Gold efficiency
| Stat | Amount | Gold per point | Gold value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Move Speed | 45 | 12 g | 540 g |
| Total stat value | 540 g |
Gold efficiency = stat value ÷ item cost = 540 ÷ 1100 = 49%. The gold per point comes from basic items of the same patch (for example, Long Sword: 35 g per Attack Damage). Passives and actives are not counted, and neither are Omnivamp (no basic item sells this stat alone).

We compare cost and stats patch by patch in Riot's Data Dragon files. "Effect text changed" means the passive or active wording changed in that patch.
Gluttonous Greaves are 1,100 gold boots in League of Legends that heal you off your own damage: 45 Move Speed and 4% Omnivamp in patch 26.21. The Slay passive adds 0.6% Omnivamp for every champion takedown, stacking up to 10 times, so the boots get better the more fights you win.
What does the Slay passive do?
Every champion takedown, kill or assist, gives you a stack. Each stack is worth 0.6% Omnivamp, and you can hold up to 10 of them.
Omnivamp heals you for a share of all the damage you deal, from abilities as well as basic attacks. So the boots start with a small amount of sustain and grow it over the game, which is unusual for a boots slot (most boots give a flat stat and stop there). Thing is, the stacks reward champions who are present for many takedowns, not only the ones who land the killing blow. Assists count too.
Do the stacks fall off on death? The data text doesn’t mention losing them, so treat the description in the in-game shop as the final word on that.
Are Gluttonous Greaves worth it?
On listed stats, they score only 49%. That’s normal for boots with a special stat, though, and the number needs context.
Only Move Speed has a basic-item price: 45 Move Speed at 12 gold per point is 540 gold, against a 1,100 gold cost. The Omnivamp isn’t counted because no basic item sells it alone, and neither is Slay. Honestly, comparing boots by gold efficiency is a bit unfair anyway (most pairs carry the same 45 Move Speed, and the second stat is the whole point).
How do you get them, and what do they upgrade into?
Start with Boots (300 gold) and pay 800 gold to upgrade. That’s the whole recipe.
Later, the Greaves upgrade into Immortal Path, which keeps the same stats and Slay and adds a passive called Now and Forever: 4% increased damage while you’re above half Health, and 12% increased healing, shielding and regeneration while you’re below it. In practice, it’s the natural follow-up for the kind of champion who bought these boots in the first place.
Where did these boots come from?
They’re new, and the patch history looks strange at first glance. The boots arrived in patch 26.9 under an item number Riot’s data had used for years for a mode-specific Manamune variant, which is why the history table above goes all the way back to that old item.
- Patch 26.9: added at 950 gold with Move Speed and Omnivamp (replacing the old Manamune entry under the same item number).
- Patch 26.10: cost 950 → 1,000 gold, effect text changed.
So the real story is two patches long: a launch and a small price increase right after (to be fair, 50 gold is a minor tweak). The older rows belong to a different item entirely. For clean histories of the other boots, see our LoL items database.
Who should buy Gluttonous Greaves?
Champions who deal steady damage in long fights and take part in lots of takedowns: skirmishers, fighters, and junglers who are around for most kills. The Omnivamp helps more the more damage you deal, so a champion with sustained damage gets the most from it.
Who’s better off with something else? Marksmen usually want Attack Speed from Berserker’s Greaves, and squishy carries facing heavy crowd control may prefer Tenacity or resistances in the boots slot. Is your team falling behind? Stacks come slowly then, and a pair of boots that needs takedowns to grow is a weaker buy for a team that keeps losing fights. If you’re not sure your pick wants sustain, our champion guides are a good place to check, and for a fighter who’s in every fight, Gluttonous Greaves turn takedowns straight into staying power.
