What came out with Aurora on her release date?
Battle Bunny Aurora and its chromas went on sale the same day, as Riot’s patch notes list. Release skins for new champions are standard practice, and Riot usually pairs a new champion with one themed skin rather than several.
Patch 14.14 also carried the regular round of balance changes and a Mythic Shop update; the notes mention Prestige Anima Squad Jinx coming to the Mythic Shop for 150 Mythic Essence. None of that was tied to Aurora.
Who is Aurora in League of Legends?
Riot’s biography describes a champion who, “from the moment she was born,” could move between the spirit world and the material one. Curious about the spirits she could see, she left home to study them and met a “wayward demigod who’d become twisted and lost to time.” She set out to help him remember who he was, and that search took her “to the farthest reaches of the Freljord.”
So her whole kit is built around that idea: being in two worlds at once. Her release quote in the patch notes says it plainly: she sees the spirit world and the mortal one at the same time, and calls that blended world her own, and beautiful.
Funny enough, the rabbit look isn’t decoration. Aurora is a Vastaya, the part-animal people of Runeterra, and the bunny ears show up in every skin. Battle Bunny Aurora leaned straight into that, which is also why it was the obvious release skin.

The ultimate is the part that makes her unusual. Inside Between Worlds, Aurora can blink from one side of the zone to the other, so enemies who chase her into it are slowed while she isn’t. In practice, a good Aurora fights inside her ultimate and a bad one leaves it.
Two dashes plus an invisibility window make her slippery.
The catch is mana and cooldowns: if she uses W and E to engage, she has very little left to escape with, and that’s when she dies.
Which lane does Aurora play?
Mid lane is her natural home as a mage, and she’s also played in top lane, where her mobility helps against melee champions. Is she good for beginners? Riot rates her difficulty at 5 out of 10 in its champion data, so not the hardest, but the ultimate takes practice to use well.

Tips for your first Aurora games
Learn the Q recast first. Twofold Hex does its damage twice, once going out and once coming back, so aim the recast so the returning curses travel through enemies rather than around them.
Save W for safety in your first games. Across the Veil is an engage tool in skilled hands, but it’s also her only reliable escape with invisibility attached, and using it to go in usually leaves you stuck.
Practise the ultimate in the Practice Tool. Seriously. Cast it, then walk to the edge and teleport across a few times until it feels natural. In real fights, stay inside the zone; that’s where you have the advantage.
