Tyrone “Ty” Johnson (Cloak) and Tandy Bowen (Dagger), the street vigilantes from Marvel Comics. In the game’s story they were caught in the Timestream Entanglement while moving through the Darkforce Dimension and ended up fighting Dracula’s Empire of Eternal Night in New York. Their official description puts it simply: “two sides of the same coin.”
The wiki rates their difficulty at 3, so not a beginner pick, not a nightmare either. To be fair, the swap mechanic takes a few games to click.

Dagger Storm is the key one. It’s her main way to heal herself, and the bubble stays even after you switch to Cloak. The catch is mobility (or rather the lack of it): Dagger has none outside her ultimate, so a diving Duelist on her back is a real problem.

Dark Teleportation is the play-maker. The invulnerability can even avoid ultimates such as Iron Man’s Invincible Pulse Cannon and Jeff the Land Shark’s “It’s Jeff!” Two seconds isn’t long, though (and Cloak is very exposed while it’s on cooldown).
What does Eternal Bond do?
Both heroes perform four quick spinning dashes along the ground. Each dash leaves an energy carpet for 5 seconds that heals allies and damages enemies standing on it, and you can steer between dashes. You can still die during it. Burst damage is the usual culprit, and on steep terrain the dashes sometimes get stuck.
Use it to win a fight, not to save one.
Cloak and Dagger team-ups in Marvel Rivals
Who do they pair with? Right now there are two active Team-Ups: Oblivion Shroud with The Hood and Frozen Haven with Luna Snow. They also boost three other heroes’ Team-Ups: Psylocke’s Light & Dark Darts, Moon Knight’s Luminous Moon and Hawkeye’s Moonlit Slash.
That last one got better recently. In the Version 20261009 balance post, NetEase made Hawkeye’s Moonlit Slash heal him for as much as it heals others when he’s teamed with Cloak and Dagger. A small change, but it makes a Hawkeye on your team a slightly better reason to pick them.
How to play Cloak and Dagger in Marvel Rivals
Start as Dagger and stay there most of the time. Your team needs the healing, and Cloak can’t heal at all. Switch to Cloak for specific moments:
- A Dark Teleportation to save allies from an enemy ultimate or a bad fight.
- Terror Cape before your team commits, so the Vulnerability debuff boosts their damage.
- When someone dives you as Dagger, swap and use Cloak’s beam or teleport to escape.
Honestly, the swap timing is the whole skill of this hero. Each swap back to Dagger also reloads her daggers, so a quick Cloak moment mid-fight is rarely wasted. Is the pick worth learning?
