Crystalis Motus Skins
All 3 skins in the Crystalis Motus skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Crystalis Motus skin in League of Legends.
Crystalis Motus is one of those skinlines that flew under the radar for most players and I think thats a shame. Three Mythic-tier skins, all dropped in 2023, all built around this crystalline movement aesthetic that looks like someone froze a ballet mid-performance. Not sure if it's just me but the first time I saw the Ashe version load into my game I genuinely paused for a second. The whole line has this translucent, geode-fracture energy that hits different from anything else in the shop. Small roster, high production value, zero filler.

What Sets Crystalis Motus Apart From Other Skinlines
The name tells you everything if you break it down. Crystalis for the crystal formations, Motus for motion. Every skin in this line builds around that core idea: living crystal in motion. The color palette sits in this specific range of deep amethyst, shattered quartz white, and prismatic refractions that shift depending on the angle. Not the same vibe as Arclight or Crystal Rose at all. Those lines lean clean and holy. Crystalis Motus feels geological. Raw. Like something erupted from the Rift floor.
Real talk though, the VFX work carries this entire skinline. Abilities shatter into crystal fragments on impact. Auto attacks leave these trailing prismatic shards. Even the idle animations have this subtle crystalline pulse running through the model. Riot's VFX team went hard here and it shows in every particle.
The splash arts share a unified visual language too. Dark backgrounds, characters emerging from crystal formations, dynamic poses that emphasize the "motus" half of the name. Could be wrong here but I think these splashes were done by the same art team because the lighting consistency is near perfect across all three. That violet-to-white gradient in the background ties them together when you see them side by side.
Compared to something like Crystalis Indomitus (which shares the Crystalis prefix but goes for a completely different energy), Motus is more elegant. Indomitus is aggressive, heavy, armored crystal. Motus is crystal in flow. Think the difference between a geode cracked open on a shelf versus watching crystal grow in real time. Both cool. Different vibes entirely.
One thing that surprised me when I first locked in the Leona skin around March 2023: the sound design. Crystal-themed skins could easily sound generic and glassy but these have weight to them. Every ability lands with this resonant mineral crack that you feel in your headset. (Random aside: I play with studio monitors and these skins sound incredible on decent audio gear.)
Best Crystalis Motus Skins Ranked
Only three skins in the whole line so this is more of a full breakdown than a top picks list. But there's a clear ranking in my head after playing all three in Diamond this season.
Crystalis Motus Ashe takes the top spot and its not particularly close. The arrow VFX on her W spreading into crystal shards across the lane is one of the best particle effects in the game. Period. Her ult travels across the map as this massive crystal formation and the impact feels massive. Been running this as my default Ashe skin since it dropped and I've tried going back to other options. Keep coming back. The Hawkshot reveal has this crystal bloom effect that looks clean on the minimap too. For ADC mains who play Ashe in ranked, this is the one.
Kinda feels like Riot designed the whole skinline around Ashe and then built the other two to match. Her kit just works with the crystal theme naturally. Volley spreading into crystal fragments, Enchanted Crystal Arrow already having "crystal" in the name. Perfect fit.
Crystalis Motus Leona comes second. The shield bash on her Q shatters into crystal on impact and her Zenith Blade extends as this crystalline lance. Solid execution. Her ult dropping a crystal formation from the sky looks great in teamfights. The engage fantasy is strong here. Played maybe 30 games with it in support and the visual feedback on landing E into Q combo is satisfying every time. Where it falls slightly behind Ashe is the W shield effect. It's good but doesnt pop as hard as you'd want from a Mythic-tier skin.
Crystalis Motus Taliyah rounds out the three. Honestly not gonna lie, this one grew on me. Initially I thought it was the weakest because Taliyah's kit is already about rocks and earth, so crystal felt like a lateral move rather than a transformation. But the Worked Ground texture swap to crystal formations changes the feel of laning phase completely. Her wall ult cutting across the Rift as a crystal ridge looks incredible. The Q stones becoming crystal projectiles with that prismatic trail is clean. It's good. Just not as immediately impressive as the Ashe version.
All three are worth getting if you main these champions. No weak link in the line, just varying degrees of excellent.
The Champion Roster and Who Should Join Next
Three champions. That's it. Ashe, Leona, Taliyah. Small and focused.
Ashe fits the crystal theme like it was designed for her. Already mentioned this but her kit literally has Crystal Arrow in it. Natural synergy. Leona works because the crystal formations give her this geological tank fantasy that complements her existing solar theme without contradicting it. Think of it as Leona channeling earth instead of sun. Taliyah is the most interesting pick because she's a stone weaver by default, so the crystal twist recontextualizes her entire identity. Smart choice by the skin team.
