S Tier – Best Mid Laners Right Now
Aurora. Aurora’s kit has everything: burst, mobility, zone control with her ultimate, and strong waveclear. She is the most banned mid laner for a reason.
Ahri. Ahri is the safest blind pick in mid lane. Her charm is game-changing in picks, she has three dashes for escape, and her damage is consistent across all game phases.
Syndra. Syndra’s reworked passive gives her scaling that matches assassins while keeping her burst mage identity. Her zone control in teamfights is unmatched.
A Tier – Strong and Reliable
Katarina, LeBlanc, Orianna, Viktor, Yone (flex), Zed.
Katarina and Zed are the best solo-queue assassins: both snowball hard off roams. LeBlanc is the best assassin for shutting down enemy carries. Orianna and Viktor are control mages that scale well and teamfight effectively. Yone flexes mid/top and carries late.
B Tier – Solid Picks With Conditions
Akali, Cassiopeia, Galio, Lissandra, Lux, Taliyah, Vex.
Akali is feast-or-famine: either she snowballs or she is useless. Galio is the best counter-pick into AP assassins. Lux works as a safe poke mage at lower elos. Vex is an anti-mobility mage that counters dashers but struggles into long-range mages.
C Tier – Playable But Outclassed
Annie, Malzahar, Twisted Fate, Corki, Azir.
Annie and Malzahar are reliable point-and-click CC but lack the carry potential of higher-tier picks. Twisted Fate depends on map awareness more than mechanics. Azir is too weak early for solo queue despite scaling well.
What Changed From Last Patch
- Syndra up → S tier. AP ratio buffs on her Q and ultimate push her back into the top tier after two patches in A.
- Corki down → C tier. Package cooldown increase hurts his roam timing, which was the main reason to pick him.
