Luchador Skins
All 4 skins in the Luchador skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Luchador skin in League of Legends.
Riot has done a lot of weird skinline experiments over the years but the Luchador set is one of those themes that just clicks the moment you see it. Four skins, four beefy champions, full lucha libre energy. Been playing since season 4 and I remember when El Tigre Braum dropped and everyone on Reddit lost their minds over the recall animation. Not gonna lie, the Luchador line is small but it punches way above its weight class. The whole aesthetic is bright colors, wrestling masks, over-the-top machismo, and it works because Riot picked champions that actually fit the body type and personality for it.

What Makes Luchador Stand Out on the Rift
The thing about the Luchador skinline is it doesnt try to be dark or edgy or cosmic or any of that. Pure fun. Bright primary colors, lucha libre masks on every champion, and splash arts that look like Mexican wrestling posters you'd see taped to a bodega wall. That's the vibe. Four skins total and every single one commits to the bit.
Color palette leans heavy into reds, golds, blues, and greens. Each champion gets their own signature color to match their wrestling persona. Dr. Mundo gets that red and gold El Macho energy. Braum rocks the orange and black tiger stripes. Volibear goes blue lightning. Gnar picks up the green lion mask. Not sure if it's just me but the cohesion between the four skins is tighter than most skinlines that have triple the roster.
The splash arts across all four have this shared comic book quality. Bold outlines, dramatic poses, arena lighting. Feels like looking at luchador trading cards. In-game the models are clean for their era. These dropped in 2015-2016 so you're not getting 2024-level particle work, but the texture quality holds up surprisingly well. The wrestling masks on the character models read clearly even in teamfights which is harder to pull out than you'd think at that scale.
What ties the line together beyond visuals is the personality. Every recall animation involves some kind of wrestling move or ring entrance. Braum's recall alone is worth the price. The line doesn't share VFX across champions the way something like Dark Star or PROJECT does, but the thematic consistency is strong enough that you immediately know these four belong together. Could be wrong here but I think Luchador is one of Riot's most underrated skinlines purely because it only has four entries. If this had eight or ten skins people would rank it way higher.
Best Luchador Skins Worth Locking In
El Tigre Braum. Full stop. This is the crown jewel of the entire Luchador line and one of the best Braum skins period. Epic tier at 1350 RP, released January 2016. The tiger mask on Braum just works because Braum is already this larger than life character with the mustache and the shield and the whole protective strongman thing. Slap a lucha libre mask on him and give him a wrestling belt as a shield? Perfect. His abilities get custom VFX that match the wrestling theme. The Q projectile, the E shield, even the R has that lucha flair. (Random aside: I used this skin in my Diamond promos back in season 8 and won three games straight so it's basically a good luck charm at this point.)
Been spamming Braum in ranked for years and El Tigre is still my default lock-in for him. The recall animation where he does the full wrestler entrance with the crowd going wild. Chef's kiss. Top three recall animations in the entire game and I will die on that hill.
El Macho Mundo is the other Epic in the set. Also 1350 RP. Dr. Mundo wearing a red luchador mask and throwing what looks like a championship belt instead of his cleaver. The skin captures Mundo's personality perfectly because Mundo already thinks he's the greatest thing to walk the Rift. Give him a wrestling persona and he just runs with it. His Q toss animation with the belt is clean. Real talk though, post-rework Mundo with this skin hits different than pre-rework. The updated model makes the mask detail pop more.
El Rayo Volibear and El León Gnar sit at Standard tier, 750 RP each. Solid budget options. Volibear's blue lightning luchador skin works thematically since bears and wrestling go together somehow? Gnar in a little lion mask is adorable in Mini form and terrifying in Mega form. The transformation adds a layer that most Luchador skins don't have. Honestly for 750 RP each these are steals. No new VFX at that price point which is expected, voice lines stay base, but the model work carries them.
If I had to rank all four: El Tigre Braum first by a mile, El Macho Mundo second, then El León Gnar for the Mini/Mega contrast, and El Rayo Volibear last but still good. None of these are bad skins. That's rare for a four-skin line.
The Luchador Champion Roster
Four champions. Dr. Mundo, Volibear, Gnar, and Braum. Kinda feels like Riot had a very specific criteria here: big, brawly, melee, and preferably shirtless. Makes sense for a wrestling theme. You're not going to put Jhin in a lucha libre mask. Well. Actually Riot probably could but thats a different conversation.
Braum is the perfect fit. The man already has the build of a professional wrestler. Protective support who literally stands in front of his team. In wrestling terms he's the babyface. Mundo is the heel. Self-obsessed, hits people with stuff, refuses to die. Classic villain wrestler energy. These two carry the thematic weight of the entire line.