Maybe just my experience but I feel like this line could expand well. Imagine Crystalis Motus Lissandra. Ice witch reimagined through crystal instead of frost. Her Q sliding crystal shards, her ult encasing in a crystal tomb instead of ice. Would be incredible in teamfights. Malphite is another obvious pick since he's literally a rock creature. Give him the crystal treatment and his ult becomes a crystal avalanche. Could see Skarner fitting too, especially post-rework.
The comp potential is there for a full crystal-themed team. Ashe ADC, Leona support, Taliyah mid. Add a Crystalis Motus jungler and top laner and you've got something special for premade lobbies. Been saying this since season 13 when the line dropped.
Three Mythic skins with no Epic or Legendary support makes this one of the most exclusive skinlines in the game. You cant just buy these with RP. Need Mythic Essence or get lucky with Hextech crafting. That exclusivity is part of the appeal for collectors.
Tier Breakdown and Value
Every single Crystalis Motus skin is Mythic tier. All three. No Epics, no Legendaries, no Standards. Just Mythic across the board. That's unusual for a skinline. Most lines have a mix of tiers with maybe one Prestige or Mythic thrown in. Crystalis Motus went all Mythic from the start.
What does Mythic tier mean in practice? These aren't purchasable with standard RP in the shop. You need Mythic Essence, which you accumulate through event passes, Hextech crafting, and masterwork chests. Fair warning, the grind for Mythic Essence is real if you're free to play. Each skin typically costs around 100 Mythic Essence from the rotating shop, though pricing has shifted around over the past year.
The production value matches Mythic expectations. New models, new VFX on all abilities, new recall animations. Voice lines stay base on all three, which is standard for Mythic tier. No new VO. But the visual package is strong enough that you dont miss it much during gameplay.
For the effort required to get them, I think all three justify the Mythic Essence cost. Spammed the Ashe skin in ranked for two months straight after unlocking it around June 2023 and never felt like the quality was below what I expected. Compare these to some of the weaker Mythic options that have rotated through the shop and Crystalis Motus sits comfortably in the upper half.
If you're choosing between the three and only have enough Mythic Essence for one, go Ashe. Then Leona. Then Taliyah. That's my order and I'm sticking with it.
Frequently Asked Questions About Crystalis Motus
How many Crystalis Motus skins are there?
Three total. Crystalis Motus Ashe, Crystalis Motus Leona, and Crystalis Motus Taliyah. All dropped in 2023 and all sit at Mythic tier. Small line but every skin in it hits. No filler picks, just three solid executions of the crystal movement concept.
What is the best Crystalis Motus skin?
Crystalis Motus Ashe by a clear margin. The arrow VFX on her W and R are some of the best particle effects in the game. Her kit synergizes with the crystal theme naturally since Enchanted Crystal Arrow is already in her base kit. Played hundreds of games with it in Diamond. Top tier ADC cosmetic.
Which champions have Crystalis Motus skins?
Ashe, Leona, and Taliyah. That's the full roster. Each champion brings something different to the line: Ashe for the ADC fantasy, Leona for engage support, Taliyah for mage/control. Good variety for only three skins honestly.
Does Crystalis Motus have Legendary skins?
No Legendaries in the line. All three are Mythic tier which is actually rarer. Mythic skins come with new models, full VFX overhauls, and unique recall animations but keep the base voice lines. Think of them as sitting between Epic and Legendary in terms of production but with exclusive acquisition through Mythic Essence.
When did the Crystalis Motus skinline release?
All three Crystalis Motus skins released in 2023. They came through the Mythic shop rotation during season 13. Relatively new line compared to stuff like Cosmic or Star Guardian that have been building rosters for years. Still waiting to see if Riot expands it.
Are Crystalis Motus skins worth buying?
If you main Ashe, Leona, or Taliyah, absolutely. The VFX quality is excellent across all three and the crystal aesthetic is unique in the game. Since they cost Mythic Essence rather than RP, the real question is whether you want to spend that resource here versus other Mythic options. For mains of these champs I think the answer is yes.
Do Crystalis Motus skins have chromas?
Mythic skins typically don't come with standard chroma sets the way Epic skins do. The base crystal aesthetic with that amethyst and quartz palette is what you get. Not a huge deal since the base colorway already looks premium. Honestly the default purple-white scheme is clean enough that chromas feel unnecessary.
Will Riot make more Crystalis Motus skins?
No official word from Riot as of early 2026. The line hasnt seen additions since 2023 which isn't a great sign. But Crystalis Indomitus exists as a sibling line under the Crystalis umbrella so the theme isn't dead. Could be wrong here but I'd bet we see at least one more batch eventually. Lissandra and Malphite are obvious candidates.
