Arcana Skins
All 14 skins in the Arcana skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Arcana skin in League of Legends.
Arcana is one of those skinlines where Riot actually committed to an aesthetic and didnt water it down. Tarot card fantasy with heavy gold accents, deep purples, mystical symbols all over the VFX. First time I saw the splash arts back in 2021 I thought they looked like actual painted card illustrations, not the usual League style. Been running Arcana skins in my ranked rotation since they dropped and honestly the whole line holds up better than most seasonal releases. 14 skins total across two waves, all Epic tier at 1350 RP, and the champion picks mostly make sense for the theme.

What Makes Arcana Stand Out on the Rift
Not gonna lie, the visual identity here is strong. Every Arcana skin shares that tarot card motif with gold filigree borders in the splash art, deep jewel-tone color palettes, and VFX that look like fortune cards spinning apart. The recall animations across the line all feature some variation of card reading or mystical divination. Consistent theming. Riot sometimes drops a skinline where half the skins look like they belong to different universes (looking at you, early Cosmic) but Arcana avoids that entirely.
Color palette is where it gets interesting. You've got the dominant royal purple and burnished gold running through every skin, but each champion gets a secondary accent. Xerath leans into electric blue energy. Ahri gets pink-magenta tones through her orb and tails. Karthus goes heavy on the green spectral glow. Works well because it keeps each skin distinct while still reading as "Arcana" instantly in a teamfight.
The shared VFX language is tarot symbols and card-like particle effects. Abilities proc with these flat geometric shapes that dissolve like cards being torn apart. Kinda feels like playing with a deck of magic cards instead of standard spell effects. Compare this to something like Cosmic where the shared element is just "purple space stuff" and Arcana feels way more intentional.
(Random aside: I set up all 14 Arcana splashes as a rotating wallpaper on my second monitor and it genuinely looks like an art gallery. The splash team went absurdly hard on this line.)
Could be wrong here but I think part of why Arcana works is the champion selection. They picked champions whose kits translate well into mystical fortune-teller fantasy. Zilean manipulating time, Ryze channeling arcane scrolls, Xerath as pure magical energy. Even Tahm Kench as the dealer who always wins. Thematic coherence. You dont always get that from Riot.
Best Arcana Skins Worth Locking In
Arcana Xerath is the standout. Full stop. His base model already looks like concentrated magical energy and the Arcana treatment turns every ability into this gorgeous gold-and-blue light show. Q feels heavier, the W ground indicator has tarot symbols embedded in it, and his ult shots look like cards being dealt from the sky. Spammed this in Diamond for maybe 40 games last season and the visual clarity is actually better than base Xerath in some teamfights. The particle contrast against Summoner's Rift just reads cleanly.
Arcana Ahri is the popular pick and I get why. The tails have that flowing golden energy, the charm VFX is a spinning card that shatters on hit. Might be overthinking it but I think its her best 1350 skin if you're not going Spirit Blossom. My Ahri one-trick duo partner locks this in every game and swears the auto attack animation feels smoother, which is copium obviously but the skin just flows well in lane.
Arcana Camille doesn't get enough credit. Her legs have these golden blade extensions that look incredible during E hookshot, and the Q empowered strike has tarot card shatter effects. Played against one last Tuesday in a ranked game and the ult cage looked amazing from the outside. Hexagonal golden prison with card symbols floating around it. Clean execution on a champion that's hard to make skins for because of her unique silhouette.
Arcana Karthus is the sleeper. Real talk though, how many people even play Karthus regularly? Not many in my Diamond games. But the skin transforms his R channel into this massive tarot spread appearing above him. Gorgeous. The passive death zone gets golden card particles that make it look way more threatening. If you main Karthus jungle this is arguably the best skin for him outside of Pentakill.
Arcana Ryze rounds out my top five. The scroll motif translates perfectly into tarot card themes since Ryze already carries a book of spells. His E spread has these card-like particles that chain between targets and the combo feels satisfying. Released back in 2022 during the second Arcana wave. Been daily driving it on Ryze for most of my ranked games this season and the overload combo VFX reads better than most of his other skins.
The Arcana Champion Roster
14 champions in the line. Good spread between mages, supports, and a few wildcards. Not sure if it's just me but the mage picks feel the most natural. Ryze, Xerath, Karthus, Zilean. These are champions built around arcane magic and the tarot card aesthetic slots right in. Zilean especially since his whole deal is time manipulation and fate, which is literally what tarot is about.
Ahri and Lulu represent the enchanter side. Both work thematically since fox spirits and fae magic overlap with fortune telling vibes. Lulu's polymorph turning enemies into little golden card constructs is a nice touch. Jhin as the artistic perfectionist obsessed with four. The Death card, basically. Fits.
