Arclight Skins

All 5 skins in the Arclight skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Arclight skin in League of Legends.

Arclight is one of those skinlines that flew under the radar for most players and I think thats partly because Riot never really committed to it. Five skins total, spread across seven years from 2012 to 2019, and then just... silence. The golden angelic aesthetic hits hard when it works. Holy warrior energy, radiant VFX, the whole divine justice package. Been a fan of this theme since I first saw Arclight Varus back in like season 3 or whenever it was, and I still think the line deserved more attention than it got.

What Makes the Arclight Line Stand Out

The visual identity is pretty clear once you see two or three of these skins side by side. Gold and white dominate. Every Arclight skin leans into this celestial warrior vibe, heavy on the luminous particle effects and divine armor plating. The color palette stays tight: warm gold, pale ivory, hints of blue-white energy on ability casts. Compared to something like Justicar (which shares DNA with Arclight honestly), this line goes harder on the angelic motifs. Wings, halos, radiant beams of light. That kind of thing.

Not gonna lie, the shared VFX language is what sells the fantasy. When you see an Arclight skin pop off in a teamfight, you know its Arclight before you even check the loading screen. The golden particle trails on abilities, the way auto attacks leave these shimmering afterimages. Riot's VFX team cooked on these even if some of the earlier entries look a bit dated by 2026 standards.

Splash art quality varies. The older ones like Varus and Vayne have that classic Riot splash style, detailed but not quite at the level of what we get now. Arclight Brand though? That splash goes hard. Could be wrong here but I think the newer entries in the line got significantly more splash art budget. The progression from 2012 to 2019 is noticeable if you line them up.

Where Arclight falls short compared to lines like Cosmic or Eclipse is roster size. Five champions. That's it. You cant build a full comp around it in ARAM even if you tried, and in ranked you're looking at maybe two Arclight skins in the same game if the stars align. (Random aside: I actually had an Arclight Varus and Arclight Vayne in the same bot lane once in Diamond 3 last season and the golden particle overlap was beautiful chaos.)

The line sits in this weird space between "forgotten" and "cult classic." Arclight mains exist. I've met them. They're passionate about the aesthetic and honestly I get it.

Best Arclight Skins Worth Locking In

Arclight Brand is the standout. Full stop. Released in 2019 as an Epic at 1350 RP, it got the most modern treatment of any skin in the line. The abilities look incredible, his W pillar turns into this golden divine smite circle and his passive burn effect gets the radiant glow treatment. Spammed this in ranked for maybe 30 games when it dropped and the R bounce visual is so satisfying in a teamfight. Watching golden fire chain through four people in dragon pit? Chef's kiss.

Real talk though, Brand already has strong skin competition. Spirit Fire exists. But Arclight brings something different, this righteous flame judge energy that none of his other skins touch. If you're a Brand one-trick who plays him support (and lets be honest most Brand players are support players in denial), this skin makes your lane presence feel even more oppressive.

Arclight Vel'Koz deserves second place. The geometry tentacle monster getting the divine treatment sounds weird on paper but it works. His Q splits look clean in gold, and the R laser beam turning into a column of holy light is a nice touch. Been running this one in ARAM whenever I roll Vel'Koz since about 2018 I think. The passive proc visual, that golden triangle mark, reads clearly even in chaotic fights.

Arclight Yorick is the sleeper pick. Might be overthinking it but I think Yorick's kit translates better to the Arclight theme than most people give it credit for. His ghouls become little golden minions of light. The maiden transforms into this angelic spirit. Its a complete thematic overhaul for a champion who usually lives in the dark and spooky design space. Saw maybe five of these in all my games last season but every time it caught my eye.

Arclight Varus holds up okay for a 2012 skin. The Q charge-up in gold looks solid and his E ground effect pops nicely on Summoner's Rift. Not the flashiest by modern standards but theres a classic feel to it. Arclight Vayne is the weakest entry for me personally. The tumble and condemn effects got the golden treatment but Vayne has so many better options now. Project Vayne, Spirit Blossom Vayne, even the base Prestige stuff. Hard to justify locking in Arclight when you could run those instead.

The Champion Roster and Who Fits the Theme

Five champions total: Varus, Vayne, Yorick, Vel'Koz, and Brand. Not a huge roster by any standard. The selection is interesting though because it's not the obvious picks. You'd expect like Lux or Kayle in an angelic light-themed line. Instead Riot went with a mix of marksmen, a juggernaut, and an artillery mage.

Kinda feels like the champion choices were made to contrast their default themes. Brand is literally fire incarnate, so divine fire works. Vel'Koz is a Void creature getting purified by light. Yorick is a death-themed champion reborn in radiance. That contrast is what makes Arclight interesting. It's not just "put gold on already-holy characters."