Volibear works because bears in wrestling is a real thing historically. The blue lightning motif gives him the "El Rayo" thunderbolt gimmick which reads well. Pre-rework Volibear with this skin looked a bit goofy but post-rework the updated model actually makes the skin way more intimidating. Gnar is the wildcard pick and honestly the most creative choice. A tiny yordle in a lion mask who transforms into a massive beast? That's basically a luchador gimmick already. The size change sells the wrestling spectacle.
Who should Riot add next? Been thinking about this since 2016. Sett is the most obvious answer. The man literally punches people for a living and his ult is a wrestling suplex. How he wasn't a day-one Luchador skin is beyond me. Maybe just my experience but every time Sett gets a new skin that isn't Luchador the subreddit brings it up. Gragas could work. Lee Sin could work. Illaoi slamming people with a tentacle in a luchador outfit? Money. The line has room to grow if Riot ever revisits it.
Tier and Price Breakdown
The Luchador line splits evenly. Two Epics at 1350 RP and two Standards at 750 RP. No Legendaries, no Mythics, no Ultimates. Price range goes from 750 to 1350 which is pretty accessible. You could buy all four skins for less than the cost of one Ultimate skin.
The Epics carry the line. El Tigre Braum and El Macho Mundo get custom VFX, unique recall animations, and the full skin treatment you expect at 1350. The Standards give you model changes and that's basically it. Standard voice, no new particles. For 750 RP in 2015-2016 that was the norm so no complaints.
Fair warning, neither of the Standard tier skins have been updated since release. They still look decent but you can tell they're from a different era of skin design. The Epics aged better because the custom VFX give them more to work with. If you're only going to buy one Luchador skin, El Tigre Braum at 1350 RP is the move. If you main Mundo, El Macho Mundo earns its price. The 750 RP ones are nice-to-haves for collection purposes or if you just want something different in your ranked games on those champions.
All four skins dropped between 2015 and 2016. Two in November 2015, two in January 2016. Riot released the whole set within a few months which gave it that event-like feeling even though it wasnt tied to a major event. Season 6 era. Simpler times for skin design but the quality-to-price ratio holds up. Played maybe 200 games with El Tigre Braum across multiple seasons and it still feels worth every RP.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Luchador skins are there?
Four Luchador skins total. El Tigre Braum, El Macho Mundo, El Rayo Volibear, and El León Gnar. All four released between November 2015 and January 2016. Small line but honestly every single skin in it is solid. Riot just never came back to expand it which is a shame because the theme has legs.
What is the best Luchador skin?
El Tigre Braum and it's not even close. The tiger mask design, custom VFX on every ability, that insane recall animation with the crowd cheering. Been my go-to Braum skin for years in ranked. 1350 RP well spent. El Macho Mundo is a solid second pick if you main Mundo though.
Which champions have Luchador skins?
Dr. Mundo, Braum, Volibear, and Gnar. All four are melee brawlers which fits the wrestling theme perfectly. Riot clearly went for champions with the right body type and personality for lucha libre. Sett is the biggest missing piece here and the community has been asking for it since his release.
Does Luchador have Legendary skins?
No Legendaries in the Luchador line. Two Epics at 1350 RP and two Standards at 750 RP. Honestly a Legendary Luchador Sett with new voice lines doing wrestling commentary would be incredible. Maybe one day. The Epics do a lot with what they have though, especially El Tigre Braum.
When did the Luchador skinline release?
The line dropped across late 2015 and early 2016. El Rayo Volibear and El León Gnar came first in November 2015. El Tigre Braum and El Macho Mundo followed in January 2016. Season 5 into season 6 era. Riot released all four within a couple months which gave it that mini-event feel.
Are Luchador skins worth buying?
If you main any of the four champions then yes. El Tigre Braum is a must-own for Braum mains, top three skin for that champion easy. El Macho Mundo is great post-rework. The two Standard skins at 750 RP are cheap enough that theres basically no risk. Good value across the board.
Do Luchador skins have chromas?
None of the Luchador skins have chromas as of right now. These released in 2015-2016 before Riot started doing chromas for everything. Kinda wish they'd go back and add some because a black and gold El Tigre Braum chroma would go hard. But for now its base colors only across all four.
Will Riot make more Luchador skins?
No official announcements as of 2026. The line hasn't gotten a new skin since January 2016 so it might be done. Could be wrong but I think if Riot ever revisits it, Sett would be the first champion they'd pick. The community has been vocal about wanting Luchador Sett for years. Not holding my breath though.
