How to Read Your OP.GG Profile: What Every Stat Means

How to read OP.GG: AgataSmurf article cover

OP.GG shows a lot of numbers. Some of them matter for climbing; others are vanity stats. Here is what each section of your profile actually tells you.

The Summary Section

Rank and LP. Your current solo/duo and flex ranks. The LP bar shows how close you are to promotion or demotion.

Win rate. Your wins divided by total games this season. Above 52% in ranked means you are climbing over time. Below 48% means you are slowly falling. The number only matters over 50+ games – anything less is noise.

Recent 20 games. Shows your last 20 ranked results as wins and losses. This is useful for spotting tilt: if you see 3+ losses in a row, it might be time to stop queuing.

Champion Stats

Win rate by champion. This is the most actionable stat on OP.GG. If you have a 60% win rate on a champion over 30+ games, keep playing it. If you are below 45% over 20+ games, the champion is not working for you in ranked.

KDA (Kills/Deaths/Assists). Calculated as (K+A)/D. A KDA of 3.0+ is solid. Below 2.0 usually means you are dying too often. But KDA alone does not tell the whole story – a 5/0/0 split-pusher and a 1/2/15 support can both be playing well.

CS per minute. Only relevant for laners and junglers. Benchmarks by rank:

  • Iron-Bronze: 4-5 CS/min
  • Silver-Gold: 5.5-7 CS/min
  • Platinum-Emerald: 7-8 CS/min
  • Diamond+: 8+ CS/min

These are averages. Supports should ignore this stat.

OP Score

OP.GG calculates an OP Score for each game. It weighs kills, deaths, assists, damage dealt, CS, vision score and objective participation. A score of 7+ means you performed above average. A score of 4 or below means the game went poorly for you.

The “ACE” badge goes to the top OP Score on the winning team. “MVP” goes to the highest overall. These are fun but do not affect your LP.

Live Game Viewer

If you search a summoner name while they are in a game, OP.GG shows the live match: all 10 players, their ranks, champion mastery, and recent performance. This is the feature streamers use for checking stats in loading screen.

Multisearch

Paste all 5 summoner names from champion select. OP.GG shows everyone’s rank, recent performance, and most-played champions on one page. This helps you understand your team before the game starts – for example, if your jungler has an 80% win rate on Lee Sin, you probably want to give them their pick.

What Stats Actually Help You Climb

Focus on three things from your OP.GG profile:

  1. Champion win rates over 30+ games – play what wins, drop what does not
  2. Deaths per game – if you average above 6 deaths, dying less is your fastest improvement path
  3. CS per minute (laners only) – if you are below the benchmark for your rank, practice last-hitting in custom games

Everything else – KDA ratio, OP Score, badges – is interesting but not directly actionable.