Varus and Vayne make less thematic sense to me. Vayne is a monster hunter which I guess adjacent to divine justice? And Varus, well, pre-lore-rework Varus was more of a vengeance archer so the divine angle kind of worked. Now with the Darkin lore its a bit weird. Could be coping but maybe that's why Riot stopped making Arclight skins, the champions who fit naturally ran out.

Who should get Arclight next if Riot ever revives it? My picks would be Kayle (obvious, she's literally an angel), Morgana (fallen angel redemption arc skin), and maybe Thresh. Arclight Thresh where instead of collecting souls in torment he's liberating them in golden light? That writes itself. (Sidebar: I pitched this in a Reddit thread two years ago and got like 400 upvotes so clearly people want it.)

The roster being marksman-heavy means you see Arclight most often in bot lane. Two ADCs plus Brand support. If you're an ADC main or support Brand enjoyer, this line has options for you. Jungle and mid? Not so much.

Tier and Pricing Breakdown

The split is simple. Three Epics at 1350 RP: Brand, Yorick, Vel'Koz. Two Standards at 975 RP: Varus and Vayne. No Legendaries. No Mythics. No Ultimates. The line never got the premium treatment which I think held it back from reaching the popularity of something like Eclipse or High Noon.

975 to 1350 RP is a reasonable range. Not gonna lie, the Epics deliver solid value for 1350. Brand especially feels like it punches above its price point with the VFX work. The two 975 skins show their age but at that price you're not expecting particle overhauls anyway.

A Legendary Arclight skin could have been the thing that put this line on the map. Imagine a 1820 RP Arclight Kayle with new voice lines about divine judgment and completely reworked ability animations. That's the kind of anchor skin that carries an entire skinline's reputation. Think what God-King Darius did for the versus event or what Spirit Blossom Ahri did for that line. Arclight never got its flagship and it shows.

For what you're paying though? The existing five skins are fair. 1350 for Brand is an easy recommend. 975 for Varus is fine if you like the classic golden archer look. Vayne at 975 is harder to justify only because her skin catalog is stacked with better options at every price point these days.

Arclight Skins FAQ

How many Arclight skins are there?

Five Arclight skins total as of 2026. Brand, Vayne, Varus, Yorick, and Vel'Koz. Riot hasn't added a new one since 2019 so the line might be done honestly. Not a huge collection but each skin has its own flavor within the golden divine theme. Been waiting for a sixth entry for years at this point.

What is the best Arclight skin?

Arclight Brand. No contest. The 1350 RP Epic tier skin has the best VFX in the line, modern splash art, and Brand's kit translates perfectly to the divine fire fantasy. Played it for two ranked splits and the ability effects still look clean. Arclight Vel'Koz is a close second if you main the eye tentacle guy.

Which champions have Arclight skins?

Brand, Vayne, Varus, Yorick, and Vel'Koz. Interesting mix of ADCs, a support mage, and a juggernaut. The roster leans bot lane heavy so if you play marksman or Brand support you have options. Might be overthinking it but I think Riot picked champions whose default themes contrast with the holy light aesthetic on purpose.

Does Arclight have Legendary skins?

Nope. Zero Legendaries in the Arclight line. Everything is either Epic at 1350 RP or Standard at 975 RP. Honestly this is the line's biggest weakness. A Legendary with new voice lines and full animation overhaul could have carried the whole skinline. Think Arclight Kayle with divine VO. Riot missed that one.

When did the Arclight skinline release?

First Arclight skin dropped in 2012 with Arclight Varus. Last one was Arclight Brand in 2019. Seven year run with only five skins so Riot clearly wasn't prioritizing it. The line peaked around 2015 to 2017 with Vel'Koz and Yorick getting their entries. Nothing since Brand though.

Are Arclight skins worth buying?

Depends on the champion. Arclight Brand at 1350 is worth it if you play Brand even occasionally. Solid VFX, good splash, clean in-game model. Vel'Koz and Yorick are decent value too. Varus and Vayne are harder sells because both champions have way better skin options now. Not bad skins, just outclassed by newer releases.

Do Arclight skins have chromas?

Some do. The Epic tier Arclight skins got chroma packs while the older 975 RP ones didn't. Brand and Yorick have chromas available. If you want to break away from the standard gold palette, the chromas offer some variety. I remember the darker chromas looking surprisingly good, keeps the divine silhouette but shifts the color story.

Will Riot make more Arclight skins?

No official word. Last Arclight skin was 2019 and Riot hasnt mentioned the line in any dev blogs since. Could be wrong but I think the divine light niche got absorbed by other lines like Eclipse and Risen Legends. Fair warning: if you're waiting for Arclight to come back, might be a long wait. Maybe never.