Then you have the more surprising picks. Hecarim as a spectral knight channeling tarot energy is a stretch but the execution saves it. Lucian and the Xayah-Rakan duo came in the second wave and feel like Riot expanding the line's appeal to ADC and support mains. Tahm Kench as the gambler or dealer archetype is clever casting. Aurora was the latest addition.
Who's missing? Twisted Fate is the obvious one and maybe Riot is saving him for a Legendary version. A fortune teller champion not being in the fortune teller skinline is honestly bizarre. Could be coping but I think they're planning a prestige or legendary Arcana TF at some point. Lissandra would fit too. Maybe Veigar with his dark mage thing. The line has room to grow and honestly 14 skins feels like it stopped one wave too early.
Tier Breakdown and Pricing
Here's the thing. Every single Arcana skin is Epic tier at 1350 RP. All 14 of them. No Legendary, no Ultimate, no budget 975 options. Uniform pricing. This is a double edged sword.
On one hand, the quality floor is high. You're not getting a 520 RP recolor sharing the Arcana name. Every skin in the line has new VFX, new recall, new model. Standard Epic package. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get with most of these, especially Xerath and Camille where the VFX work carries hard.
On the other hand, not having a Legendary in the lineup means no skin in Arcana has new voice lines or significantly altered animations. Base VO on all 14 skins. No reimagined walking animations. For a skinline with this strong of a thematic identity, a Legendary Arcana skin with full VO exploring tarot lore would have been incredible. Missed opportunity from Riot honestly.
Total cost if you wanted every Arcana skin: 18,900 RP. Thats roughly $130 USD depending on your RP bundle. Not cheap. But since they're all the same tier you can cherry-pick your mains without feeling like you're missing the "best" version. Maybe just my experience but I think owning 3-4 Arcana skins for champions you actually play is the sweet spot. No need to collect the full set unless you're that kind of player.
Fair warning, none of these go on sale frequently. I picked up Arcana Xerath at 50% off maybe six months ago during a Your Shop rotation. If you're patient your main might show up discounted eventually. Standard pricing otherwise, permanent shop availability on all 14.
Arcana Skinline FAQ
How many Arcana skins are there?
14 Arcana skins total as of right now. Line dropped in two waves across 2021 and 2022. Champions range from mages like Xerath and Ryze to ADCs like Lucian and Xayah. All sitting at Epic tier. Been running a few of these in ranked for a while and the quality is consistent across the board, no weak links really.
What is the best Arcana skin?
Arcana Xerath in my opinion. The VFX are the cleanest in the line and his kit translates perfectly into tarot card effects. Arcana Ahri is the most popular pick though and Arcana Camille is underrated. Honestly comes down to which champion you actually play. Could be wrong here but Xerath edges everyone else out purely on how good the abilities look in a teamfight.
Which champions have Arcana skins?
Ryze, Zilean, Karthus, Xerath, Ahri, Lulu, Hecarim, Camille, Jhin, Tahm Kench, Lucian, Rakan, Xayah, and Aurora. Heavy mage representation which makes sense for the tarot theme. The Xayah-Rakan duo came in the second wave. Still waiting on Twisted Fate which feels like an obvious miss from Riot.
Does Arcana have Legendary skins?
Nope. All 14 Arcana skins are Epic tier at 1350 RP. No Legendaries, no Ultimates, no budget options either. Keeps the quality floor high but means no new voice lines in the entire line. Kinda feels like a missed opportunity since a Legendary Arcana skin with tarot-themed VO would have been incredible. Maybe in a future wave.
When did the Arcana skinline release?
First wave dropped in 2021 with skins like Arcana Camille and Arcana Xerath. Second wave came in 2022 bringing Arcana Ryze, Arcana Ahri, and several others. Two release windows about a year apart. The line hasnt gotten a new wave since 2022 which is a shame because the theme has plenty of room for more champions.
Are Arcana skins worth buying?
If you main any of the 14 champions then yeah, most Arcana skins are solid value at 1350 RP. Xerath, Camille, and Ahri are the strongest buys. Not gonna lie some like Hecarim feel slightly weaker thematically but still look good in game. I'd say pick up the ones for your mains and skip the rest unless you're a collector going for the full set.
Do Arcana skins have chromas?
Most Arcana skins have chromas available. The chroma sets usually include Ruby, Obsidian, and a few others that shift the gold-and-purple palette into different color territories. I run the Obsidian chroma on Arcana Xerath because the dark variant looks cleaner in ranked. Worth grabbing if you find the base color scheme too bright for your taste.
Will Riot make more Arcana skins?
No official announcement but the line hasnt been marked as finished either. Riot tends to revisit popular skinlines and Arcana sold well from what I can tell based on how often I see them on the Rift. Twisted Fate, Lissandra, and Veigar feel like obvious future picks. Take this with a grain of salt but I think we'll see a third wave eventually.
