are collector items at this point - you either have them from eight years ago or you don't really need them.

No prestige editions, no event passes tied to this line since 2020. Feels like Riot's moved the Valentine energy into other lines now. Heartthrobs took over that seasonal slot I think.

Should You Collect Heartbreakers in 2026?

Depends on what you play. If you main any of the ADCs in this line - Varus, Jinx, Lucian, Ashe, Vayne - there's legitimate value here. Heartseeker Varus specifically is one of those skins that just feels right on the champion. Been daily driving it on my ADC account since season 5 on and off.

For support mains: Sweetheart Sona, Sweetheart Rakan, and Heartseeker Yuumi cover three different support archetypes. Enchanter, engage-adjacent, and... cat. (Sidebar for support mains specifically: the Rakan skin's feather VFX in teamfights read cleaner than base which actually matters for tracking W range.)

Fair warning - the Standards haven't aged well visually. Heartseeker Ashe next to a 2024 Epic skin looks like two different games. If you're buying for aesthetics in actual gameplay, stick to the 1350 tier releases from 2017 onward.

The Legacy availability on some of these makes them occasionally pop up in My Shop or during Valentine events. Last February I got Heartseeker Quinn at 60% off in My Shop. Worth grabbing discounted even if Quinn isnt your main - never know when you'll get autofilled top and want to flex a rare skin.

Thing is, 14 skins is a solid collection but not overwhelming. Compare to Star Guardian with 30+ skins or PROJECT with 20+. Heartbreakers is completable without selling your car. Maybe 15k RP total if you're buying everything at full price, less with sales and My Shop discounts. Did exactly this over three seasons. No regrets honestly.

How many Heartbreakers skins are there?

14 skins total in the Heartbreakers line as of 2026. Split between Sweetheart, Heartseeker, and Heartpiercer variants. Line started in 2012 with Heartseeker Ashe and the most recent addition dropped in 2020. Riot hasnt added new ones since then so this might be the final count unless they revive it.

What is the best Heartbreakers skin?

Heartseeker Orianna takes it for me. Best VFX work in the line, the ball redesign is gorgeous, and the abilities read cleanly in teamfights. Heartseeker Varus is a close second though - iconic Q animation and the skin just fits his archer fantasy perfectly. Both 1350 RP Epics.

Which champions have Heartbreakers skins?

Annie, Ashe, Sona, Orianna, Vayne, Varus, Fiora, Quinn, Jinx, Lucian, Vi, Yuumi, Rakan, and Xayah. Heavy on ADCs and supports which makes sense for the Valentine theme. Good spread across roles though - you've got top laners in Fiora and Quinn, mid in Orianna.

Does Heartbreakers have Legendary skins?

No Legendaries in this line. Everything is either Standard (750 RP) or Epic (1350 RP). Kinda surprising given how long the line ran - 2012 to 2020 - but Riot never gave it the Legendary treatment. The Epics are solid enough that it doesn't feel like a huge miss honestly.

When did the Heartbreakers skinline release?

First release was Heartseeker Ashe in February 2012. Line kept getting additions every Valentine's Day through 2020 when Heartbreaker Vi dropped. Eight years of consistent releases, usually 1-3 new skins each February. Been quiet since 2020 though.

Are Heartbreakers skins worth buying?

The 1350 RP Epics are solid value - Orianna, Varus, Fiora, Jinx, Lucian all deliver on VFX and theme. The 750 RP Standards show their age badly. If you main any of the champions in this line the Epic tier skin is usually worth grabbing, especially at a My Shop discount. Skip the Standards unless you're collecting.

Do Heartbreakers skins have chromas?

Some of the newer Epic releases have chromas. Heartpiercer Fiora and Heartbreaker Vi both got chroma sets. The older skins from 2012-2016 don't have chromas since Riot hadnt started that system yet. Check individual skin pages for specific chroma counts and color options.

Will Riot make more Heartbreakers skins?

Unclear but probably not. Last addition was 2020 and Riot's shifted Valentine's energy to newer lines like Heartthrobs. Could be wrong here but six years without a new skin usually means a line is retired. Maybe they bring it back for a nostalgia drop but I wouldnt hold my breath on it.
